There is no purpose about storing a demo exe on GCW as it serves no purpose.

I think maxipaxie wants the demo exe for Sam 2 because it works like the Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood fiasco where the original crack from the first BiA game works for the BiA:Earned in Blood game and bypasses starforce! Similarly, the demo exe from Sam 2 works on the retail and bypasses securom :cool:

Yeah but nobody will download it (in masses anyways).. so to store a file that only a handful of people will get is pretty useless, plus takes up a wee bit of space, only a wee bit, but still takes it up :P

Why's there no purpose? It works as a no cd, the folks at Croteam released an updated demo patch which is the same version as the current retail. So that someone doesn't want to download the demo and the demo patch just to use its executable as a no cd, that seems like a purpose to me.

PS: and it really works, no issues on higher levels like with many other "demo cracks".

PPS: I uploaded the 2.064b executalbe to gcw, we'll see if there's a purpose ;)

PPPS: saw you posted again, I think that a lot of people might prefer downloading a 20 kb file instead of a 250 MB demo (not talking about upcoming patches, at least I hope they go on patching the demo ;) ). Also, there might be a lot of people not knowing they can simply use the demo...

Just create an image with alcohol,mount it with daemon tools and play the game.

Do you want a mini image or a normal one?I don't know how to create a mini image too,but I can explain how to create a big one.Just start Alcohol,go to "Image Assistant",mark the fields "Ignore Reading Failures" and "Data Position Measurement" and go on.Choose the original disk and the directory for the image and start.

Mount the image with daemon tools and play the game.

Yea, I know that part (Cheers anyway). I'm just in one of those situations where my hard drive is full of stuff I need so dont have room for a full image. A mini image would be perfect though.

no real magic, make the image as you would normally (with the right settings per protection etc etc..), cancel it at 1-2%, when asked if you want to delete the image say no.. job done, thats more or less it.. mostly trial and error in getting the right %age to stop at, its been discussed in other threads ;)

you can also then go totally crazy on it to make it compress better by hexediting the image and filling the file data (yep the data the files would normally contain...) with zeros or a repetetive byte (you have 255 to choose from) which makes the image compress better, all a matter of personal choice though but only attempt the crazy things after you have tested the 'mini' image you have made works...

Works on both Clone release and Subtiles own release (which comes with this crack in dir anyway).

No, there's no guarantee, but I had no problems both on singleplayer and on (online) multiplayer.
