Civilization IV?
Why is this game not on GameCopyWorld yet? It shipped out on 10/25/2005. I need my DVD player free for other things and would like to be able to play this game without tying up my DVD player. Not to mention I like to store away my install discs so they don't get destroyed by my kids. How do you make a mini image? Is someone going to have a solution soon?
|
Just wait couple days... Always there is a solution.;)
|
Simple way: Just make a full Image with Alcohol 120 (ca. 1,3 GB). Mount the Image with Daemon Tools 3.47. To play Civ IV just start SafeDisk 4 Hider (you get it at g a m e b u r n w o r l d . c o m) . Now you can start the game and play it without DVD.
This solution works fine. By the way - itīs better than a no CD: there are some bugs, so I am waiting for a update. This solution will work with future updates, I hope . . . ;) Greetings, 007 |

I've tried this, but I keep getting an error with Alcohol 120, here is the log. ####################### Dumping/Recording Progress Log ####################### 16:41:24 Processor info: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.40GHz (2405MHz) 16:41:24 Disc dumping: (D:) SAMSUNG CD-R/RW SW-252B(1:0) 16:41:24 Reading Mode: RAW Mode 16:41:24 Source Info: Session: 1, Track: 1, Length: 655.1 MB / 074:32:11 16:41:24 Writing image file: C:\Documents and Settings\Homer\My Documents\My Games\CIV4DISC1.img 16:41:32 Disc read error at: 824 16:41:32 Disc dumping failed! 16:41:32 Error message: [03/15/00] - Random Positioning Error 16:41:32 C:\Documents and Settings\Homer\My Documents\My Games\CIV4DISC1.ccd: Image file writing aborted! ################################################## ############################ Also when I tried it with nero, it said the CD was copyrighted. Do I need to run safedisk 4 b4 I do this or is it just for when I mount the image with daemon tools to play the game? btw, what is (ca. 1,3 GB)? Is that the DVD file size? I have the 2 disk CD copy and I'm trying to copy disk 1 to my HD. |

I got it at Fry's. It was only 38 bucks(not including tax) for the collectors edition. I think the only extra we got it the box was the game soundtrack, but the collectors edition at fry's was the same price as the regular one. :)

Oops, my bad!
So I read through the forum rules which have changed since I first registered. I guess my request for the crack was a bit early, so sorry for that.
The only thing I don't understand was that Luciel posted "a crack which WE DONT DO is not on the site" in regards to Civilization IV. What does this mean "a crack we don't do"? I thought GameCopyWorld was known for carrying cracks to nearly every game created... Why wouldn't it do this one? I just don't understand that. At any rate, I'll just watch the game crack list and just play this one with my original disc until a crack is available. I guess my other DVD projects will have to be put on hold while I play *sigh*. :P Thanks all, King |
Group of reverse engineers create cracks. They end up on gamecopyworld for the general public. Gamecopyworld ppl do not make the cracks, only submit/host them for other ppl to use.
So when cracks come out doesnt depend on how many kids whine about having to find the original CD, but when the reverse engineers feel like it. And requesting for cracks wont do you jack ****. No one cares if you have to put in your original CD. If this sounds blunt, you might as well stop using the interent because it also can be just as blunt. |

just like to say i got ALCOHOL 1.9.5 and DAEMON 3.4.7 installed that safedisc problem solver of yours but it all doesn't do nothing Guess I"ll have to wait for the boys at gamecopyworld.com to put this game on the site... And i was so looking forward to being Bush 3 (bigger, better and uncut) ;) Greeting G Simple way: Just make a full Image with Alcohol 120 (ca. 1,3 GB). Mount the Image with Daemon Tools 3.47. How do you make that Image, which options do you use? There was another thread in this forum about that here in the forum (I think you have to read subchannel data, but I am not sure). You have to use the right options then it works . . . |

Sorry to hear that. How do you make the Image, which options do you use? There is another thread about that topic in the forum, search for it (I think you have to read subchannel data, but I am not sure - I dont remember, I have tried three or four different ways until one worked). You have to use the right options then it works . . . :) Perhaps somebody who reads this post could be so kind to post the options here again to help you . . . Greetings, 007 |
I made the MDF with Alcohol 1.9.5 and i"ve tried that one and DAEMON 3.4.7 to get the game to work.
What do you mean with: What option do you use? greetings G |
already figured it out myself
i"m gonna try it out now, i"ll tell you how it went at least I"ll be ABLE to try it, if The Bartd's Tale would be so kind to freaking install itself (7.5 gb, JEEZ) I hope this game is worth it... greetz Gunther |

And even worse: that guy has send me a private message . . . |
For SafeDisc 4.60.000 Mini Images are not possible any longer.
|
Let's stay on topic here :p
that guy is just a nut give him the regard you would gave any nut at a bus station, train station or arcade hall ;) About that Mini imaga thing: that seems to me like a very good idea so could ANYONE please please please with sugar on top make that file so my quest for world domination can (yet again) begin? I'll like totally make it worth your while I"ll Throw in Madagascar ;) cheers |
O yeah
almost forgot tried the options thing totally did nothing  I"m kinda out of "options" here guys, i Think a gamecopyworld.com sollution is trully needed here i know nagging won't get us J*ck but Mandela probably didn't think sitting in jail all those years would do him any good either but he did win the nobel prise for peace through it (and it comes with a b*tchin $ bonus) So Let's go Ghandi style on it :) :D |

less talking, more doing...
you all say that you "did something" and now it work
BE SPECIFIC write a full BULLET PROOF way of fixing it instead of giving only a piece of the puzzle |
Yeah, I would prefer a Mini Image too! Please tell how or give a link for it . . .
Full Image is nice, but saving 1,3 GB is better . . . |
Hmm its something hard 2 understand...
Its a little things I came up with... If you open up a safedisc image you will see that all the weak sectors are positioned the same way in each .MDF. So, you could make a .MDF without the weak sectors, inject them, and then generate a .MDS file for the accompanying .MDF. Then mount it on daemon and it should run. However, this works only from game to game, and I am working the kinks out. Sometimes the mini images run, and sometimes they dont. Very puzzling hmm... Anyways, I got it to work with some SD protected DVDs, like Civ 4 and Quake 4, but like I said, they only work 80% of the time, and I wanna figure out why only 80%, why not always? Also, there is another strange thing here. I thought that Safedisc checks something else on the DVD instead of weak sectors like in the CD. If so, then why do DVD images with weak sectors injected in them sometimes run? |
OK, seems I am a little too stupid for that - I will use my full Image untill someone will post a Mini Image or a no CD (right now I have nearly 60 GB free, so itīs no real Problem ;) ).

can you tell me EXACTLY what you did? if you can"t rightly say it here, I"l PM you my email add me :) |
Ok,
I got this working last night. I mounted the image in Alcohol 120%, then ran Virtual_cd_hide which can be obtained from gamecopyworld. Just right click on the system tray icon and enable virtual_cd_hide. Now run your shortcut to the executable. Give that a try. It worked great for me :) |
Just went over to a friend who has the original of this game CD Version. I have DVD Version. His copy wont work lol. GJ safedisc, really GJ. This is max protection, where the real game wont work even :P
EDIT Just went to the 2k games website. Their support button doesnt work, and when I call their phone I get a sexy woman telling me the number doesnt exist. Wow. Thats all I have to say. My friend just wasted $55. Hes beyond pissed :P. |
how you know she sexy :P she might of been obese with a shaved head, wit a sexy voice :P :P :P

damn
almost had it I used alcohol 1.9.5.2802 to emulate it then Ran Safediskhider and the game worked well kinda I get into the menu screen with you seeing the world and all but i do not see a MENU How about that... finally got it to work and then the game bails on me :s anyone had that problem? grz g |
Thats more a hardware problem I feel.
Which comes with the question, did it work with your original. |
Quote:
i had that happen a while back with one of my games..... I guess this doesn't help you any because i was using the original disc and the menu didn't have words on it. After i updated my video card drivers, the game worked fine. There's a funny thing with those vid card drivers. to completely remove all traces of the old drivers, you have to do more than uninstall the old drivers and install the new ones.. bits of data in the registry and directory that the drivers are installed to can interfere with smooth running of the game.... there are programs or instructions on how to completely remove vid drivers on some other sites. i won't list them here, but a google search of "video card driver cleaner" may help you out. That could be the problem, or maybe not. it's worth a try. :) |

dude that's one of the things I can't stand! I mean if you UPDATE your drivers that should simply be UPDATING your drivers and not UNINSTALLING RESTARTING REINSTALLING RESTARTING!! I mean come on!!!!! I just want ot play a game not get a headeache Cause Mr.IWANTTOMAKEITASHARDASPOSSIBLE TOEVEN PLAY THE GAME! so you can all worship me! meh I just got home from a party! but still it stands that's just redicilious you have to uninstal reinstall reboot twice and cross you're fingers for it to work! |
