Football Manager 2006

I downloaded the crack, so that there was no time limitation on the demo, but when I use the crack it says that the game cannot be loaded, has anyone else had this problem? and does anyone know how to solve it? or is there another crack available..

Joe Forster/STA 19-10-2005 09:14

1. Use the SEARCH button before you ask; there are already threads related this game and this problem. This is forum rule #4.
2. Don't request anything related to a game/game update that has been released within two weeks; if I'm not mistaken, this game hasn't even been released yet. This is forum rule #6.
3. Demos, betas and other test releases are not supported on this forum. This is not mentioned explicitly in the forum rules.

Anything else I missed?

DABhand 19-10-2005 09:14

LOL

The crack is NOT for the demo.

The game in question has not been released yet. So Joe, can I jump to a conclusion about the post by DABhand and assume he is talking about an illegal crack then ? Or am I wrong again and it is just a no-cd patch for people who already own the original game ? ;)

Joe Forster/STA 19-10-2005 11:11

There is a "time limit extended" ;) patch for the demo version of this game on GCW, see it yourself.

glenbo 19-10-2005 12:46

yes it is for the smaller demo that is available, not the gold demo.

the game is released friday anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i neeeedddddd ittttttttttt

lol

But isn't that completely illegal then ? Hacking a demo to make it run longer than it was supposed to ? That is not the kind of act I would expect to hear supported by a long time member of a forum that just serves the kind of people looking for no-cd patches for original copies of the game they have bought ? Or am I completely wrong again ?

glenbo 19-10-2005 15:55

well it only lasts 6 more months, not a big deal..if its there to be modded, people will mod it...6 months longer is not gona effect there sells is it.

DABhand 20-10-2005 02:11

I got mine this morning from amazon, and well, i found out why I never bought last years..

The players AI is very very poor. They spend too much time running about back and forward instead of crossing a ball. All too frustrating.. I usually just go for Instant Score lol

Then the severe referees, yellow cards and red cards galore..

And the stupid scorelines, 12-0 I beat Rangers today.. Its all kinda surreal.

Sorry Glenbo, I would keep your money for champ manager which would be a better all round simulator :P

Joe Forster/STA 20-10-2005 03:32

@japajapa: Yes, I agree with you, but who am I to publicly question the competence of forum moderators and administrators?

Virdan 20-10-2005 04:27

Its not out til tomorrow... and plus Football Manager is Champ Manager in all but name

glenbo 20-10-2005 05:22

arghhh nooo not championship manager, thats a awful game lol!

footie manager is sweet aslong as you are a football boffin :P

DABhand 20-10-2005 05:44

Let me put it this way, if seen Fifa Manager on a friends pc and this is in the same league, they didnt tune that AI properly.. Not realistic scoring etc.

Its a shame as I was looking forward to it. But with CM you get realism :(

Grumpy 20-10-2005 07:28

If I can just take this oppotunity to stir the pot a bit, none of the games you guys talk about is real football anyway!!! Australian Rules Football now thats a real football game!! :D :p :D :p ;)

P.S: And I am not talking PC games here, as I dont play the PC Sports game I cant really comment on the actual games.
And I do expect some possible flack flying back to me on the above comment! :p

DABhand 20-10-2005 07:54

Grumpy Australians are like the Americans, they took our football game and re-arrange it to something else :P

We did invent the game first ;)

Eh the American game is nothing like the English or the Australian game, and you guys play with a round ball and can only kick it along the ground with your feet, no handballing etc. The Australian game is more of a spectacle, high flying marks (catches) long distance kicking, hand balling. scores from both teams in all games, no riots etc, and all this with not a round ball but with an odd shaped ball, a bit like the shape of the zeppelin, so it takes major skill just to bounce it let alone kick it straight. Our game is totally different to any other football in the world, it did not evolve from the English (European) football. Yes we do play your style football over here as well but we call that 'soccer'. And just to clarify, I am not talking about rugby or gridion. I'm talking Aussie Rules! Aussie Aussie Aussie oiy oiy oiy. :p :D

eirebhoy 20-10-2005 11:30

When will the crack (or mini-image) for this game be released?

caki 20-10-2005 11:37

Nobody knows. It will be rlsed when someone feels like it.

EDIT

Mini image is on g a m e b u r n w o r l d.

That's actually for Fifa Manager 06 when you unrar it. Anyway, I found how to use Football Manager without the CD:

Right click on the shortcut icon on Desktop.
Click Properties. Go to Compatability tab.
Change the Compatability mode to Windows NT and it should work.

Did not work with RIP version. :(

caki 20-10-2005 12:19

RIP? As in the compressed downloaded version?

turdlet 20-10-2005 13:33

DABhand you can't be serious? That bullcrap eidos is pushing with the name the guys at SI made is hideous. EAs game lacks immersion badly compared to FM05 even, let alone the new version with the team talks and such nice additions.

I don't know if you know this but FM = CM. CM05 is not the real CM and is a load of crap.

franksmule 20-10-2005 13:57

eirebhoy you beauty.

I was looking around for ages to fix my poorly made image that comes up with 'insert the correct cdrom' message. I set it to nt compatibility mode like you said and it works a treat.

cheers.

Ill try and make a minidisc for you lads admitly by the time I make it some proffesional group would have made it but... ill try.

caki 20-10-2005 14:54

Doesnt take a group to make a mini image lol. Just a brain with a higher IQ than George Bush, a computer with Alcohol 120%, and a pair of hands.

this is championship manager buddy!

it is made by sports interactive, the makers of every champ manager game other than champ manager 5.

eidos and sports interactive split up,sports interactive got to keep the game and its database, wheras eidos just got to keep the championship manager name.NOT anything to do with teh game whatsoever, that was all trademarked/copywrited by sports interactive years ago.

this is not a ea game,or anything to do with fifa, this is the real deal, the real championship manager that we all know and love :P

championship manager 5,is not anything to do with any of the older championship manager games, other than eidos release the game, and it has the same name as its predecessors.

very confusing lol!

but championship manager 5 was probaly the worst game ever and they probaly wont be making anymore.

FOOTBALL MANAGER 2005 and 2006 is what we all know as championship manager from a few years back.

With CM you get better matches, not lets just score 12 in one game. Not realistic enough with FM.

And remember CM was around since amiga days, which spawned into Premier Manager, which then spawned into Football Manager.

There was a Football Manager before CM, but it was nothing to do with SI.

So why do you call it football? lol

If most of the game your using your hands, its only after a few steps they kick for some strange reason (perhaps you can only hold the ball after so many steps?)

dude your gettting this so confused with fifa manager.

football manager is the game we all know as cm.

cm 5 is a brand new game with bad ai,and the tendancy to send off 5 of your players in every match.

i lost 23-0 to inter milan with real madrid in cm 5 lol! with 6 men.

glenbo 20-10-2005 15:03

maybe it is your personal prefrence tho mate :P

i know that cm5 got reviews of like 30% and 2/10 in most magazines..

wheras football manager got 10/10 and 90% everywhere, and nominated as the british game of the year, and the highest selling pc game of last year also.

sports interactive the makers of football manager 2005,where the makers of every single championship manager that was ever made exept last years, which was entirely new,and they lost a lot of money (even i took my copy back to teh shop,it was pants!,lol)

btw,the zx spectrum,c64,amiga version of football manager has nothing to do with these games, other than this game has aquired the trademark for the name.

DABhand 20-10-2005 15:04

Not with Fifa Manager no...

Ive seen Fifa Manager running and its just as bad.

But hey, I was giving a warning before you buy it lol

glenbo 20-10-2005 15:09

already purchased today! and been playing it for 4 hours straight (even running in a window now) it is pure amazing, and the best footie manager sim anywhere!

if a cm6 ever comes out (****ing frauds!) i wont even contemplate looking at it lol! it really was worthy of a zx spectrum.

football manager is almost identical to cm4 with added features...ie same 2d pitch (somthing else the new fraud cm has ripped off)

so teh goals aint really unrealistic, cos its 2d lol!

i know you have your own taste, but im so sure you have this mixed up with fifa manager lol! cos saying football manager is not very good is like saying thierry henry is crap,or ronaldinho is crap lol

DABhand 20-10-2005 15:11

They are imho, especially ronaldo, biggest paid goal poacher..

And no I aint mixed up with Fifa Manager.

Virdan 20-10-2005 15:11

lol some1s lost the original CMs never became Premier manager and then FM... Premier Manager afaik became Fifa manager, CM became FM when SI split with Eidos... they kept everything but the name.. whereas Eidos kept the name and churned out a load of crap :S

glenbo 20-10-2005 15:15

nope

premier manager is still going, always has been and has just released a new game.

fifa manager/total club manager are the same thing.

championship manager is football manager

championship manager 5 makers are a new independent company paid by eidos, and ruined the championship manager name.

when sports interactive used to make champ manager and it was published by eidos..

they were known as 'eidos interactive'

now sorts interactive games are published by sega.

and last i read, championship manager is litrally dead...and there will be nomore of these rip off games.

ukspur 20-10-2005 15:15

aarrgghh

will some extremely kind person for the love of god send me or tell me where to get the no cd patch for FM2006, im going past desprate to point of considering chewing of my own leg as enjoyment.

Please help!!!!!

p.s this is my first post if i have broken any rules then i am sorry and i retire back within the cave i once came from.

-throws a head fit- thierry henry crap? man! please dont tell me henrick larsson, john hartson or chris sutton even deserve to be on the same pitch as him lol!

ukspur 20-10-2005 15:19

plus whilst your all on the subject of the history of FM here is mine!!!

It all started for me on my trusted Amiga with the orginal cm(Cant remember the year!)
then onto CM Italia (Again Amiga)

before its mighty rise to the PC where foreign leagues came in (Oh how i remember these great days!!!)

from there CM has evolved into the most successful football management games of all time, and then came the split... the dark days some call it,

well they were if you bought cm05 (Crock of crap that was) FM is the only sim you will ever need,

Long may it continue!!!!!

glenbo 20-10-2005 15:55

* Stopped "grey team managers" being given negative attributes and therefore sabotaging their own teams causing some very big defeats.
* Teams in the same division should not have the potential for a giant-killing news story even if one is semi-pro and one is pro.
