X3 no DVD uploaded to CGW

I have just uploaded the no DVD for the english version of X3 complete with instructions.
This is just an info. Have fun and greetings, 007 :D

A link would be helpful because I don't see an X3 section on GCW anywhere. I searched and checked game index.

It´s a winrar file 560 kb size. Any idea?

I think gmail is picking something up somehow... virus or some signature or something. Is it clean?

Yes, it´s clean. I´ve send it to other people around here without problems. And my virus scanner is up to date . . .

had this before, gmail doesnt like rar's with exe's in it, same with hotmail sometimes, their virus scanner chokes, rename the .rar as say .dat and send it, should work then, remind the recipient to rename it back

I send it 2 hours ago - I do not know, how often they update their server. In between I have send the WinRar file to 17 Members here. Perhaps anybody could give a download link, because I cannot send the file the whole day long! I hope you understand that! ;)

The files I have uploaded are the only way I found to play without the inserted DVD! For the StarF*** there is no other way I know!
I know that this is not soooo comfortable, but it works with version 1.20 for me!
By the way - I have only a Notebook, I can just remove my DVD Burner for a second Accu - so no Problem for me. ;)

This isnt a no-dvd, its a mini-image..

i heard that egosoft released a nocd patch for X2, also protected with star**** so there is a chance to make a working no cd patch also for X3.
I think i will wait for that becouse it is too uncomfortable to unpluge the ide cables every time.

No DABHand is right.. no-dvd = .exe overwrite and no emulation... what you have here is emulation + image + other protocols (such as disconnting power to cd drives).

There is a big difference being that no-dvd = easy crack. Your method = more difficult.

Not complaining just explaining.

Agreed. My policy is... if I have to do anything physically to my hardware just to start a backup.. its going too far.

spreaded, i guess it is a stealed one... on Yousendit.

I got it on friday from a friend. right after testing (that is is running), i have send it without any changes to GCW and different other people.
What is different? The one I got seems to run without problems?! :confused:

Wow! Used Deamon tools 4 and dident have to remove any drives or use any tools, just mounted the image and played the game. Ha! starforce beat at last.
BTW Im running version 1.2.1.

UPDATE:
Just tried same thing on my other computer and it did not work, can't figure out why, they are both very much alike in hardware and setups. So why work on one and not the other, if we could find out the answer to this it could be the end to all our problems.

I've found that as well, surely it's not just us two who are having this problem? I'm using Firefox by the way but I've tried IE and the situation is the same. Unable to download on any of the mirrors over the past two days.
