V8 Supercars 2 Pal - Backup Probs
I am trying to back this game up but with no luck, does anyone know if it needs patching ? , I have tried Record Now Max which is the same program I have used fpr other games. I also tried Dvd Decrypter...
|
What chip are you using?
|
What exactly is happening  Are you getting read errors?? What modchip are you using?? Media?? We need a little more info.
|
Sorry..the chip is a Dms3 & I am using Princo blanks.I just get a blank screen the game wont load..it also happened with Athens 2004.
Thanx Katlad |
Try better media, Princo's suck.
|
i have no experiance with princo, but have you tried Ritek G04? it was the only media that worked for me.
|
Just make sure you get the dark purple G04 dye. If you have trouble guessing which dye is which, if it is 4x with Ritek dye, it'll be G04 :)
|
Thanx for the replies
I had about 5 Ritek discs that I forgot I had in the cupboard & now V8 Supercars works.. I also just bought last weekend a spindle of MAXDATA DVD-R 8X which have dark purple dye, So I tried Athens 2004 on 1 of them & it also works now.. Thanks again..I should have thougth of that myself but I had wasted a few Princo's trying so I thought I should ask. Katlad |
Hmm - can you run one of those 8x dark purple discs through DVDInfoPRO and get the dye type off it please? ;)
|
strange... im using princo's for my v7 infinity, and it's working fine... maybe my laser ownz :P
|
Ok, well I downloaded DVDInfoPRO Coz I had never heard of it..I"m not sure where to look. So here is the screenshot.

Ah man....It doesn't matter if princo is workin fine......What matters is that while yr laser is strugglin to read princos fine it is killin itself with over exertion.
Do not mistake the fact that it reads them now for the fact that it will always read them!!!!! Be sure that using princo will kill ur laser slowly because u r drivin ur laser to the max. I had same situ with Bulk Paq (rebadged Princo) years back and ruined a ps2 by continually usin them. At first no problems, then odd game wouldn't work. By the end no original would boot. GET RITEK!!!! WHY DO WE BOTHER GIVIN ADVICE!!!!! don't u think that theres a really good reason why everyone advises ritek dye based dvd's???? because they won't kill yr ps2!!!!! it ain't a case of "well, it works on my ps2", rather a case of "don't slowly kill yr ps2". Keep using princo and get back to me in 3 months an tell me how it workin! BTW - sry for goin on!!! :D Regards |
@ Katlad
Get some Riteks, bud :) |

What info from dvdinfopro refer to dye type?
|
this one : Media code/Manufacturer ID
his MAXDATA dye type is GSC003 (Gigastorage Corporation) |
thanx, I have these media:
EMTEC DVD-R: OPTODISCR004 and ePROFORMANCE DVD+R: PRODISC R03 are they good or should I purchase Ritek? |
Ritek. If they're not ritek dye based then don't use them.
