Request for Project Snowblind CD Fix

I need a No CD fix for project snowblind please. I waited 2 weeks. Thanks

noob 29-03-2005 00:55

There simply isn't one available at the moment mate.
Bloody thing runs like a slideshow on my P4 2.66, 1Gb Ram, X800XT PE rig, so I'm looking out for a nocd too in case it makes it playable for me. That or a patch from the developers. :(

Try a different set of Catalyst drivers. nVIDIA cards had a similar symptom as your when the game was run with the 71.84 drivers. In order to get normal framerates, I changed my drivers to the 76.41 beta set.

For ATI cards, you could try an older set and see what happens.

zellar 29-03-2005 05:17

66.93

I had the same slideshow on my P4 2.4 with a FX5700 and 1gig ram until I changed the drivers to 66.93

I was addressing my comment to the person who was suffering from the ultra-slow playrate.

As for the No-CD, it isn't out yet so play with your original till then.

-dude- 30-03-2005 14:49

As soon as there's a generic crack for SecuROM 7, there will be a no-cd fix for Project Snowblind. Patience.

:) :)

vampayne 30-03-2005 21:44

Also does Snowblind require a cd key. I didn't see one in the case.

Thc 31-03-2005 02:38

Project Snowblind NoCD fix

Burn the game with Blindwrite 5.2,
then you don't need a nocd fix to play the game

Eh? If you own the original you would have installed and seen if it needed one or not.

Ahhhh but this not true. When burning a game with blindwrite or clonecd etc etc a 1.1 copy need's to be made in order to be able to play without a crack/fixed exe (providing its protected in the 1st place of course). And as im sure some of you are aware a 1.1 copy isnt only software related its hardware related to so AThumbTack would of been right in what he said. As would Thc + Optimummind because they obviously made 1.1 backup's for their perticular drives. Dont be so quick to say some-one is wrong unless you are extremley rarely wrong yourself which is extremley rare in its self :p

If for some reason you can't make a 1:1 try this.

Use regedit.

Go to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Then SYSTEM
Look for a listing that says MountedDevices
Right click and choose PERMISSIONS
Highlight Administrators on the top box then look for the listing on the bottom box that says READ.
Now place a check mark in the DENY box on the READ line.
Hit APPLY, then OK and you're done.

Works for Project: Snowblind no problem and it uses SR7. What is does is deny Safedisk access to the CD/DVD to verify, so SD assumes your copy is legit and the game starts.

Just remember to always make a backup of your registry before making any changes. I have not had one single issue.

Sorry this works if you have backup or image of your game in your CD/DVD drive or virutal Drive. Forgot about that.

shoany 01-04-2005 22:23

dantivirus: tried this just now to no avail. even tried checking deny/read on each and every item under Mounted Devices. Am I missing something? It doesn't seem to make a difference; still detecting emu.

You dont understand do you, they dont make cracks here they upload em for you to get.

And dont take it personally but I highly doubt you had the original in the first place hence why your really needing the no-cd badly.

does that stand here somewhere? why you going around and tell stuff you donīt even even know if itīs true? stabbing other users without a reason is quiet cool.
youīre such a clean boy, arenīt you?

Advocate 02-04-2005 19:12

Thanx

Thanks for posting the regedit advice.

I also wamted to point out my frustration with the slow game play even on my computer which is a:

AMD 3200+ 64
Asus A8N Sli deluxe motherboard
2 X N6600 Gt running in SLI
1 Gig of RAm
2X SATA drivers.

I don't know what they where thinking but hopefully there is a patch soon

I am going to try the beta drivers

Calling the kettle black, comes to mind.

Over the years you kinda pick up a six sense on these things, and you know who has or who hasn't.

Think of it this way, if he did give it out to a friend, if he was desperate to play he would ask for it back pronto, no?

Advocate 03-04-2005 00:13

Tried the beta

Well I tried the beta drivers and all it does is crashes and reboots.

Any ideas

DABhand i apologize. your sixth sense was right, i guess. :(

DABhand 04-04-2005 07:23

Tis ok :) No Offence taken etc :)

PacMaan 04-04-2005 13:01

Daemon Tools wont run on my PC so iconverted it to a BiN/cue format and mounted it with Alcohol - it installed fine but when i run the game it bombs out with "emulator detected please deactivate virtual drives" (yeah, RIGHT lol)

Is there a reg fix for Alcohol like the Daemon tools one listed earlier??

I know people say it aint all that but i really need to get it working....not cos i'm desperate to play it, but because its now become a principal thing i refuse to let my PC get the better of me  i swear i can hear it laughing at me now - help!!1  :D

Isis192 04-04-2005 13:56
