Xbox Bios for 250GB Hard Drive??
Does anybody know what Bios supports a 250+gb Hard Drive??
Thanks |
All newer bioses, that includes Xecuter2 4981 and up, EvoX M7 and up, Xectuer 3 and so on.
But for the sake of compatibility use a .67 bios. That means it will create C:, E: ,F: and G:. F: will be up to 137gb and G: the rest. Also note that if you use any drive larger than 300gb change the cluster size to 32kb in order to avoid corrupt data. |
You normally want F to get all and G to get little or none since (at least for me) G serves no purpose. The evox dash always looks at F/games for me.
|
I think that one can have F: all the way up to 250gb (or was it 300gb?)... Where the dash looks for games is easily changed in the .ini file or whereever the dashboard loads the settings.
|
F can go as high as the LBA48 hack can go. But the fatx file system on the xbox has a physical limitation of around 380 something GB's before files start to get currupt.
|
BUT if you change the cluster size to 32kb datacorruption will not happen. With that little change 500gb HDD can be used. :D
|
Whatever, anyway why would you even need a 500GB drive in your xbox, I manage fine with my "little" 120GB :(
It's just rtidiculus to put such a large drive in your xbox, I'd say 300GB max, don't blow all of your money on your xbox. |
Thanks for your help. I was only thinking of going up to around 200GB Max anyway.
I've flashed X2 4981 onto my Xbit already. Just waiting to get the cash for the drive. I'm also checking out ebay for an Evox auto installer as its way too big to download. Anyway guys, thanks again. Im getting back to playing Madden 06 |
By the way you do relize that X2 5032 has come out already. It's a 512KB version so use that, it has more options in X2 config live and more bug fixes.
If you want a 256KB version go to 4983 which is one up from the 4981 that you have. |
Before flashing with X2 5032 please tell me what chip you got.
If you have a DuoX2 you must be 100% sure it is NOT a clone or the flash will hose your chip. |
He said it was an xbit.

LOL (I'm just kidding, I don't really mean it, really, I'm kidding, really!) dragonx  |
Cant get the 5032 to work on my xbit. Flashed it to the 512k portion on 6 but it wont pick it up for some reason.
I've tried the old version of the 5032 not the V1.6 as I dont have a V1.6 Xbox but still no joy. Maybe the bios was corrupted on download Any ideas??? |
Get the 5035 versio.... :D
Try that one out, also make sure that you configurate the bios with the help of your PC before flashing it to the chip. There is an application releases by teamxecuter to do that. |
Why do i have to config the bios?
