GTA: SA - lets burn it!

Every once in a while I just have this URGE to make a working backup. I just got the game (woohoo). Yes, its SecuROM 7.006.

I have Lite-On DVD-RW SOHW-832S (latest firmware from Omni)

I have latest Alcohol 120%, and Alcoholer 4.1

Whats the best way to make a WORKING copy for me? Alcoholer has TwinPeaks built in. I want a copy that works without ANY extra software.

I also use ASPI 4.7 if thats a problem.

Thanks!

You tell us, you're the one with the game. We don't get it in the UK until Friday!

Well, I do not even know what settings to use for SecuROM 7. I remember I made working copies of SecuROM 4 or 5 before but no clue about 7.

Whos_Ur_Paddy? 07-06-2005 08:48

thanks machina for the securom 7.1 info gonna try and find out how to burn i will pm you if i hear

munsterbuster 07-06-2005 09:10

Clone seems to be possible.

Got this from an nfo-site:
Quote:

mount image with 3.47 Daemon tools install disable your optical drive in the device manager or plug out it mount the image to the drive letter what the game ask!

Talus 07-06-2005 09:32

Well, when I run it mounted with Alcohol I get an error saying 'Emulation Detected, please disable'.

Lame, eh?

Talus 07-06-2005 09:34

Daemon Tools won't work for me either. I don't think I made the image properly then :(

Oh well. I'll try another time.

Until then, back to playing :D

munsterbuster 07-06-2005 09:42

Try anti-blaxx or manipulate the registry manually. Worked with all Secrurom games. Maybe with this one too.

MontyBurns1985 07-06-2005 10:39

GTA - San Andreas

I've already backed up a few games which used "SecuROM 7" as copy protection with "CloneCD 5" and they work! So backing up "GTA - San Andreas" should be no problem!

You can find the actual version of "CloneCD 5" here:

Game must have blacklisted the latest Emulation software. When is the latest Daemon tools being released? They are still mucking about with the latest Beta. The Nforce say that an Image can be mounted with Daemon 3.47, so we should be able to make a working backup (not interested in Warez thanks)

P.S. What Alcohol version are you using?

http://nforce.nl/index.php?m=nfo&id=91733

Should work I would think.

sgtshaft 07-06-2005 11:11

Hoodlum have cracked it!! so couldnt give a toss about backing it up

munsterbuster 07-06-2005 11:14

You still have to watch out. Read it at slow speed and there should be no problem with installing.
Confirm that with hoodlum.

Talus 07-06-2005 11:38

Bleh...I'll just wait for the no-DVD crack then :D

ewbengel 07-06-2005 11:44

use
Grand.Theft.Auto.San.Andreas.Crack.Fix-HOODLUM
it works on winxp (win2k i dont know)
in 4 hours i have finish download the dvd release, then i can upload the crack

Mister_T 07-06-2005 11:45

ewbengel 07-06-2005 11:47

Wohl die gleiche, die werden sich wohl net die Mühe machen, in good old Germany einfach mal so einen anderen Kopierschutz zu nutzen
English: Probably the same coz its not worth to just change the copyprotection for every country hm? :D

doomerdgr8 07-06-2005 12:04

Wow...

Fast developmets here...

LoedD 07-06-2005 12:06

backing this game up should be as easy as Boiling Point and Imp. Glory.
1. Make an image with alcohol using "read DPM2 on high setting
2. burn it 2 DVD and play
2.1 download anti blaxx and use it to play with image
therefore u need this settings:
1 select ur alcohol folder (doesn't work for me with d-tools)
2 choose: restore: after game exits
method: hide entrys
3 then select game executable and protection(securom7)
4 select "mount image", take device0 and select "use alcohol120%)
5 select where the image is located
6 rightclick on taskicon and choose "run game"-->GTA san andre

troubleshooting:
sometimes there are complications and u get the emulation error again.
If that happens simply try again (maybe 5 times :( )
If it still doesn't work manually unmount the image and then try again(2times)
If that doesn't work try it with daemon tools.
Still no effect?
Maybe u should pray 2 god?! :D

OHH Yes they did! :D
there was one game with safedisk in us and securom in ger, but I don't remember the name

but I don't remember the name
Maybe the famous HL 2 ? Or was it FarCry ? Or even older? ;)

Machina 07-06-2005 12:14

OK, I got it to work, but there is this one problem...Alcohol 120% will NOT read DVDs at 1x! Why not? I can only select MAXIMUM for reading DVDs, BUT it lets me read MDS at 1x. Whats up with that?

Muji-FightR 07-06-2005 12:22

It is possible that your DVD-Rom only supports 1x-speed? ;)

this is alright
there is no possibility of changing read speed

AND u dont need 1x speed.
16x was even good enough for SCCT
1x is wasting time :D

Another thing....I made the image several times. I did NOT select SKIP READING ERRORS btw (was I supposed to???)

The game installs from the DVD just fine, but when I install from the image (selecting either MDS or MDF files) then I get a corruption going. I remade the image several times and get the same result.

NO EMUTLATION was enabled.

Talus 07-06-2005 12:34

Yay! Hoodlum cracked it. No more worrying.

LoedD 07-06-2005 12:37

maybe try skip error and take another virtual drive (alcohol, d-tools, clonecd, gamejack5)
if that doesn't work I dunno what u can do. Maybe then the reason is ur DVD drive(2old 2dusty whatever). this is all I can say cuz the release in germany is on friday.
But if installation is ur only problem u could try 2copy all files from DVD 2 a folder on ur HDD and instal it from there

Why don't you buy it from a shop! I know it's a strange way to get a game, but I've found it quite reliable.

What a dreadful thought!! *shudder*

Machina 07-06-2005 13:32

Anyone know where to get blacklist fix for Alcohol 120%?

I am not a customer, so I can't go in customer forum where they have it... I am using trial version.

Uh, I sense another ban...

dyce 07-06-2005 14:16

maybe he is getting it just for the crack? lets hope so. if it was a torrent he would be able to select the crack only instead of the pirated stuff.

Talus 07-06-2005 14:29

Yeah, I would love to download just the crack but I just don't see it.

Whos_Ur_Paddy? 07-06-2005 14:45

its on gcw

Machina 07-06-2005 14:55

I am calling this one a failure...

No matter how I try, I cannot install from the IMAGE on my hard drive that I make with Alc. 120% all settings set right. Maybe blacklisting is the reason. Second, I cannot get the game to work unless I use Anti-blaxx...the online version says you can use just Daemon Tools with theirs and that pisses me off because they somehow did a better job!

ANd my DVD-RW is pretty darn good, not old or anything.

Eiji 07-06-2005 15:00

I read this:

[NUKED] [Grand.Theft.Auto.San.Andreas-HOODLUM] [bad.crack(game.crash.on.3.mission)]

True?

Metafour 07-06-2005 15:01

I bought the game and tried CD Clone to make a backup but it did not work. Where can the crack be found?

You can find the crack on GCW in the news!

Whos_Ur_Paddy? 07-06-2005 16:23

is it true that the game crashes on the 3rd mission with the hoodlum crack ?

Talus 07-06-2005 17:23

I never started using the crack until about an hour ago, so I don't know. I was way past the 3rd mission by then.
