Does someone now if Halo 3 is coming to the first xbox?
I heard rumors about it coming on xbox 2.
|
Well... my good buddy ol pal that works for a retail store.....He went to Microsoft's big bash in Florida last month before the release.....Remember the movie you could download for the teaser of Halo 2?? The part where Master Chief flys through the air and lskids across and metal and then those pods start to come down and the elites or guys with the swords pop out and he gets ready to throw a grenade. Then his partnet or whoever says...."Betcha can't stick it"
That was Halo 3...Or so the rumors go. That part is nowhere in the game and we have beat it on every level except legendary so far.....So sometime by Xmas of 06 or Spring 06...Xbox 2 and the launch title...Halo 3....probably....What would be better than that...Halo was the launch title for Xbox and it ruled the earth....or at least Delaware.....hehe....Just my two cents....Oh and I read somwhere that We did not really land on the moon and JFK was killed by the Three stooges....But this could all be talk :-) |
Never played the game, but from what I have been reading, if you complete the game on legendary, supposedly the date February 9th is flashed on screen briefly. Maybe that has something to with Halo 3
|
That was the E3 demo... That was also the entire halo 2 game at the time. They literally had nothing to show, so they put that together as quick as possible to have a realtime demo in E3. They hadn't even had much of a storyline, or the maps they will be creating. It was halo 2, and like many games previews, was just a concept. That part wasn't in the game because they chose to leave it it. They decided to create that other similar earth level to better fit the storyline. Halo 2 was so short because they ran out of time. My guess is so they can start to develope H3 as a launch title.
Rumor has it that the xbox 2 will be released in november 2005. Why? Though inside sources could not state any information about the games or their titles, many xbox 2 titles have a november 2005 release date. That may be a hint, or just an unofficial date set by publishers. Halo 2 will not likely be an xbox title. If xbox 2 is coming november, then it for sure will be out for xbox 2. If not, then they will take advantage of the time. I doubt they will release a very popular game at the very end of a consoles life, rather than using it to boost sale in the xbox 2. If the xbox 2 works with xbox games, then there might be a slim chance as an xbox title. |
I know for almost a dead fact that halo 3 will be for xbox 2. First thing is that it's already in development, it began the moment halo 2 was done. Second off that's why the story was so quickly cut in half in halo 2 as well, they wanted people to be screaming for the next chapter...what better way to make your money than bundle it up as a launch title and even if it isn't a release title for Xbox 2 it would definitely be a contender with any game Sony could throw out there for PS3.
|
Yea and from what I hear it wasn't a follow up people were screaming about. It was the crappy ending they were screaming about. I haven't even finished the game but I've lost all will because of all the disappointed good hearted - red blooded - spending most of your paycheck on - die hard gamer - anticipating the game for most of this lifetime - halo fans.
It's time for tea! Cherio.. Bob Saget Rules. Paul Walker is an alien. Emilio Estevez shot JFK. |

Hey Joy what makes my statement seem fanboyish. I would like to know since I definitely ain't no fanboy.
|
it can only be a contender in the fps market. Comparing gta:sa or the FF series would not make sense.
|
Well a feather in the cap is a feather in a cap. I personally think Sony has the upper hand with titles like GTA and Final Fantasy in their stable and Microsoft needs comparible titles in each of those genres. They're hot selling and established games that will bring in revenue for Sony and I'm just comparing Halo 3 the same way. Personally I like the xbox but I play my ps2 a whole lot more.
|
I like the old worldmap rpg's. It gave the sense of explorations and more sidequests. I hated it when the FF series stopped. I am however re-discovering snes and unplayed ps1 rpg's though.
|
My favorite Ps1 RPG is wild arms. The graphics weren't great but the wild west feel and story were fantastic. Give it a shot Quall, I think you'll get a kick out of it.

OK, I take that fanboy comment back. I basically misunderstood something that you said, MrCaine. Personally, I dont believe that Microsoft have a killer app that can shift consoles. Show me some sales figures that show an increase in console sales when HALO 2 was released and I'll eat my hat. That means format exclusive, not something like FIFA or, erm, whatever other huge multiformat titles are out there. I've read on multiple games sites that it was mainly people who already owned an Xbox went ahead and purchased HALO 2.
SONY have some huge franchises, which will constantly be milked in order to keep the 'kwan' coming in. Titles like Gran Turismo and Grand Theft Auto (GT being SONY's biggest inhouse franchise and GTA being the biggest Franchise in gaming now), have proven that they can sell consoles. Just go back and see how the sales for PS2 consoles increased when GT3 came out, and then sales went up again when San Andreas came out. Show me one Xbox/Xbox 2 game that can/will do that? Nintendo has the mascots, which have been massively abused since SONY entered the market (and hey, lets not forget we have Nintendo to thank for SONY even being in the market). In my opinion, Nintendo do.... blah blah blah. I cant even think of what to post for Nintendo at the moment. Hey, thread got jacked several times before and after I posted here. Thought I would drop in another 2 cents to keep the meter running  |
I lost hope in Nintendo. They have always been "trying new things", which is good, but I think they started sucking when they decided to do it to games instead of just hardware.
I think I will wait about 2 years before getting any new consoles. Then there would be a variety to choose from to see what games I like and how they play. If MS doesn't pop in some more rpg's in the xbox 2, i simply will not buy it. They DROPPED their 2 biggest rpgs THIS YEAR, which were looked forward to since the console came out. Like a month before the release date they said "sry, the game is canceled". Just thinking about it is pissing me off. I have to say though, if sony makes a ff game with a world map and a bajillion side quests like the past, xbox 2 will probably not be an option.....then again, i will likely end up with both the xbox2 and ps3. |

I never thought that the xbox's stable of games were actually any good to begin with and I was incredibly unimpressed with the launch. We had like 30 xboxes the day it launched and they just sat there collecting dust. After week one we still had a first shipment (we still had 23 left and seven out of 30 in the first week is terrible sales) Xbox actually didn;t pick up until it came out that you could mod it and then we seemed to be selling a shipment around every two weeks or so. Compare that to the PS2 which we ran through six shipments in a week and a half ON it second year of release in the same time span and I knew who had won the console war. I think that MS relasing the xbox 2 next year in the end of 2205 isn't a good idea either. Sony sure ins't gonna panic like MS thinks they will for the simple fact that they have the delveopers of some of the most beloved and hot selling franchises in their poicket...and I know all xbox fans will say that they get GTA games as well but it usually over six months later with NO improvements or additions so is it really worth it for us that have already played it?

Me neither, I think thats like 200 years too late. Tyler! |
The xbox was 300 dollars when it launched and so was the Ps2 which was outselling it like 30 to one at that time. The new xbox has to come up with higher calibur games from 3rd party developers like a rpg of a final fantasy calibur to oust Sony. As long as Sony corners the RPG market and platformer market it's gonna have a large amount of control. Son'y not gonna panic over the xbox 2 for the simple fact that Sony has control of a large part of the main genres that gamers enjoy. Sudeki and Fable are no match for Xenosaga and Final Fantasy and the only real markets xbox has sony pinned down in is sports and FPS. They need more or it doesn't matter when the release xbox 2, Sony is gonna step up and claim the market.

Hmm, I actually remember it being more like $350. And I also think the PS2 dropped their price right before or during the same time that Xbox started to sell their machines. Xbox also had those butt-ugly bricks they called controllers.
Now Ill have to do some research on the pricing thing as Im not 100% sure on that but thats how I remember it. And Im shocked you havent mentioned anything about my second quote. :p Tyler! |
Xbox had a bundle. Was like 2 controller, 3 games, the xbox, and a dvd kit for $500. It only had like 12 launch titles.
|
I'll only get xbox 2 if I can do all the fun stuff I do now with my xbox. I wanna mod it and make sure my games are as far out of the hands of my brother as I can get them. He already turned my MGS 3 disc into a clear drink coster and I'm steamed about it. At least with the xbox games I can back them up and let him destroy the back-up discs. Well I'm off to Gamestop.......
