Modbo
 

Hi,

Does anybody know about MODBO modchip? I think it's the latestest mod chip, but I'm not sure how good it is. I'm trying to decide between MODBO and Matrix Infinity for my 15000 Japanese PS2. If anybody has any information about the quality of the chip and how it compares with MI, I'd greatly appreciate it.

The Modbo is nothing more then a MI firmware rip! Its an out an out clone! And looks like garbage and has a dumb ass name.... Modbo it just sounds stupid dont it! lol, thing is they actualy do work with the flash built in the chip. If you get the infinity update from there site it wont work because of the different type chips used and the layout of the ic chips. some people will know this. All that needs to be done is for modbo to edit the code. But i would use matrix its very good.

Yes, and Hull is a good installer. If they Rattled his cage then i am sure it would do the same to me and alot of other installers. Everyone should take his advise and stay clear. I know i am.

Ok I've played with the modbo a bit more since my last post (I had to cos the manufacturer is no help :mad: ) & I'll say yes it does actually work if you amend the installation diagram :eek: (which I'm sure everybody does automatically!). It's got the 1.33 bios but works fine in a v12. Like I say, you have to amend the diagram for it to work on a pal machine but I'm not gonna tell you how precisely.

Once you flash it, you have a useless chip so don't bother! Its a budget end cheap chip which in my opinion is overpriced.

Its unfair to compare it with the Infinity, Crystal etc etc but holds its own when compared to the Mars & other cheap chinese mods. If you're considering the Matrix Infinity then go with that because the Modbo will dissapoint. If however you're a tite/skint southern shandy drinkin poofter........... the modbo will probably work just fine.

Im getting the same problems as you, that is, dvd-r media not booting in v9 PAL PS2. Is the fix installing the H wire? Thanks.

erm i ve had about 8 infinitys 3 duos and im getting a crystal now.

Bugger my secret is out :D I've not tested on all versions so can't say for sure but it looks like you need the H wire for versions 9-12 but not 3-7. When you do get it working DO NOT flash it!

Wow sean you must be on your third roll of wire :D :D :D

ROTFLMAO :D , come on now. I'm sure the wires will get shorter with experience :) .

hi everyone, does anyone know where the diagrams are for a install to a scph75003 slimline console are with aq gh-037-32 motherboard, i think i have all points on ok apart from the y point and the laserfix, any help would be greatly appreciated
