Wow&lineageII
Hello, Can i play lineage or lineageII offline?
Also world of warcraft? |
??
These are ONLINE games DESIGNED to be played ONLINE as there is no Single Player mode built in. There is no point buying these games unless you are going to play them over the internet and like the idea of buying games where you have to keep paying to play them. |
I have willingly stopped (for a week now) playing wow (after being a lvl32) and yes, you'd think WOW could be played offline (if you downloaded the whole realm) cause 90% of it is solo-able.
The next step is cancelling my account, which I don't have enough willpower to do. |
There are now 2 cracks that allow you to play WoW offline! From testing it I can say that it's a bit flakey though. Not all of the NPC are there and your Armor is way off.
|
lol
15 dollars a month is seriously nothing if you're getting even min-wage. for me it was more about keeping my marriage |
i understand you perfectly tbaher, i had the same problem back when i used to play ultima online...
|
Luciel how old are you?are/were you married?
|
nope, not married, but engaged (am, not where), nearly ****ed it up cos of the stupidd MMO addiction.
|
Wow did this ever go off topic.
|
Just points out how these online games can be social life wreckers!
I could write pages on why I hate online games, but I won't! Suffice to say a mate just cancelled his Final Fantasy Online account after 9 months because everytime I went to see him he was playing it and his wife and me was getting sick of it. He looked at how much time he'd spent online and it was 5 out of the 9 months! That's 150 days or 3,600 HOURS or 6.25 hours/day! Now that's either addiction, or compulsion due to having to pay each month to play! Sad thing is now him and one of his kids are playing WOW, and he's just as bad so his wife is back to square one and I don't bother going round as often now, so it's affected my social life too and I don't play the damn thing! |
I played Asheron's Call for over 2000 hours and I thought that was bad. Oh, but that was over 3 years.
That's why I wanted to find an off line way of playing these games. I would love to play but don't want to be hooked by other people. |
I think this should be moved to general gaming :)
Having said that, I have just canceled my subscription and upgraded my Cable TV channels (I used to get 1-26 now it is 1-78).. I think it's more entertaining watch TV and use the weather channel, sci-fi channel, history channel, etc.. But yeah, I am definately off the game (Last login was February 17, 2005) We will see. I was previously hooked on Magic: The Gathering, and Pirates. But those were not even PC games, still same concept of endless money and my very low willpower :) Good luck to all addicts of everything ;) |

Also is there any patch which i can play offline lineage2 or wow?
|
There is a crack for WoW but you can't do every thing. It lets you run around and kill things but most of the NPC's aren't there and the armor is all messed up. I was running around at level 6 and killing things that where level 25. If anyone else knows of a patch that works propperly please let me know.
Thanks |
this reminds me off my worst addicted week ever, wich i didnt even enjoy, i kept telling GRUMPY everyday about what was happening (remember grumpy?) the game was time of defiance, it was a nerve recker.
|
Yes I remember it well. :) Twas the time I could never get hold of you! And I just thought you were in love. :p :D
|
it was bitter love, cos I REALLY HATED IT, yet i couldnt let go.

I understand that cracks are cool in that they are convenient, I don't wanna go fetch the CD everytime I play. But a crack for an online game that doesn't even need CDs to play, just so you can play offline, is like finding a crack for hotmail that lets you use it offline. It would work, but why? The best thing about WOW is grouping and guilds and so on. If you want to turn it into diablo that's fine. Oh and it's illegal to patch WOW so you can play offline (real the EULA). There are very few ways to "mod" WOW that are allowed, like UI Mods etc.. What I want to see is more patches that let us play games that don't have "directIP" (like LOTR BFME) in a LAN. Or having COOP play enabled in games that don't have COOP on the PC (but have it on the XBOX for instance, like HALO) Not patches that castrate games. Edit: made it clearer with quotes |
@tbaher
lol, I think you misunderstood my patch joke? I wasnt saying to use a patch to play, I was asking if you take something (a patch) to stop the cravings. Similiar to those nicotine patches smokers use when giving up smoking. lol. :p |
Naah I got the joke and laughed..
The rest was about something else :) I edited to make it clearer... The easiest way to get over a MMORPG is to play a regular RPG for a bit like KOTOR2... and realize that WOW has no story :) Women have a similar saying about getting over men. :p |

Online game addicion? Hell, YEAH! I'm not an MMORPG fan, never was. But guess what? Did you hear that Anarchy Online gone free? I mean FunCom made the onriginal game(no exp. pack included) free of charge(no monthly fee) until january 2006. Is that cool? Well, I say IT'S BAD! It's so bad that it is wrecking havoc in my social life right now. And the finances too. My schoolmate told me the other day, that AO is free. We instaled the client at school and at home, and on every single Informatics class we play. (At home too). I say that it already f*cked my grades, becouse I never listen to the teacher. And my social life too. My girfriend already complainnig about neglecting her. And I have a Dial-Up connection, so IT COSTS MONEY! HUGE AMMOUNT OF MONEY! Just to stay online. For a little 1 month of playing i got to lvl 10. That's good, but AO has 220 lvls! So it looks like I have to play 22 months to peek the lvl. But the free acc is only valid until jan 2006. See? Funcom realized it that you wont stop at lvl 10 and if you wish to be 220 lvl, you have to PAY!
Does anyone know a patch or chewing gum, or the like that can take me off this cr*p without getting the shakes and craves? :( If continues like this I will go bankrupt, my girlfriend will leave me and I'll get fcked in Informatics class. HEEEEEELP! |
just think about it and decide if you want to be that person.
I've seen a complete train-wreck personality IRL. He doesn't know how to talk to people, he's always day-dreaming. Can't wait to get back to WOW. Paying is part of why it is addictive. The compulsion to play as much as you can cause you're paying for it. Everything is good in moderation. The problem with WOW or any MMORPG is that it is very very slow and boring by other games standards. I can play Star wars republic commando for instance for a whole month because I only play less than 6 hours a week. WOW is garbage if you only play 6 hours a week or less. So you can't play it in moderation and still have fun. At least I can't. Just my 2 cents Edit: He was 35ish and will never get laid. Seeing him + taking my friends advice about "not liking to see anyone NEED something like WOW" got me off of it. I play other games too now ;) |
There's da point Tbaher!!! You are absolutely right. I had to get off AO.
AND I DID!!! Guess what? I was wandering in the biiiig mall, the Westend City Center, on Budapest and i suddenly noticed a PC games shop. Went right in and browsed for a while. And I noticed the box of SW: Kotor 2. My friend sweared his life on it, that thats the greatest game ever made. I bough it, took it home and installed it. Guess what after that? AO IS GONE FOR SURE!!! I play KotOR now, and for (well, relatively) free. No creeps, no shakes, for AO or any MMO sh*t. You were right: Moderation is the key here. I play only approx 2 hours a day, and I'm all right. My girlfriend is *satisfied* , my money is safe and my Informatics grade is slowly catching up again. THX TBAHER (and thx Lucas Arts :D ) |
well after some years games become an addict...i say yes to MMRPG to strategy to action to rpg to racing(only fs) but never...never sports and adventure)except some old stuff ex.sam&max full throttle and such masterpieces)
|
I thought Runaway was as good too.. and of course the Longest Journey...
Syberia 1 & 2 are ok too... You should never be addicted to anything to the point where you "need" it... especially if it's something like a computer game.. (basic things, like food.. etc.. don't even count) @play.. you're welcome :) |
MMO kills people! REAL PEOPLE!!!
Quote:
Don't ever get addicted to a MMO sh*t, or you get *killed*. Take a word from an ex MMO addict: DON'T DO THAT!! And for the other: Adventure games should stay. Like Syberia and Runaway. Those are great games. That needs brainpowa, not reflexes. Adventure games didn't killed anybody ever. It pups your brain, and not your adrenaline... |
You had my complete respect until you said "brainpowa"
j/k |

Don't get me wrong tbaher, I had to type fast... Anyway, what's your problem with that? I dont get it... You have my respect, you are a good man... :) |
j/k = just kidding...
it's this whole mature conversation that has a word that only immature people use (supposedly, kinda like leet-speak) So i made a joke about it... I hope you took no offense :) |
No offense taken tbaherm just, I didn't seen that j/k sign until now! It is good to know, after all :p
And sorry for my speech, but I had to type fast(called on phone), besides i think that leet-speech is actually funny ;) . I don't use it often, but I put a word here and there, if I want to be funny :D I know I'm such an idiot, but I like myself just as I am :D (see my signiture, that tells you my motto ;) ) |

Yeah it was one of those ultra rare one of a kind swords.
He let someone borrow it in the game, and in turn the guy sold it on ebay or something, and then the other guy got upset, guy offered the money to him, but he stabbed him instead. Sad sad sad. |
I would have totally taken the money... and then QUIT the game... and retired :)
|
Now that's why I DID quit MMO games for good. I don't like thaose things happening to certain ppl, just like this stabbing incident. I fear this world will soon be doomed if it continues like this...
|
please
hey fellows
i heard on of u talking bout a crack for WOW but it is not 100% functional no problem how can i get it if you want to send me an e-mail with the link or the file ill be very happy for that can u my e-mail is: [email protected] please send it to me |
Jordan.. cool..
(Egypt here) Is $15/mo a lot for you? ;) |
i played on an internet cafe world of warcraft but in the unofficial servers.not blizzard servers.....and saw that the graphic really suck...kinda carton.is it the same on blizzards servers???i wanted to buy the game but i saw the grafics and hated it...instead i preffer now matrix online!!!!
|
Still addicted huh? :( I'm sorry for you all... :(
Luci: MMO games are all resource efficents, due to bandwith limitations. The game must support thousands of gamers per server and this indeed f*cks the graphichs a lot. This is MMO, sorry  Don't ever expect to see Online games look like HL2 in it's full glory. At least not in this century  Anyway, real obsessed mmo fans don't care a bit about graphics. They play becouse of the feeling, the people around there, and addiciton. Don't become one of them, you'll be sorry for it i can guarantee that :( Read my earlier posts for ref. :( Play Stronghold 2. That game rocks! :D |
