Act of War: High Treason mini image needed

Hi,
I'm looking for a mini image for the game. My doesnīt work with the 1.1 version, with 1.0 i used a nocd. Maybe i'm just noobish, but i tried it like 4 times with different settings, and none worked.
regards
Hed

Hi,
it's TAGES...
you would have to use a tetris-tdf-mini-image...

Try the mini-image from this site:

http://copybase.ch/Cb/PHPV2/Database...SoftwareName=a

It has been created with VirtualCD 7.

HeDbAnGeR 17-04-2006 07:43

i cant mount the image, virtual cd says "error opening track files". How can i fix this?

SCORPION2000 18-04-2006 05:36

Please! Can somebody make a mini image to Act of War: High Treason ? i have trayed the VirtualCD7 image but it dosent work at all!
Or is it to hard? :(

Zulu 18-04-2006 06:40

If there is one CP where mini-images can't be made for sure, then it's Tages ;)
I guess that vc4 (shouldn't it be vc6 for Tages  ) file is useless as it (judging the size) doesn't contain enough information about the position of the dupes. Or can someone confirm it's valid and working ?

BTW: it's not an image, but a container file (+additional info) for a 'Virtual CD' image

New patch for AoW High Treason_1 is out: ftp.atari.com/patches/aowht/ActOfWar_High_Treason_Patch1.exe

Joe Forster/STA 18-04-2006 11:47

@toplogin: Read forum rule #6!

hugeballs 18-04-2006 12:55

Patch 1 adds widescreen support, making a great game awesome. I hope there will be a solution soon.

rageheuuu 19-04-2006 00:06

Yes plz .. :)

Widescreen support is a mess ! :)

SCORPION2000 21-04-2006 18:10

Well why don't you try to make one with your original CD if you are so desperate for one?

Grumpy 21-04-2006 20:54

@SCORPION2000
No useless bumping! Like caki said create your own mini image instead of coming here to whine about it!

Itīs the same procedure like Fahrenheit, but where can i get such a tdf-file for High Treason?

phil8900 23-04-2006 07:02

Hi,
i wouldn't know.
i don't even know how to create one..
Btw: Game was really good with v1.0, v1.1 just makes it really awsome.

Venturai 23-04-2006 19:44

I could use something like this, or (preferably) a nocd crack, for the v1.1 High Treason update.

Atari didn't do enough testing, and they fucked up the copy protection with the retail Australian cd. As a consequence with v1.1 installed running the game prompts you to enter the cd even with it in the drive. It's been this way for over a week, and they've not been in any hurry to fix it. v1.0 works, of course, but v1.1 is a huge 150mb update which adds a number of things, makes loads of improvements, and also installs the mod tools.

It's always the way though, the one crack you want is always the one that never gets done.

BStard 23-04-2006 22:14

Venturai
I share your pain - have the Oz retail version and have been in a forum orientated disagreement with Atari since getting the game last week.
I would be very interested if a Euro version mini image would be available to see if v1.1 would then work. Although I understand the Oz/Asian version is Securom and Europe is Tages - so not sure if it works, or if the copy protection update blocks all?
Supposedly the retail version we have is being shipped back to Atari so they can work on a fix................perhaps by next weekend using our bought disc will no longer be problematic:rolleyes:
Good luck.

Venturai 24-04-2006 04:57

I was starting to feel like I was all alone BStard. I've been very vocal under the name Arutnev275885 on Atari's official boards about this - http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums...play.php?f=433 - but they are really taking their time.

I've done searches on cracking, I've descrambled the exe, installed numerous programs that are designed to counter this securom v7 copy protection. Nothing works. If it doesn't just pop up the "wrong cd" message, another shows up with something like "the security module could not be loaded".

I've also sent tech support emails to Atari and Atari Australia highlighting the problem. Not being able to install that patch rules out multiplayer and the mod tools, which leaves nothing of interest left to me.

It's bad enough as it is that we have to wait two months on top of everyone else and pay 50% more just to get our games, but this is just insulting. In a way it's my fault though, I should have just stopped buying Atari games long ago... only, you can't help but think "maybe it'll be different this time".

BStard 24-04-2006 15:23

Venturai
I am 2bollox from Atari Censored forums you might have already guessed that.
Noticed that they've closed our thread at Atari - here's hoping it gets fixed before 'our' weekend starts.
Hope you play it a bit on Anzac Day, and I'm really concerned about Atari releasing Neverwinter Nights 2 for the reason of being a very bad support company and we won't mention release dates.
@fileforums
Sorry for taking over this thread.
Take care Arutnev275885

Venturai 24-04-2006 18:22

I was hoping they'd have a fix out by the end of the day (their time), but it's a bit rude to just close that thread and not let us know what's going on. Being that today's a public holiday for us, it would have been real nice to have woken up, downloaded the fix, then spent the day playing.

The least he could do would be to get us a version without the copy protection if we sent him our legit cd keys. They messed up pretty big with this one, and I reckon if they gave half a damn about their customers they should be willing to do whatever it takes to fix the problem.

If there's still no fix out by next weekend, I'll be pissed, because I go back to Tafe next week (after the Easter break), and I'll have no time to play by then.

Joe Forster/STA 25-04-2006 02:17

I guess the conclusion is: don't rush into the shop to buy a game that was released N hours/days ago (where N is a small number). Rather, wait for a few weeks, to have the copy protection-related and other fuckups fixed by an official patch... :(

Venturai 25-04-2006 04:15

Here in Australia Joe, we're always waiting. We tend to wait longer than everyone else to get our hands on the same game. High Treason was delayed a good 3 weeks over here. We got it at least half a month after it came out in Europe, if not longer.

That's what makes it so frustrating, our game comes out that much later and yet it's still broken, and they're like "oh yeah, sorry, we've ordered one and are waiting for it to arrive". They certainly didn't think about testing it before it's release, and they wouldn't have even known had we not told them.

Grumpy 25-04-2006 10:08

We tend to only get the BIG release games at the same time as the rest of the world, like Halflife 2 and Doom 3.
Obviously High Treason is not classed as one of those big games!

Venturai 29-04-2006 21:54

Honestly, this is so frustrating.

Over at gamecopyworld they post nocd cracks for the most obscure games. Funk-Flitzer Deluxe German, wtf? Disney's Aladdin Chess Adventure, eh?

But Atari messes up on the patch1 for Act of War, so that legitimate users in Australia and Asia can't even play with their original cds, and nobody thinks to create a nocd for that? Maybe I need to go play a little Skat Meister 3D, because at least I can fire that baby up without the cd in the drive.

Oh, and don't even think about replying with a "do it yourself" post, because believe me, I've tried.

BStard 30-04-2006 17:27

@Venturai
I guess what we're after is someone with the Euro version to make a MI (well a maxi image) of HT and then post it to see if the Euro one will work the Asia/Oceania version. Given that different CP's are used (at least I think so) this may be impossible but it would be interesting to see if it works.........
Until then we wait for Atari to fix the problem they created. Most likely won't be posting anymore on Atari forums as each thread gets closed when you make legimate questions......... or point out contradictions.

Venturai 01-05-2006 01:53

At this rate BStard, by the time either Atari fix their fuckup or someone actually creates a nocd for it, we're going to be the only two in Australia who haven't returned our copies.

It's amazing that they are so cavalier about it, because that stickied thread of their is filling up with posts from those who have returned their game because of this. They are losing money, but they don't seem to really care all that much.

ronman 08-05-2006 01:15

I still dont get it.. why the hell did no 1 come out with some crack/mini img
for v1.1?
every game that comes out with every stupd update that is released is cracked..
why the hell cant i still play v1.1?!
dosent eny 1 care to crack it?

Joe Forster/STA 08-05-2006 03:04

Instead of whining, why don't you create a mini image yourself? That would earn you reputation...

ronman 08-05-2006 08:44

i have no clue how to..
why dosent eny 1 make 1?
im just guessing that if all the crackers and good computer ppl cant make 1 i wont be able to make 1 for sure..

Joe Forster/STA 08-05-2006 08:50

You shouldn't be expecting free solutions; instead, you should be grateful if you get some.

By the way, perhaps, mini images are not possible for this game's copy protection; in this case, only a full image would help. You can read the FAQ for links to a few guides on how to create full images.

RincewindTheWiz 08-05-2006 13:18

I think making an image won't work if the protection itself hasn't been done properly. Still, it's either that or trying to return it (which I would recommend, companies only listen to things like a huge return percentage or a lot of badmouthing)

ronman 08-05-2006 15:25

so do u guys think that i should wait for a v1.1 crack on "GameCopyWorld"?
or should i just fuggetaboutit and dump the game?

RincewindTheWiz 08-05-2006 16:50

If it doesn't work and you can return it for a full refund, I'd do that otherwise you might wait a bit. But don't expect a crack for 1.1 to pop up soon...

ronman 08-05-2006 22:52

is there a specific problem with this game preventing it from being cracked?

thanks aloght for the info man..

RincewindTheWiz 09-05-2006 03:40

The european version uses TAGES which is difficult to crack and/or emulate, the australian version is Securom which can also be very hard to crack. Patches are traditionally not cracked as often as the initial release, that's why you probably won't see one for this. It could happen but nobody here knows when or even if it will be cracked.

ronman 09-05-2006 14:22

thanks aloght for the clarification...

ronman 14-05-2006 10:39

is there anychance that some 1 will wake up in the morinig and crack this game?
or has every 1 lost intrest?

Joe Forster/STA 15-05-2006 05:31

Please, don't bump; forum rule #8.

BStard 15-05-2006 16:31

Dear All
Have managed to do a 'full image' backup of the the Aust. version (ie. Securom 7) which works with the asr.exe method okay (well on one computer at least) - just wondering if anyone has any better guides to do doing a maxi image for this game. As have tried the methods supplied via this forum without luck - will be quite happy to upload a working maxi image once I've created it.
Thanks in advance.

BStard 18-05-2006 01:34

Success - I hope for all

Dear All
A 'maxi' image has been sent to GCW - works with the Australian version and Patch #1 (you'll need DT4.03). Instructions included in archive.
Tested on a P4 running WinXP sp2 (32bit).
Hopefully by the weekend should be up on GCW so have fun.
Cheers
