[color = royalblue] I went to game copy world's website and looked up the game and it say's that the copywrite is secuROM v4 so my husband made a copy of the game for me so we could play together. Well, 2 cd's later it still doesn't work. I can't seem to find a program that works worth a ...... Does anyone have any clue as to what program I can use or maybe someone knows the correct copywrite for the game ? Any help would be appreciated. I also tried the no cd cracks, they're incorrect, it keeps giving me the regular WC 3 Reighn of Chaos one's. :cool: Please help me out so that this can stop bugging me so badly, thanks :) [/color]

Use CloneCD (Get a Trial version here: http://www.slysoft.com/en/) and the 'Protected Game CD' setting for Securom games! Works everytime for me! And the Reign of chaos cracks form GCW will work on Frozen Throne. ;)
So install Reign of Chaos, then install Frozen throne, then update using the v1.17 update, then apply this crack WC3: Frozen Throne v1.17a [ENGLISH] Proper No-CD/Virtual Fixed EXE from GCW :)

P.S: And really if you want to play on two machines then you really by law need to own 2 purchased copies of the game! I know it sound silly but hey thats the law. ;)

I know, but I really see it as a waste of money to buy 2 of the same exact game just so hubby and I can play a game via LAN together. It's not like I'm trying to make copies for a prophet, or just to give away. I want to make A copy for personal use. And considering that I paid for the game, I should be able to play it on 2 machines, BUT that's how they get us isn't it ..... one game per machine. It's quite silly but I guess that's how they make their money. :rolleyes:

hahaha ... yeah sure, i've read 'EULA' ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm .... lmao. OK, I downloaded and installed CloneCD, i made a copy but it still keeps asking me for the CD. I have my copy in and it won't run .... so what else can I do ?

I just downloaded ClonyXXL because i want to double check the copywrite and I can't read the stupid thing, it's in german. Is there a way to change it over to english ? Or some way to understand what it's telling me?

I scanned my orig CDv and all i can understand is that it is telling me that it's 5 skulls, lol that's all i can understand.

have you installed the update? then the crack from GCW.

with clonyXXL click on option (optionen) then you can change to english by clickin next to the English flag
But have faith you wont need ClonyXXL it will work! but yu need the right update and the right crack!

I havent used ClonyXXL for a few months now but if I remember correctly it wont pick up Securom unless the game is installed and you direct clony to check the directory that the game is installed into!
It does get easier eventually. lol
If ClonyXXL is telling yu the CD is NA its probably because Clony is looking in the wrong CD drive! Change it at the top, click the little arrow next to the CD drives.

oh my goodness ......... now i am showing secuROM "new" v 4.84.81.9465 and a whopping 10 skulls ....... wow, this one gonna be tricky i tinks. Any clues ? I tried Alcohol 120% last night with secuROM v4 should i try secuROM "new" ?????

yeah, had to have game installed of which i already did that :) atleast I had one thing out of the way :S

and trust me, I really do appreciate the help you are offering me. I would be totally lost if it wasn't for finding this forum. I'd still be staring @ my computer screen scratching my head then maybe a little later beating my head on my desk, who knows where i'd be after that :D lol

if you have already made a backup using CloneCD then you have a working backup just install the update then the crack (Keep checking back to this post)

How about using Alcohol to make an image, and then, mount that image with daemon tools?

CloneCD in my opinion is very under estimated! Its a top program. ;)

i assume that i drag and drop the exe file into my wc3 folder, correct ???

once you download it open it with the latest version of Winrar, there are 3 files in it. go to the warcraft game directory and backup the original 'war3.exe' or just move it to somewhere else! Then copy the war.exe and the war.org to the warcraft directory! Then you can whip hubby's butt! :D

Yes its always nice to have a happy ending. Makes the whole process all the worthwhile. And I myself have learnt so much from my experiences here that its nice to help someone else. ;)

Since you got it figured out, this is just a little more information for you. With Securom 4.x, some drives cannot read the discs correctly so the resulting copy does not work even if you use a program like CloneCD or Alcohol 120%. Another alternative to cracking the game if your drive cannot read or burn the game correctly is to use a Virtual drive. Alcohol 120% uses virtual CD-ROM drives that can be used to mount the CD image and run it from you're HD. It also uses emulation for various kinds of copy protection.

If you have to use a nocd crack then you haven't made a working backup ;)

Well technically its as close as you are going to get to a working backup! These days most games wont work from a backup without using a NoCD crack or an Image of some type, (Mini or full Image). Using one of these methods, like I said 'technically', is a working backup. ;)

WC3: Frozen Throne ALL VERSIONS [ALL] No-CD/Fixed Image

I use that one on the Space target link given before. Just mount it with Alcohol 120% and enable Securom emulation in Alcohol 120%.
