soldiers of ww2 emulated perfectly

Try this download this image
it's a tiny image of 80kb then reboot your pc and disable your optical drives. Unzip both files from archive.
Then mount image file DISC_1.mds 29.158 bytes using deamon tolls 3.46 and then play the game.

F**k YOU STARFORCE

3.when windows boots mount the image in deamontools 3.46 (files you downloaded in step 1)

4.Start the game

EMPiRE 07-08-2004 06:58

So this would be a No-CD solution?

sgtshaft 07-08-2004 07:22

in a way yes, the only problem is you have to disable your optical drives.

Bigblutpapst 07-08-2004 09:10

ognisty_pl 07-08-2004 09:52

I disable my optical drivers in Windows and I mount this small image in daemon, but it still doesn't work! I must take cd to the other drive, but I have got only a virtual Daemon! Help!

Read your mainboard manual or else physically pull the ide cable from your optical drives.

I´ve done all this, and the game starts fine... but after a few seconds (when i´m navigating the Campain menu) it just freeze!!!!! and stop responding!!! :eek: .

Please someone help!!!!

omfgirox 08-08-2004 01:48

Doesnt work if disables in windows?

sorinu 08-08-2004 07:07

Yes, its working if you disable from Windows.

go to control panel ---> double click System ---> go to tab Hardware ---> device manager ---> right click your optical drives and choose disable

!!! It is not necesary to disable your virtual drivers (from alcohol, clonecd or deamon) !!!

After this mount the file from sgtshaft and thats all.
The game is working perfectly.
If you get some errors you need to clean starforce **** with StarforceClean.
After reboot try again to play the game.

All credits to sgtshaft. Nice work man.
When you give us a solution to toca racer 2 DVD?

I was try the method of sgtshaft. It doesn't work at russion version
from 1C :( . I'll try this method, but i think i need to wait the no cd .exe

stamla 08-08-2004 08:33

Working!

In windows XP it doesn+t seem to matter if you disable the cd drives in bios.
Win xp overrides, so you need to pull out the IDE-cables inside the puter.

Thanx a lot for the help! :)

Thanks but I dont deserve the credit.
It was first posted on a chinese forum by some anonymous guy.
But some good news, it is a generic hack it can be used on all starforce games. Alas toca might prove a bit more difficult as its on DVD.

Every store that sells games offer an exchange of the same game should it be defective. Especially in the first 30 days.

If somehow your store doesnt carry the game anymore. Publishers replace CDs.

paddy-100 08-08-2004 12:47

Thank you for the worke around , worke perfact with the german Version 1.0!

I never said that i dont get a new one.
But i have to wait around a month until i get my new version(i think even the Publisher would be faster :rolleyes: ).
So lets smoke a pipe of peace and enjoy the game ;)

cheborra 08-08-2004 15:55

your computer have some problems. Maybe the videocard it is old or the procesor its to hot.

MarsTheGod66 08-08-2004 17:11

thx for the no-cd thingy...
however, im trying to find a way to use it but so you wouldnt have to unplug or disable the drives, but I just need to find where soldiers has the location of the cd drive written
i cant find it in the registry, and i know its somewhere in the soldiers directory (root i think, but not sure)

if i could find that then i could change the drive to ... lets say S:\ ... and then use the deamon to mount the file on S:\

then the game would think u installed it from S:\ and u wouldnt have to remove any drives

i think this could work, but like i said, i cant find where soldiers has written the location of the drive installed from

plutonick 08-08-2004 17:11

The 'crack' is not working for me either.
I am using windows xp. I removed the drives from the bios, but windows kept finding them, so I disabled them from 'device' manager.

However when I mounted the file into the daemon tools drive, and tried to run the game, i got the same error message = wrong disk or something.

I removed the copy protection using safeclean, rebooted, tried to run the prob, it prompted me for a reboot in order to complete the installation, and then I got the same error I was always getting... bummer

omfgirox 08-08-2004 23:22

the fact that i entered a key will disable this method?

Why wouldnt you enter a key?

LOL! omgudontrox!

omfgirox 09-08-2004 07:29

just finding the reason for the failure of this method to my soldiers@@

reddragon105 09-08-2004 09:22

what if you burned this small image to a CD-R? would that work?

this has the same cd key type interface that Breed has. and (eventually) a crack came out for Breed that made it run with no problems whatsoever

should just be a matter of time before a crack comes out for this one

Hmmm, maybe you're right, the key you enter may need to match up with the key thats on the CD (image in this situation).
Different original CD origins may have different keys on the CD.

omfgirox 10-08-2004 00:09

starforce game has no protection on online-play?
the key is just to find its matched-cd?
:D :D :D

Jatta 10-08-2004 01:41

1. Uninstall any previous installation of the game.
2. Uninstall starforce; use starforce cleaner. (sfclean.exe).
=> One reboot. Turn off your PC and =>
3. Disconnect - physically; pull the ide cable from all your hardware based optical drives (cd/dvd/burners).
Disabling them in bios will not work with winxp.
4. Mount and install the game with Daemon tools 3.46.
5. Mount the DISC_1.mds image with Daemon tools 3.46.
6. Run the game => One reboot.
7. Run the game. => Enjoy!

MarsTheGod66 10-08-2004 03:01

@ JATTA

why uninstall the game?

WailinChieftain 10-08-2004 04:50

Just wanna say thanks sgtshaft. I'm in your debt.

Each disc does have it's own key but with the image sgtshaft provided, it seems to look past it.

Nikeless 10-08-2004 07:08

Sorry but i dont understand ...

-> i got the Image
-> CLEAN starforce
-> disable Drives
-> bind the image in Daemon Tools
-> Reboot
-> Want to start " Error NO DISK INSERTED "

What to do ? :(

Joe Forster/STA 10-08-2004 07:14

Hey Nikeless,

Unless you enabled "Automount" in Daemon Tools, you gotta mount images again and again, after each reboot!

Joe

Nikeless 10-08-2004 08:02

I know ... it was on auto mount and it doesnt work pls help me i dont know what i did wrong ...

Jatta 10-08-2004 08:46

@MarsTheGod66
Cause; first I just uninstalled starforce. And no go: "No disc". Thereafter an uninstall of the game/reinstall: 5 secs of blinking and the game was up and running after the verification reboot.
Technically I can't give you the answer.

MarsTheGod66 10-08-2004 11:55

@JATTA

your game didnt work cause you uninstalled starforce
the next time u installed the game, starforce was installed again and the game worked then

if u remove starforce, then the game wont work...
