Settler5 Back up prob!
The Game is out now! Got it today!
I tried to make a backup with alcohol! But it is still asking for the dvd! Imounted the alc image in the alc virtual drive like i always do! Somebody who can tell me how to back it up correctely? If i back it up with alcohol i cannot choose Safedisk......(the way how alcohol schould read it out)! I think because it is a dvd! |
I've the same problem with the Settler 5 - DVD.
When i copy all files to a folder on my HD and try to install from there, setup tells me for almost each file "It's not the same like in the cab archive". Same error when i try to install from a image, made with Alcohol 120%. Starting the game with this image in virtual drive don't gives me the "Please insert correct DVD" - message, but also didn't start the game. It just closed the process (seen in TaskManager). I think we have to wait (two weeks at least) until a crack is released. If anyone knows how to make a fixed mini image of a Safedisc protected DVD, please let me know. |
also wanted to backup my original with alcohol, but doesnīt seem to work.
A-ray Scanner says itīs SafeDisc 4.00.000 Donīt have a clue how to backup |
Got the German DVD Version and same problem.
Protection ID tells me Safedisk 4.00.00. |
settlers *shivvers* its the one strategy game i can never like, it was so annoying hehehe

Oh my gosh
Tried the whole day! And what can i say...... Mount it with daemon tools and..... :D works great! Feel like a bloody noob  |
LoL
I tried before to mount with Daemon Tools and getting a CD Emu detected Error. Now i figured out it was damn Alcohol Virtual Drives !!!! Thanks for info - now my image works as virtual daemon drive, at least. But still no solution for a 1:1 copy. Edit: I have made 2 images now with 2 different applications. I checked them and they have exactly 6 different bytes by the diff of 8 bytes. Maybe i find a "no-crack" backup solution *gg* LoL - now i am confused As you know i checked the 2 images against each other and found 6 different positions. Now i scanned the CD with a HexEditor too and found out that none of the images are correct. I try now to create my own "correct" image and burn it. |
I made a image of the german dvd with alc120. Mount it with DAEMON Tools. Enable all emulation. Then it works without a problem.

CDKiller was telling (http://www.fileforums.com/showpost.p...&postcount=292), that the new Safedisc protected exe-files (Knight Rider 2 for example) don't have the Safedisc Version ID in it.
But PID5.0 Final b tells me Safedisc 4.00.000 at the SettlerHoK.exe !!! It really seems there are two different version of new Safedisc protection released. |
As far as I know alcohol is not able to make a 1:1 Backup of DVD Games!
As you can see in their forums, they said that they will fix that with the next version! So we have to wait for it! Cause the No CD Solution is nothing for me. After every Patch you need a new one! And hey, they all(every game) need to be patched! |

Yes, it workz great! :D |
Anyone tested the mini image posted here on gcw?????
|
works with the German version and I think it will work with alle versions of the game since exe files are the same. At least it was the case in NFSU2 and FlatOut. But i did a better one which is less than half the size and the game runs stiff perfect when using Daemon Tools.

Close all CD-Emulation applications
That game is really cool, but I can't get the image to work. :(
I followed all the instructions, but everytime I try to start Settlers it says I have to close all CD/DVD emulation applications (translation from german - not sure what it would say in english). Is there a way around that? Didn't you all get it? I am using Daemon tools 3.47 and enabled all emulations. Solution? or wait for a crack? AngryAngel |
Works!!!
OMG! I'm so happy! It works!
just tried the new crack/image by SKULL and that did it. Thx m8. AngryAngel |
