What mod chips are good

I have ps 2 scph-30005 R Ntsc/j :(
And what chip is most for playing pal games-?
And how much-?

Duo/Duo2 - £15
Matrix Infinity - £30
DMS3 - £30
Messiah 2 - £25

Those are good chips (and estimated prices) :)

Definitely the top 4 chips there.

Note: the duo chips may be cheaper in cost but dont under-estimate their performance. They may not have all the features but they are great chips none the less. ;)

Absolutely :)

Personally, I think the Messiah 2 pro is overrated. It has the same feature set as many other chips (including the Duos) but is supposed to be harder to install. I think it's more of a name recognition thing- people like Messiah because it's Messiah.

If you want something easy and just need to play your backups, I think Duo/Duo2 is what'd be best.

For top-of the line chips with a lot of features, you have DMS3 and Matrix Infinity. They're both great, but the Infinity has auto-boot; it figures out what kind of media you but in and boots in the right mode automatically. So, I'd say that for a high-end chip, the Infinity is the way.

yeah im gettin a matrix infinity cuz it auto detects the kind of media and you can upgrade it.

btw anyone hear anything new about the guy doing the programing for the chip? did he recover from his surgery yet?

Havent heard anything back on that one yet. You would think he would have by now!

lufcfan 02-08-2004 18:36

I did e-mail them a week back and they said it'd only be a few days now until the update was complete. Is it still not up?

lufcfan 02-08-2004 18:43

The bottom of this taken from the Matrix Team website might explain something...

Like most of you already know the V1.3 Upgrade for the Infinity is practically ready from the development team since more than one month.
The problem is that the chief responsible of implementing the Upgrade code underwent a small surgical operation for a minor form of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
He was supposed to fully recover about two weeks ago, but until know he still is not able to work.
We have now a new assistant programmer that is undergoing training with him now.
We hope to complete his training and recover all the lost time as soon as possible.

crazygamelover 03-08-2004 00:23

duo2 is the sequal to the original duo and both are equally good.
