hey,

i think this is the most appropriate forum

anyway i built a new pc today

specs
asus a7v600-x
amd 3200+
kingston 512 mb ddr400 ram
fx5200

well the point of this is that i booted up the pc all my cool lights came on good sign.

But nothing comes up on the monitor what could be my problem? the little led on the monitor flashes green. but no beebing noise is coming from the pc.

seaneyb2003 02-08-2004 13:04

Retrace your hardware installs and double check all connections. Be sure that all add-ons and wires are all seated properly. (agp, pci, mem, ide) Make sure you have all jumpers set correctly. Especially pay close attention to the small wires that plug into the mobo for power led hdd led etc... If they are wrong, it will be a no go.

seaneyb2003 04-08-2004 13:10

well thing is i just built it and it didnt display any pictures.

crazygamelover 04-08-2004 13:12

thats definitely not a good sign Seany! Did you double check all of your connections and hardware compatiblities?
I'm sure you did but it doesnt hurt to ask.

Luci 04-08-2004 13:26

graphic card or ram failure.test another ram

seaneyb2003 04-08-2004 13:46

cgl yeah i did i made sure i got the right ram and everything. Also like to ask are most gc 1.5 volt input.

crazygamelover 04-08-2004 13:54

well i havent bought any lately so i cant be sure about the 1.5v question. Does the mobo manual recommend any specific gc? Which one did you buy?

seaneyb2003 04-08-2004 13:57

i used my fx 5200. well the guy i bought the mobo off has taken it in for a repair and hes doing it for free. Good because he lives local and has good comms so he keeps me up to date. everything else works normal noise from hdd and dvd writher but i think its the ram or gc.

Luci 04-08-2004 14:02

seaney i know that only geforce 4 ti xx use more volts.ifit's notram then we got here a pretty weird situation

try testin a new ram(from a friend or so)

seaneyb2003 04-08-2004 14:19

well he found the fault it was the graphics card.

Luci 04-08-2004 14:21

who?what was the fault?

seaneyb2003 04-08-2004 14:23

The graphics cards the problem my asus board only supports 1.5 volt cards but.... my card i think has a higher voltage.

Luci 04-08-2004 14:27

5200??weird.i have 5700 and it's normal
what's your power case(or however you say it)

seaneyb2003 04-08-2004 14:30

psu 300

but the thing is some cards have different power requirements

seaneyb2003 10-08-2004 16:40

well after all my probs got my pc back in bits. I gave the mobo back to the guy and he gave me a refund. So ive bought a asrock mobo and it works perfectly its really cool in there and looks lovely i post a pic later but its all good and working perfectly.

Also i ditched the idea of thermal pad and i bought arctic silver 5 thermal grease. Hell lot better
