No cd Patches for Vice City
 

hey i am looking for a no cd patch for gta vice city.

Look on GCW then (thats here by the way ;) There's one here. Hint for future reference. Use the search button and you will normally find what you seek.

i looked for one on GCW but couldn't find one. i am probably blind.

ok i did that and i see a list of downloadable files. which one is the no cd patch? (maybe we could name it gta 3 no cd patch) thanks coffin in advance,

ok are you running a 1.0 version of vice city ?. (not updated it i mean) If you havent updated vice-city then simply D/L v1.0 nocd crack or fixed exe. If i remember correctly GCW may not host it actually. Goto www.megagames.com or gamefix.com (there both able to be linked to from here if you enter the sticky "where to get nocd/cracks from" or something like that

Yep i just looked and its not on GCW only trainers and cheats. Its deffinatly on megagames as i just looked it up for you

well this is my first time trying to get a no cd hack or what ever it is called. could you give me a link to the part of megagames where i can download it i am already searching the site.

Bahhh to MG, lowlife scum that they are lol

Their staff are more into keeping numbers, and just closing threads instead of banning them (which means more of the same but in increasing numbers to the point its unmanageable), but when you want to help, they stick a block on known IP's ive used to get a fake hosting page, as if they would catch me out on that, and me a long time member there also.

whats the difference between gta 3 and gta vice city? I have vice city. I am downloading the first one on this list http://www.megagames.com/cracks/html/c908780_0.htm . ok i unziped it and then i clicked on it and it says " This aplication has failed to start because of mss32.dll was not found. Re-installing the aplication may fix the problem.

what should i do now?

well its still not working and no idea why. same problem. if anybody knows how to fix the problem please tell me.

Go to dll.com (I think its called) and download the mss32.dll file from there! ;)

GTA 3 and GTA Vice City are 2 different games! Vice City is newer than GTA3.
The crack you have downloaded needs to be copied to wherever the game is installed. You need to replace the original 'gta-vc.exe' with the cracked one!
Make sure you rename or copy your original file first before overwriting it! You more than likely got the mss.dll error message because you tried to run that nocd crack from the wrong directory!

And if Grumpy's post was a bit to technical for you (as your a noOb) then here a simple step by step.
1: Full install of Vice-city
2: Download the crack which is the same version of game (v1.0 is default)
3: UnZip the file you downloaded putting the exe (gta-vc.exe) into a folder on your desktop.
4:Goto the directory where you installed vice-city. (Default is normally "Program Files" which can be acessed by going into "my computer" then go into your hard-drive (Default C: and then into "program files". I think the folder where vice-city is installed is called "Rockstar Games" if memory serves.
5: You need to backup the original exe (it will have the same picture as the cracked exe when you unzipped it and put into a folder) Reason to backup original exe is incase you want to update/patch the game you will need to put the original exe back.
6:Now you need to copy the cracked exe (goto folder where you unzipped it and right click on the icon/select copy.
7:Go into folder where game is installed (Rockstar) and right click/select paste and you will be asked if you want to overright the exe which you do. (when you paste the exe it needs to be in the same folder as the exe you are over-righting.You will know if it is as you will be prompted to over-righ it).
8:Now use the short cut on your desktop or in start menu to play the game. Enjoy ;) ......There are other ways to apply a crack (quicker ways) but in my opinion the way i have explained suites you best as your very new to this.
You need to make-sure you have the latest version of winrar installed on your PC when unzipping crack etc. Other proggies can be used if you perfer. There's a link to D/L WinRar here @ GCW in one of the stickies. The only reason i did a dumbies guide is because you stated lastnight to me that you had never done this before. There is also a stickie with instructions @ GCW but you will need to know the basics to understand it.
