FujiFilm DVD-r are the best

FujiFilm is an expensive and mediocre quality dvdr disc. Ritek is excellent quality and hella cheap.

It would be more benefit to slayer if people replied with genuin answers to his questions rather than biased ones tbh. :/ |
If I was to put a few DVD-R’s on a scale, 10 being the best and 1 being complete garbage it would look something like this:
10- 09- Taiyo Yuden 08- 07- Verbatim 06- Ultran , (ID - VDSPMSAB) 05- Ritek G04 04- TDK G02 03- 02- Princo, Memorex, Vanguard and Dozens more Cheap media 01- My PS2 will read TY to Ritek. My Xbox will read TY to Ultran, it will not read Ritek and this is my reason for placing Ultran above Ritek. I use an LG 4040B burner, I am undecided as to the quality of my LG burner. It may be more sensitive to cheap media than some other burners. I might have put Verbatim even higher but you never know what your getting with Verbatim, they change manufacturing so much. All media that I place 5 or under, the quality takes a huge dive toward the end of the burning. Even Ritek media is often sketchy especially after the 4 Gig mark. The lower cheap media are almost complete junk but you can get by using them for PC data or something you don’t care too much about. I never bother with these unless I’m burning under 2 Gigs on them because the error rates on these DVD’s usually go off the charts anywhere after that. |
Hmm. I don't know Ihaveanosebleed. I have used many Ritek G04 discs above 4GB, and they've been superb...
|
Like I said, I often wonder if I have a substandard burner. Either that or very bad luck finding good media. My V7 reads Ritek G04 fine, even on the 4.3 gig edge. However, I’ve seen a few V4 and V9’s struggle with the edge data of a Ritek. Even if it does not lock up completely, you can hear it. It really helps separate the good from the mediocre when you own a few crappy DVD ROM drives.
|
Well whether burning or reading the last bytes at the end of a dvdr will more than likley be the problem areas. I have had cases where over years of use, I switched out a burner and got better burns with the same media. It even looked more solid when 2 discs were compaired.
Just something I thought Id post up. Tyler! |
Ritek DVD-R discs
i can see that people clearly prefer ritek for DVD-R discs. My question is where do u get them(dont say on the internet, i mean what stores carry them). i live in texas, but i am in california all the time,so i have acsess to a load of stores but nobody has them. ive been to CompUSA, Circuit City, Best Buy, Wal-Mart and i cant find them anywhere. thanks for any help in advance
|
i think the web is the only place to purchase Ritek. I've never seen then in any local store.
|
Someone claims that the Home Depot brand dvdr's are actually Ritek. You may wanna try those out at your own risk.
Tyler! |
damn
thanks for the replies
so i guess i have to order them any suggestions on where i shud get them from and shud i ge G04 or G05 |
G04 (4x) are the best to get
|
similar to riteks????
hey i need some discs soon, are there any that are similar to the quality of ritek discs that i can buy at my local store?(when i say quality i mean discs that work as close to 100% of the time as possible, and discs that dont burn out the laser on the ps2, i have a v12 slim and i want the laser to last as long as possible or forever if it can) are verbatims any good? thanks for any help
also is it possible to avoid the laser problem if i use the right discs, or is it just inevidable? |
Ah, did you not read my post? Verbatims are at least as good as Ritek and usually quite a bit better. Taiyo Yudens are even better than that.
