Matrix - Path of neo

hi all
ive downloaded the european crack for matrix - pon. ive set it on the compatibility mode to Windows 2000. everything works fine, but i cant change anything of the options "graphics". when i change something, and get back to the graphics menu, its set on the defaults. is it possible, that that is because of the compatibility mode Windows 2000?

TippeX 02-12-2005 10:20

turn off compatability mode, see what happens
put the original cd/dvd in the drive, run the original exe, see if it happens..

that way you find out if it is or not ,and if the problem is crack related, bonus!

really this is something you could have figured out for yourself

Anima_Candida 02-12-2005 10:32

ive already tried! when i turn of the compability mode, i cant run the game. it works without any problems with the original dvd

Anima_Candida 02-12-2005 11:14

i just recognized, when i change graphic options, the game restarts! please help me, i dont want to play the game with such a low graphic!

DABhand 02-12-2005 11:35

Well bear in mind, Windows 2000 DirectX API's are different from XP's, and you will lose some of them by setting to 2000 compatibility.

Anima_Candida 02-12-2005 11:37

so it isnt possible to play it on a higher resolution than 800 X 600??

DABhand 02-12-2005 11:45

Yeah its possible without the compatibility mode.

May I ask your computer specifications?

Anima_Candida 02-12-2005 11:58

sure

ati radeon 9600pro 256 mb
amd athlon xp 3400+
512 mb RAM infineon

latest driver are installed

DABhand 02-12-2005 12:19

Its way more than enough.

I dont understand why some people have to use compatibility mode and others like myself dont.

When you enable all emulation options in Daemon Tools did you close Daemon Tools and all other emulation software, for example SD4hide, Sr7Stop, Anti-Blaxx?

And when you close Daemon Tools from the taskbar did you leave emulation options on when asked?

Anima_Candida 02-12-2005 12:35

yes, i did. its not working at all! i left the options on, but it doesnt work. when i dont enable the compatibility mode, then the game does not start and i get a message which says "A required security module can't be activated. The program can not be executed"

@DabHand-
Its because of the chipset drivers.
Some ATI & Nforce chipset drivers (My ATI included) seem to bust copy prots- I can run any SF game simply mounted, and Securom only requires me to disable the physical CDs via device manager.

I dont think it can all be because of Chipset drivers.

I have a VIA KT600 (socket A) mobo, nothing like the nForce ones commonly credited with being immune to various copy protections, and have never needed compatibility mode to defeat CPs.

On the other hand, before my last reinstall I didnt need SD4Hide to run NFS:MW, and yet now I do (no hardware change at all)

I also run with standard windows IDE drivers for sfcure, so it seems unlikely perculiaritys in my IDE controller are stopping me from needing Compatibility mode (and yes I have played Matrix:PON on it, I dont have it but a friend of mine does and lent it to me a while back)

leezer3 03-12-2005 03:01

As far as I've been able to tell (Been following this at the DT forums as well as here), it only affects certain versions of the chipset drivers, and I suspect you also need the IDE drivers as well.
Its probably a bug in specific versions of these drivers- I would imagine you simply downloaded the latest version off the website, as opposed to an older version before format?

Cheers

DABhand 03-12-2005 05:51

So the protections look at mobo drivers as emulation/hiding programs.

Thats weird btw

Anima_Candida 03-12-2005 07:26

so if it would be possible to start the game without the compability mode, it would work at a higher resolution? is perhaps anyone here, who could create another crack? or anyone who knows, from where i can get such a crack?

TippeX 03-12-2005 17:07

the point is there are no cracks for it atm, so u gotta either

1. wait (hope ur patient)
2. experiment with diff drivers/setups/whatever
3. play with the original exe & original cd/dvd

aint exactly super prospects but thats how it is
