Imperial Glory ...unknown protection...
 

Hi !

Is anybody familiar with the protection of Imperial Glory/ DVD Pyro. I scanned several times by using several tools (clony, protectionId, aso.) but the signiture of protection isn´t recognized.
It detects virtual drives and hasn´t a starforce protection. To me it seems to be a new kind of securom or safedisk or protect-cd detection which isn´t known so far.

Fix it by using Anti-Blaxx :)

has anyone managed to run imperial glory? via anti blaxx or whatever else :)

It works flawlessly with Anti-Blaxx, mounting mdf image (with RMPS) or running burned dvd into optical unit. No problem at all !!!

Imperial Glory/ DVD-Version...works... so far...
 

...so what do you have to do ?

1st. Doing an Image with alc120 in combination with rpms from the org. disk
2nd. Burn the whole thing onto your dvd-media, of course also with rpms.
3rd. Start DemonTools with rpms emulation

And keep in mind: The slower you burn, the better it works.

Start game, should work fine...

This procedure is infact for the german DVD-version.

I think there is also a 3-CD Version existant of this game. It would be nice if someone could post if it also works the same way with the game disk.

Besides: With this procedure you will be able doing copy´s from your original master, you won´t be able doing backups from copy´s. So it´s just a hint for those of you wanting to find a way doing a backup from their expensive master.

Stronghold 2
Empire Earth 2

CD-Versions, by choosing Read-Method Securom V4/v5, rpms on the gamedisk and demontools.

yeah it's all right, campaign's a bit slow n all but still it's fun :)

1. Turn on all emulation in daemon tools (I couldn't be bothered to select one and one protection for what is needed, so might as well just click enable all)
2. Mount image
3. Run anti-blaxx, choose securom7 and program exe
4. Run game and have fun

no function with anti blaxx

i´ve done everething you describe above, but after i start anti blaxx i got the message "turn off emulation software" or "please insert the original disk".
whats wrong?

can you give me a detailed describtion with all parameters?



my settings:

where are the emulations exe: ok (daemontool and alc120)
restore: after the game exits
method: hide or delete entrys? (i have done both but no different)

securom 7 on: ok
klick where the imperial glory exe is: ok

alright:
now i´ve set without mount image and "intelligent stealth"
nothing happens

with "mount image":
klick where the image is: ok
device: i´ve test it all (without anyone or device 1-3)

the game doesn´t start.....

i install anti blaxx. after start i got the message "beim laden der konfiguration ist ein fehler passiert! alle einstellungen werden zurückgesetzt."
is this why the game does not start?

Ok the game works fine until battle is involved. When a fight its about to commence its just loads and restarts my pc. Anybody else had a similar problem?

how I got my backup copy 2 work!

install game!

make an image from original ;)

make sure .b5t name is the same as .b5I
copy b5t name 2 the b5i if different to each other

then use Alcohol 120
check RMPS, under emulation is checked
Under Extra Emulation have sub-channel data fixed and emulation checked
in general, allow only 1 copy of alcohol .. burn backup dvd

get antiblaxx-install

restart computer <-a must do

run antiblaxx
in taskbar right click antiblaxx
(if asked for a name use default or rename to your own,default being gamename.)
go to settings
go down to game
find your dvd drive with copied backup
find .exe
use secuRom7
hit close, not exit
right
right click in taskbar antiblaxx
use run game gamename
and the game runs
now you can put your Gamedvd in its box! and use the backup! ;))

but i got the same error massage i´ve written sometimes before in this thread.

what is wrong?
is there another way to start the game? (like with demo exe or something else?)

Yeah.. It does the same on my pc.. But in my case i was browsing the quests page..

I only followed the install introduction and it runs without any problems

Install txt:

Imperial Glory

1. Use BlindWrite v5.2.16 with Automatic profile to
burn using 4x write speed or lower.
2. Install.
3. Play!

I tried using the ImperialGloryDemo.exe in the actual folder, and it ran the startup graphics (eidoes, pyro, etc) but then the game closed. Dang!

Ive tried everything you guys have said and no dice, keeps saying to insert the original disc.

Edit: This is for everone that cant get it working, FINALLY i got it.
Here's what I did...
At first i tried everything everyone above tried, then tried the demo exe then i uninstalled anti blaxx.

I was bored several hours later and decided to try again. Downlaoded 1.16 Anti Blaxx again, enabled all emulation on Daemon (was already done) but I also enabled ALL OPTIONS (right click, click options) in daemon tools.
I then opened Anti Blaxx, went to Setting and just input the target exe (which i pointed to the exe coming on the image from daemon). No mount image, no nothing else. I didnt even tell anti blaxx where daemon.exe was located. And I hit run game on anti blaxx and was surprised to see eidos pop up. Good luck

I reinstalled it and works fine!

Here's how I got it to work:

I have latest Alcohol installed with RMPS activated and I don't have Daemon Tools installed. But I installed latest BlindWrite to make a copy of the DVD. I used BlindWrite Tweaker to start BlindWrite and left all of the settings at default. I.e. Autoplay is enabled. (PS I burned at 4X.)

I made a good copy and it worked fine, so I uninstalled BlindWrite. Ahh...but now it doesn't work anymore and I get the Insert Correct Disk Error.

Sooo...I re-installed BlindWrite and now it works. My theory is that you have to have the Patin-Couffin drivers (from BW) installed to get this to work.

I found a way
 

I got it to work using thr following ways

1. I have Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120%, Anti-Baxx
2. I have a image of Imperial glory 1st cd with Alcohol 120% image with all options and extra options on.
3. When burning image remember to click on dpm and fast skip errors.
4. Run it on 32x just to be safe.
5. Once you made an image you load it onto Daemon Tools.
6. Check all options on Daemon Tools on and mount the image on device 0.
7. Run Anti-Baxx and right click on it on the right hand bottom corner.
8. Browse for the Daemon exe file and the Alcohol exe.
9. choose securom V.7 and click on Daemon Tools emulation to use it.(you can also use Alcohol but i haven't check it).
10. Click and browse for the Imperial Glory exe file.
11. Make sure you choose device 0 and and browse for the image on the desktop.
12. Also close Daemon Tools and keep emulation options on.
13. Keep Anti-Baxx on and use Iteligent Stealth.
14. Click on Imperial glory exe and it's done.
15. It might not work the first time but you can exit anti-baxx and click on Iteligent Stealth again and click on the exe on the desktop.
16. You have to exit Anti-Baxx everytime you exit Imperial Glory if you want to go in again.


NOTICE*** This guide is for people who bought Imperial Glory legally.

I'm still getting the cannot validate dvd mssgs.

I don't have any pyshical dvd drives in my pc and I do have 2 virtual ones that I cannot seem to remove.

This also causes problems when reinstalling deamon tools

Can anybody help me out with this one??

Why would you buy a game on DVD if you don't have a DVD Drive?

I've heard this game is also available on 3 CD's. Why don't you take it back to the store and try and get that version?

Because he doesnt have it very legal (there is only a illegal dvd version)

Yes. I just got that after having it installed for one day. Have to wait and see what happens in 3 more days.

I find it quite fishy that this nag screen comes up a day later.

Hopefully someone can use this file to make a real No-DVD patch that doesn't have a time limit.

hi everybody this is my first post on the forums but hopefully a useful one

i too get the 3day expiry, rather than waiting 3 days i changed my time settings on windows to june and now get the following message "Sorry, but license data has expired, Please contact the software provider to update the software or extend the license" and needless to say the game don't work

however popped my clock back to present day and get 3 day message again, maybe every time i want to play the game i'll just put my clock back to the day i installed it.

does anyone else think this likely to work?

eidos released an unprotected exe for those who have copy protection problems.

I believe that we are talking about the same file here. The link I gave was to the one from Eidos, and it has a time limit.

Sorry, for my english, but I´ll try my best.
I changed my time settings on windows to the 4th of jun.
Now I get the same message (License...).
Then I put the clock back to today.I get the same message.
Than I unistall the game after that I dowload the (secur...patch)
replace this file to the gamedir and now I don´t get the message (3days) ,
I get the same message before I uninstall.

Than I install the first time the game on my notebook and use the same patch.
There I get the (3 day message)

I also hope there will come a real nocd patch

GameCopyWorld has now hosted the Eidos No-DVD patch, but it's nuked. Here is a copy of the email I sent GCW:

"The older No-DVD patch from Eidos for Imperial Glory had a time bomb in it and it will expire on Wednesday June 1st.

The one that is available direct from the SecuROM website has been changed and not only has copy protection, but has been altered to detect working DVD copies that had been working before.

In other words, I was able to make a working backup on DVD of Imperial Glory (1.0 US) that I bought. I had to have the disk in the drive, but at least my original was safe. I then saw on the Eidos forum (last Friday?) that they had a No-DVD patch for people who were having problems with the copy protection when the original disk was in the drive. I used this and it seemed to work great, until Sunday May 29. At that point a nag screen would appear informing me that "This license will expire in 3 days." The game will still run after this screen. I set my PC clock ahead and the license has indeed expired and the game no longer runs.

I re-downloaded the No-DVD patch from SecuROM today and now it says that it cannot find the Disk in the drive and it will not run. This happens with my backup disk and with no disk in drive. But it does run fine with the original disk.

So I went back to my original ImperialGlory.exe (which I had saved) and now it gives me the same error as the new No-DVD patch from SecuROM. So obviously this so-called patch has altered other game files to prevent people from using their backup disk.

From my own research I have found that a group called HOODLUM has apparently made a real No-DVD crack. I saw the NFO for it at http://XXX.XXXXXX.XXX I haven't tried it because I have no idea how (or desire) to download warez. However, I thought you might be interested in looking into this.
