FEAR 1.03 patch
 

New patch no longer works with DT4. Any ideas?

Perhaps, you should be much more patient. (Also, read forum rule #6. I'm not sure if it applies to your question.)

My post wasn't so much as a request for a patch but sharing the news with the community, I can still use my original disk. I've been using a mini-image from gamecopyworld for some time with success but after installing the 1.3 patch, wich just came out with punkbuster support, I get an emulation program detected error message.

Try using SR7Stop - available on GCW.

1.03 problem
 

I just installed the 1.03 update and had the same problems iv downloaded SR7stop but it doesnt seem to work when i put it in the FEAR folder. can someone explain to me how to do that? or has SR7stop worked for anyone with this problem?

Did you actually run sr7stop, or just place it in the game folder?

I'll install the patch tomorrow, and use pr0t.st0p and see whats up. If anyone can come up with some other alternate workarounds (keep in mind my ide device controller is already disabled, don't bother mentioning that) in case it doesn't work, that'd be great. Then I can post the results and what works/doesn't.

I was bored, so I did it right away (since xfire had already downloaded the patch anyway) and... it cranks out the "emulation software detected" message. Using pr0t.st0p 1.0 with Daemonscript 1.6.0 and DT4. Nforce3 MOBO's PATA controller is disabled in device manager. This setup worked pre-1.03 to get rid of "disk not found or authenticated" and "Please insert disk in another drive" messages. Any ideas guys?

EDIT: Doesn't work. - Then again, I'm using a mini-image, curerom doesn't claim to work with them. I'll find a maxi.
EDIT: Nope, that didn't work either. Keep getting the "emulation software detected" message.

No Dvd FEAR
 

First I have a legal copy, I use the NoDVD 1.02 Crack on 1.03 update, containing the files below,and this works.

FEARE_2.arch00
FEAR.exe
EngineServer.dll

Works fine for me, don't ask me to send these files,and can't remember where i've got these Nodvd Crack 1.02 from,i slighty remember it was an Russian site , F.e.a.r displays Version 1.03 after installing these files.

But honestly i cant notice any difference in game play on Single player aswell in Multi player, even when i play the original without the noDVD Patch.
I re installed the entire game.
Maybe U can search for this NoDVD Patch, but's what the hurry insert your retail DVD and play.

Hmm... my game crashes when I use the 1.02 NOCD/DVD patch... But I've still got a few ideas up my sleeve...

mount the Image with DT 4.03, the start the AntiSECURom.exe and select the FEAR.exe ... the game should start!

I made backup copies of my disks, but they won't work.

5th disk not being original and all.
Will any of these methods work for this?

I make backups because I have a 6 year old, and he finds that cd's/dvd's make good frisbees..lol

We will need a little more information on this comment: "5th disk not being original and all". What exactly do you mean!

Of course when you create a backup then the backups are not original?

How did you copy them? What program did you use? What settings did you use?

ok, sorry. i used clone cd to copy the disks. all 5 of them.

but when i try to use disk 5(copy) to authenticate, when i load the game, it says it can't, and it isn't original disk.

as far as the settings, i used the defaults i suppose. i have never changed them to copy anything.

basically, if something happened to my disk5, i would be in a jam, because i wouldn't be able to use the copy.

CloneCD will not backup recent games (last 2 years or so) even if your writer\reader is capable of doing the protections

for securom 7 you will need blindwrite 4.2x

for safedisk u will need alcohol 120% usin sd2\3 profile

disk will need to be put in a reader only for securom and either for sd4

since your FEAR is a CD version you should be able to do it in alcohol 120%

CloneCD is able to create backups of SafeDisc games, as well as Alcohol 120 ;)

I meant from about safedisk 2.5 onwards - about 3 years.

If it does newer than 2.5 then I had no idea and please forgive my misinforming :o

I own the DVD version of Fear
I only have the Update v1.1 installed & quite happy to leave it at that meaning I hear & see no problems with FEAR & a NO DVD Crack is working fine so basically its pointless in Updating unless you have problems...

Otherwise you would probably use the advantage of Punkbuster, introduced with Patch 1.03 ;)

I would like to Play Online, but its just not Fast enough my Connection Speed that is as I run ISDN 128k, I have tried it but when Some action happens then it slows right down to almost 1 & a half second response time.

But Playing the single Player I cannot complain, its so much fun & to top it off I like the smart comments that the AI has to say in different situations.

If you dont have this Game "FEAR" its recommended you buy it if you can run it as its Fantastic my Opinion of course & proberly others as well, Doom 3 I think is Scary but Fear is Freaky & Nurving & can actually make you jump away from the screen at times, Especially if your to Close...

can someone just release the no cd crack already....:mad:

FEAR 1.03 works fine for me with the mini image mounted in DT4 and FEAR started with securom loader.
curerom works for me too, but when i quit curerom my windows gets very unstable and my network gets screwed up.
sr7.stop, prot.stop and securom 7 burner loader don't work for me. FEAR crashes when i try to start it with these tools.

instead of downloading an image...i just made my own with alcohol....i have the cd version...i used the option thats like "SecuRom *NEW [4.x,5.x]"....but it still dont work!...how do i get it to work??!!:(

Read the FAQ (and linked guides) for more infos on how to create images.

I've already tried all of the above suggestions and I can honestly say that none of them work at all..... We need a proper 1.03 fixed exe file...

I agree...this is getting ridiculas for me to have to take my brothers cd's to play...

Don't know which group has made it, probably RELOADED, I assume.

I've found the crack on "that other site"! :rolleyes:
So it is only a thing of time, until it will be available @ GCW!

the crack is from ABSENTiA and as far as i can tell it works fine, at least for singleplayer.

didn't work for me:mad: ...i run the game and then the process runs for like 5 seconds then ends itself....:mad:

I have the original boxed F.E.A.R. DVD and I uses a Mini-Image Mounted
with DTools v4.03 + Daemon ANTISECUROM v1.0. The game works 100%
without the original DVD.

@epps14: You should try without the crack; perhaps, that crashes, too? Read the FAQ on some ideas.

no crashing at'all when i use the original cd 5 mate...the crack just dont work for me...

Ive just been using the 1.03 NoCD and it works fine.
I did a fresh install of the game, only cause I didnt have it installed, then installed the v1.03 update, then swapped the exe's, then played.
No problems. ;)
