jeah my friend i'll try it with X3 (uk version) too - just must go to our videostore. today i make another video... but it's just for fun - i do not want to play X3 - boring game... :cool:

oh - just forgot...

i've show in the beginning my device manager - just want to show u that my usb device is connected and my IDE drives are disconnected (physical). starforce nighmare will not work since starforce 3.6 - so wait for the DT ide jammer.

i also own chaos theory - this will work too.

May I ask why a German would have the UK version of X3?

He maybe English but lives in Germany.

btw. our videostore is "medienhouse" it's a big company in germany and they also rent video games from uk and usa - "importgames" :rolleyes:

Germany is weird when it comes to games. They ban games related to Nazis (damn, they just don't understand that you kill them in Wolfenstein 3-D, not become friends with them!) and they now want to ban violent games (all right, sit in front of the TV and see reports about terrorist attacks, traffic accidents or watch some action movie instead).

It doesn't surprise me at all that German people get whatever they can... Perhaps, the German version of this game, if any, is somewhat censored...?!

Hey Blade.. just ignore these guys and do the X3 video man. I' am having real problems getting my X3 backup going.

Which image did you use (from where), did you do anything with starforce nightmare/emulators? It seems all you did was mount and an image and it worked. Please tell me what you did, thanks!

i've made the image self (Plextor 716A)... just mount the image with dt 4.00 - install DO NOT RESTART and play the game - no need to disable or disconnect drives...

Oh but I wanted to do this with a mini-image rather then a full image, is it possible?

i don't know - try to make a mini image with MIR - or Quickmount... may it works...

If you can, could you make a mini-img for me? If it works well you can even put it on game copy world.

Also do you have WinXP SP2? Because it says on another place you have to have SP2 to play, I have SP1.

sry - i can't make a mini image because i do not own this game - it was just rented... btw - there is an mini image on gcw ;)

yes - i've SP2 intalled

1) The GCW image isnt working for me.
2) I think you might have to have windows xp sp2 to play this game, a real shame.

I don't have this game but I know about its protection.
Daywalker said U just have to play without unplugging or disableing.
This leads me to the question: Does it work when u resart? I mean, u can't let your PC powered up all time can't you?

It's impossible to make mini images of SD4.6, SR7 or SF3 protected game cuz the game checks speacial sectors on the DVD(image), so it's at least possible to make a maxi image only. If u really have the original, maxi images are crap cuz they are as big as a full image, u can make on your own.

I thought maxi images are not really big, they are just an illusion. I extracted a maxi image for another game from a rar thats 5 kb big. The maxi within it was 3+ gigs.. lol. So obviously the maxi isnt really 3 gigs.

It is.
If u open a maxi image with hex editor, you'll see that most are "0".
Only speacial sectors are left original. So the number of numbers and letters stay the same, so it has original size. But cuz 99% are 0 , it can be compressed that much.

the name tells everything:
MAXI image, which is a like a mini image, just unpacked a big one, so the name maxi image

this game works without unplugging any of my drives? is it becuz of SF3 CD?
Is it harder to beat SF3 on a DVD?

Hi!

I disabled my cd-and DVD drivers in the bios, used starforce to disable cd and node. Mounted the .mds image file whit the daemon tools 4.0, but it doesnt works! ( I've Sp2 installed.) In the video, you just mount the image and start the game! How did you done it?
Please, help me!!!

I havent unplugged anything. When i start it, it says. that i should insert my dvd in another drive... what can I do?

I think u only don't need to unplug, if your IDE drive is a CD drive not a DVD drive. Otherwise you have to unplug all DVD drives and mount image in DT4.

Are threre any programs which could fully disable the DVD-driver(s)? Beacause, as soon as i have unplugged my dvd-driver it worked perfect. And, it's said that the starforcer cannot cope whit it.

Look man, how do U patch a image?
does it work even if you restarted the computer?

@Dazzus - this hint is for X3 - not for King Kong - and what do u mean with "patch" :confused:

U must reboot after installation else the game wont start.
Btw it doesn't work without unplugging

daywalker, You made a video of loading the game up, congrats but without explaining what you did to load the game up and ignoring the questions (you might now be doing it on purpose!!) that are getting asked on this thread, it defeats the purpose of creating the video. :\

Don't take it wrong, this is not a flame but it would be helpful if you answer the questions getting asked here.


1) How did you do it, The video does not show enough information
2) Did you have to disable something? In the video it shows one of your drives disabled. Could you explain this please?
3) What tools did you use, DT 4.0 only?

Edit: I got it working :)

Load the image with deamon tools 4.0 and then use SafeDisc 4 Hider (Available for download in GCW!)

It should work.

That instruction vid is useless my friend, don’t even bother. I don’t know about the X3 vid though.

once again -

INSTALL THE GAME BY MOUNTING THE IMAGE WITH DT 4.0 - AFTER THE INSTALLATION DO NOT START THE GAME!!!!!!!!!!!! JUST UNMOUNT THE IMAGE AND REMOUNT IT - WAIT FOR THE LAUNCHER AND KLICK "PLAY" (LAUNCH OR WHATEVER)

IF NO MESSAGE APPEARS WHICH ASKING YOU FOR A KEY THIS METHOD WILL WORK FOR U. OTHERWISE DISCONNECT YOU OPTICAL IDE DRIVES.

I TESTED - THE SUFFERING: TIES THAT BIND - KING KONG: THE MOVIE - X3: REUNION.
