Appears, FEAR 1.02 patch breaks all the existing ways of playing with your backup disc, tried anti-blaxx, SR7.Stop, and the FEAR minidisc.

Pirates can reinstall and use the 1.0 crack. Unforteanutley, some are too stupid to do even that, so they will just come here to whine about when the next crack is coming out.

If you saw my stacks and stacks of CDs/dvds you'd understand how hard it is to find a specific cd/dvd

if it didnt occur to them, then they are beyong helping :D might as well give them a hint or 2, since they nver seem to learn. This forums ban list is living proof of that :D

Due to all kinds of problems with the securom of this game, the developers should really release a securom-fixed EXE.

Yea? Good for you. A couple of 1000s of ppl are not as successful as you are running the game... Check out the VU-forums if you don't believe me. Problems with this game isn't pirate-issues by default.

And how many of those 1000's are pirates?

How the **** should I know? Fact: even ppl with a LEGITIMATE purchased version of F.E.A.R have problems with it. That's how it is.

seems to be related to it needing an inet connection, or perhaps the update prog is crappy, dont think that 'issue' is related to the copy protection however

That's the real issue. It could be anything. Ppl from VU-forum reports that "blablabla works perfectly to fix the blabla problem". Some solutions tend to work, some don't. It seems that nothing from that forum is helping everyone. Bottom line: VU has to work the problems out. Pirating or legitimate, I'm sure securom isn't making things better. Maybe not worse, but definatly not better.

Anyone knows if there's been any updates to any no-cd for v1.02? I don't dare to try any right now, cuz I don't wanna mess up my game.

One thing that kinda works...
After patching to v1.02 Make a folder named BACKUP in your FEAR Directory, anc move FEAR.exe and FEARE_2.Arch00 into it. Then use a cracked 1.01 or 1.0 EXE and you'll be able to play. It will still say v1.01 in the corner though :/

Also, would u care to be more specific? From where should the game be run? And shall the crack be used in BACKUP or what?

lol if you move the fear_2 archives the patch was in vein...
the file contains any fixes or new textures or whatever you install with this patch...why putting it away? so you shouldnt even install the patch ;)

I have a 7.1 surround sound sound card and i cant get fear or call of duty 2 to play in dts or surround and i can only select 2d sound does any1 know what i can do

lol this method doesn't work for me, or am i doing sth. wrong?? So, is it able to make the game playable without my orig disc, after i installed patch 1.02? So, i hoped the way above it would work, but it didn't! So please give me/us a detailed discription of how you made that and which crack you used!

@Diamond5100c: You may want to look around and see if some configuration needs to be done either in the sound card settings or the general audio settings of the operating system. Also, remember that this is NOT a general game support forum; you'd better ask the game publisher instead.

I have installed thr 1.02 patch and now I just have to play with the dvd stuck in the player... and I just can stand this!!!!!

Is there a way to execute FEAR directly from the hdd????????????

Create a maxi image of your original CD/DVD - see the "How to make maxi images" thread; use the SEARCH button -, mount it into the latest Alcohol 120% and then... play around... like physically unplug all CD/DVD-ROM's, run Anti-Blaxx or SR7.Stop or Virtual CD-Hide, perhaps, Starforce Nightmare, too...

And did you make it to work with any dvd in the drive and patch 1.02??

Sorry, no, it was just a general advice. (I don't have much time for gaming anymore and I don't have this game either.)

So, the question is the same as days ago: the v1.00/v1.01 FixedExe works
on the v1.02 Updated game? I Updated to v1.02 and all works fine with the
Original, new Securom 7.....149 protected game. Nothing BAD at all!! But I
hate to put my original DVD to the drive in ALL Days when I play this game.
Also a new Multi-player map included it's great!!!
I guess not to try in my WORKING updated game with the old FixedExe,
scare to any problems (freezes, etc.) and to lost hours of gameplay if
didn't working good. I tried to make a BWclone from my Original DVD, but
on the v1.01 updated was NOT working what I make/tested hours on v1.00.
So I delete and couldn't waste hours again.

Well, the problem is that he new SecuRom protection has to be defeated before playing F.E.A.R. with no dvd and patch 1.02...

Any one that finds something pleeeease come here and post the solution. :)

Dammit!!!! I have been trying for weeks now to get to the bottom of this!! i have had 5 .exe files from securom and they conclude that it must be a problem with my pc...which it isn't as selective startup with "nothing" loading still gives the same error..... original disc could not be authenticated error appears when i run the game...(with the dvd in) so i now need a 1.02 no cd crack as i am sick of rubbish tech support for a game that cost me £30!!!!!

PM me if you have an original and ill help you play with your backup image (or maxxi found on gamecopyworld) / daemon and 1.02 patch..

I won't help anyone with fake / chinatown / blackmarket / backup of friend / pirated or any other form of illegal material so don't even try.

Also this method is legal since it doesn't modify game files or files related to the game and also leaves the copy protection intact (it just bypasses the emulator detection schema at system level) (someone was suggesting i was messing with the copy protection in another thread but i don't)

so another reason to have a original since you will need to create a 1:1 image :P

It doesn't bypass the protection it simply lets you keep legal progams installed on your pc and doesn't touch the protection in anyway at all. Plus I'm not the creator of the program.
Anyways it doesn't really matter to you does it. If you own it you are legally entitled to own one backup so their protection violates that law (and i don't care about the dcma or uk laws since i dont live in uk / us)

Did you make sure your PC met with minimum requirements.

F.e.a.r. 1.02 - No-dvd?

you are messing with the protection, any tool that bypasses the protection can be seen as a violation of the dmca act, and numerous other acts/laws within the uk, europe and so on... and weren't you banned before because of your ego?

Why bother so much with the 1.02 Update and its non-existing Crack?

If there is NO CD/DVD Crack available, well....play the 1.01 version !!!

I just finished the game :) and I had no problems with any kind of bugs, that's one of the best things of it, no bugs

I downloaded the 1.02 patch and when or even if there is a 1.02 Crack, I will get it then for future F.E.A.R. gaming (for new maps, mods, etc)

So again....why bother to patch it when you don't really need it ?

The game ends when the guy comes out to the open and.....well, why spoil the surprise, lol

I'm trying to make it work using DT4(I bought the game a week ago) and it seems that my image made with Alcohol after CD5 it's not good enough. I need a good *mds file after CD5 to see if it works with Daemon Tools 4. Can anybody send me the file?

Actually, the blacklists are a featureof the protection. Correct? Ok lets assume you agree.

Now: Bypasing the blacklists means bypassing a feature of the protection. Correct? Ok, once again lets assume you agree.

Bypassing the protection is illegal. Correct? Again, lets assume you agree.

Since you have bypassed the protection, you have broken the law, because it states you may not bypasss protection. Correct? Its up to you to agree or not.

If the game is giving you an error, then you shoud contact technical support. Correct? I think so.

So, if this game is giving you problems with playing while you have legal software installed, and you are a 100% legal customer, this means that you have a technical difficulty that the publisher should resolve for you.

Now, lets assume that you dont feel like wasting the time and money on your phone bill to contact a publisher on the other side of the globe. You can visit this forum, and ask for guidance.
This guidance will involve bypassing the protection, therefore illegal, as said above. However you get what you payed for, and no one is harmed.

But dont ever mistake your actions as legal. They arent. If they want to sue your ass off, and they have good lawyers, you are screwed.

What I am trying to say is, your method is not legal, but it gets the job done, and it doesnt harm anyone, so no one cares, and there is a next to zero chance you will be sued.

But do not be under the false illusion that it is legal. It isnt.
