Call Of Duty Multiplayer (Firewall Info Inside)

Why is it everytime that I try to join a game online it takes Forever to try and connect and just never happens? I have broadband so i mean that should easily get on. whats going on? Then while its trying to connect it says waiting for cd key authorization. Is there any way that I can instantly connect without waiting very long and failing at it during the process? I want to play online so bad...........

Do you use your original cds and exe, or do you use a crack?
Which crack do you use?

Most of the time, cracks don't work for online-gaming!

RK 24-11-2004 03:14

u dont need a crack for the MP aspect of CoD

for not connecting to the server - u sure its not your firewall(if u're running one) - thats what it sounds like to me!!

I looked in my Network Connections to find that my firewall hasnt been turned on. So what else can be the problem and how can i fix that?

Grumpy 24-11-2004 09:19

I may as well see if I can help with this problem as well, seeing as Im answering your Doom3 questions in the other thread! ;)
Do you only use the Windows Firewall!? If so not a good idea!

HarlemNightz27 24-11-2004 09:22

How do i get rid of the windows firewall and also thank you for helping me with this and Doom 3 since im very new at this.

Grumpy 24-11-2004 09:29

Well you already said you went and checked it in the Network properties and it was off! Thats gotten rid of it for now, but you should really have another firewall installed! The windows one is crap!

HarlemNightz27 24-11-2004 09:31

so should i go in a search in my computer for "firewall"?

Grumpy 24-11-2004 09:37

Ok lets double check to see if your windows firewall is turned off.
go Start/Settings/Network Connections, then Right Click your internet connection and choose properties, Then 'Advanced' Tab, then 'Settings' button

HarlemNightz27 24-11-2004 09:45

and then do what

Grumpy 24-11-2004 09:49

Once you get to the settings tab you should be able to see if its off. I should have asked this first but what version of windows are you using and what update? SP1 or SP2 (SP = Service Pack)

Luciel 24-11-2004 09:54

www.zonelabs.com download Zonealarm

HarlemNightz27 24-11-2004 09:55

Im using Windows XP but I dont know what you mean by what SP im using. How do I check what Im using?

Grumpy 24-11-2004 17:51

Before we go any further with this, Have you tried starting the game with the original Disc? Or are you trying to do it with a copy?

HarlemNightz27 24-11-2004 17:56

Copy

Grumpy 25-11-2004 08:41

Well try it with your original!! I wasted enough time last night only to find out you are not even using the original! Same with your doom3 post! I get peeved when you ask for help but dont tell us you are using a copy! Do you even have the original discs? I bet not!

HarlemNightz27 25-11-2004 12:11

no I dont

bighap 25-11-2004 22:53
