Vampire Bloodlines. Help

Hi, I need some help

The CD was burned with Alcohol 120% using the Safedisc 2/3 profile at 4x speed.

Game installs fine but during startup the CD is read forever. Any help would be appreciated.

thanks.

GLH 24-11-2004 05:08

You can try to burn it with lower (1x) speed.
Keep in mind that making a backup of Safedisc protected cds depends on the hardware.
You can also try the Mini-Image from GameCopyWorld.

Because of the popularity of the game, i think the chances for a crack are high, but i don't care about this. If a crack is available than it's fine. If not i use my original cd without having a problem with this.

akaalluca 24-11-2004 14:39

can somebody say me what i have to do , to play the game without cd??? I downloaded alcohol 120% and install vampire from the original cds , is that wrong?? Should i make images of the cd ?? How i use the 2 things from gcw??
Thanks for your replies cya
alluca

Alaphic 24-11-2004 19:38

i had the same problem you did, and i saw where someone on the forum said to uninstall clonecd, and that it was what was making it not work. i did, then got the no-cd patch from gamecopyworld, and it works.

ngresonance 24-11-2004 20:51

So close to getting it running!

I got the game to stop giving me the "please insert CD1" message, but now it crashes right after the logo disappears, saying that it has encountered an problem and needs to close, with this as the error signature:

AppName: vampire.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: ~df394b.tmp
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 0008f86b

Anyone know how I can resolve this- thanks a billion!

ngresonance 24-11-2004 21:55

Yay!!!

Okay, I resolved my problem- and here's how for anyone that might have had it:

Take out any CDs from your drive, if you're using daemon tools or the like, and just close the alert window that pops up after you open the game that says there is no disc in the drive. It'll open just fine.

I don't quite get what you saying, could you make it more clear pls ^^?
Thanks

Luci 26-11-2004 01:23

What's the problem with his post anyway? He just downloaded the small iso from gcw and tried to open the game without his cd from what I understand. That's what everyone here did anyway. And that's not in violation of the rules.

It's not like a 1 post guy would care if you ban him anyway :p

And here's my contribution..
I myself don't have the game, but I helped a friend use the image from gcw. The 1.8MB file doesn't seem to work, but the 20MB file worked fine in Alcohol120%. We had to adjust a few settings though, and I'm not sure which ones they were, we just got lucky and didn't touch the settings after it worked :p.

nikon1850 27-11-2004 21:17

what

Grumpy55 do you mount the image (20 MB) file then start the game like normal or what

OK, now when you say this...
I was understanding the post, as he downloaded the complete game ISO.

@Ohrwurm: Sorry for that. I lift the ban instantly.

Grumpy55 28-11-2004 00:06

Yep we mounted the 20mb file, then started the game normally.

I'll check the details when I get to my friend's house next time.

kaqb00n 28-11-2004 05:03

man , the game-performance is unconceivable sick!
it behaves like a beta game in beta-status...
my mouse-look falters and moving is like running on a surface covered with soap; my char often slides around for five or more meteres without having pushed a button... :eek:

is there something i can do to get a better perfomance?

vasquez 28-11-2004 07:02

Hi all

I just got a simple question. I mounted the .mdf image with Alcohol 120% (the mini images from gcw dont work) and the game works... BUT it is really slow.. map changes need minutes and even ingame every move loads for some seconds... so its a really bad lag. Is this beacause my PC sucks or is this normal when you mount images? Would the game be faster with the original CD in the drive?

Thanks all

-Vas-

Grumpy 28-11-2004 07:23

@Vasquez
Why dont you try it with the original, that way you will know for yourself, I cant give you a definate answer on it as I personally dont like mounting images! If there are no NoCD cracks available I just use the original disc until the NoCD becomes available. ;)

Luci 28-11-2004 07:33

i can't understand most of you who say can't change cd's all the time.if i play a game i leave the cd in the drive...i don't do anything else than play all day so... :D

Grumpy 28-11-2004 07:42

Yes i agree with you Luci, if i am playing a game and there isnt a NoCD crack available, I too just leave the disc in the drive! Like Halflife2 disc just stayed in there for 3 full days, my drive only got a rest thanks to Hijack. :)

vasquez 28-11-2004 07:48

well, the original CD got eaten by my dog together with my homework *cough*
So I dont have it anymore and would just like to know if the image mounting is responsible for the lag

Thanks

-Vas-

Luci 28-11-2004 07:51

oh i thought you finished the game in 3 days!i haven't got neither halflife2 nor vampires

Grumpy 28-11-2004 07:53

No took me longer than 3 days! I spend to much time here! :p

does your dog still live :rolleyes:

vasquez 28-11-2004 08:34

@Grumpy
Well uhm... ok... how bout "I didnt do it, the dog did!" *sighs*

@Luci
It does still live.... but I thought about slicing him up to get my Original VTM CD back.... oh and dont worry, I will sew him together afterwards :eek:

At least if I wont figure out if the image mounting is slowing the PC... ;)

microsoft c++ virtual runtime error.
some one help

krondike 28-11-2004 21:27

Run a deep scan for virus, ad-spy wares and other nasty things.

If you can't find anything, download latest updatest from microsft at www.windowsupdate.com.

If you already done that, download update for Microsoft Runtimes File for C++ or Visual Basic.

If you have the latest and/or can't find the needed files PLEASE contact Microsoft for futher instructions!

Note:
It's dose requer Microsoft DirectX 9.0C witch can be found on the CD!

Kreator 28-11-2004 21:57

Excuse me...

Hi, can anyone help me about that: i have the mini image from CGW and i use Daemon Tools. When i try to run the game having this mini image mounted in ,the game asks me to close all Virtual CD/DVD software. Am i doing something wrong?
Thanx...

Grumpy55 29-11-2004 12:38

Well I personally don't keep my cd drive / dvd drive / whatever I have available plugged to my computer if at all possible, since my mainboard is kinda old-ish and the less drives plugged, the longer it works :p

I did not see any slowdowns in my friend's comp though, but I think I know what you're talking about, I have the same problems with halflife2 (same engine) when I set the graphics to maximum..

Oh and btw halflife2 takes around a weekend if you have a lot of time (apparently I did :p)

PS:
@Grumpy I just noticed I kinda stole your name >< I think I'll make a new one now :)

Binkw32.dll

First and foremost, I want to thank everyone's work on getting the fairly-new no-cd to work. Took me a while, but with this boards help, I managed to get past that problem.

HOWEVER, no I run into this error:

"The application or DLL c:\windows\system32\binkw32.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette."

I have DirX 9.0c installed, and using the small ISO with Alcohol 120.

Ive checked this board thoroughly, and I have not seen a duplicate question like this asked.

In advance, thank you for your time. :)

Sylibus 30-11-2004 04:54

I get the same thing ph00k.... guess we just have to suck it up. I came up with my own conclusion though, it's a ati h8ter.

Grumpy 30-11-2004 05:12

@Sylibus
This will fix your problem. ;)
