I cant back up my games
I have my box all setup with EvolutionX.
I'm using FlashFXP to get the game info from my box and putting on my desktop. I make a ISO file and burn it with Nero 6.3 and the game wont play in my box. I'm using the new Sony DRU-700a and the media I have tried was Memorex DVD-RW and TDK DVD-R I need help not sure what I'm doing wrong. |
what do you use to make the iso file?
|
use the newest version of iso craxtion v 4.00 and burn the iso to disc using alcohol 120 percent don't use nero it is pathetic when used to burn xbox games. most people here know my dislike of the iso method but latley i have burned quite a few discs using iso's and i always use alcohol for the best results...

I did a little study burning a couple games like kotor and gta3:vc.
Kotor, burned well with all three. However, when I had to create a second iso using gfimage.exe because the first froze at loading screens. GTA:vc fr0ze at the first loading screen 2/3 times that I tried the databurn. Craxtion+gfimage was pretty good, but when I switched to the generic craxtion+ximage, i got the best results. There was no small loading gaps that were longer than playing off the HDD. I fully support ximage with craxtion now as the best. I would recommend that setting. |

Thats not always true. Tyler! |
For the most part it isn't.

really? wow sorry bout that. i always burned at 1x and it came out fine but u know alot more about this stuff than i do
|
Actually its really based on your own personal burner and media combination. As well as multitasking or not. So if you have a good burner and good media (like ritek) then you might as well burn as fast as you can with your particular combo. If you come across a problem, then is when you should consider burning slower.

All the games i burn were at 2x or 4x depending on what cds i had g03 or go4, and they were fine never had any problems. |
oh, so basically burn at 1x if ur using princo:D lol
|
i burn all my games at 4 or 8 speed depending on what discs i have laying about at the time and i have never had any trouble, waiting a full hour for a 4 gig game to burn would realy hack me off and make me more likley to snap the damn disc when it's done just for hacking me off in the first place..

No doubt!

I know most people like/recommend Craxtion. I've used it with success but I prefer Qwix for making ISO's and I burn with RNM. To this point I've never had a bad burn and I always burn at max speed(4x for my burner).
My "Box" has a Phillips drive and it has run every DVD-R I've ever burned with the above method. I've also used "data burn" with 100% success but to me it seems like an ISO burn has faster load times on some games??? |
i noticed that same problem with gtavc.... ive tried loading it to my hdd... then ftp to the computer to make an xiso thru craxtion then burning on alcohol... and it still doesnt work... can someone help me out and tell me what im doing wrong??? another thing is, the original disc itself will freeze during the loading screen at the same spot everytime... quall im sure u kno the spot that im talking about
|
i use Qwix as its really simple to use, has a foolproof user interface, it was the first app i tried and has never failed me so i've had no reason to try another
as for KOTOR freezing on load screens, if you had an original you would know that the original does that as well ;) its a clock issue - as you know the Xbox doesnt keep clock settings if its off for several hours. with the MS dash you have to set it when you switch it on. a chip bypasses this, so the time goes to the default date. this results in save games having weird time stamps. KOTOR autosaves in some loading screens and the clock being set to a weird date causes it to freeze. simply set the clock before you play. ________ vaporizer reviews |
Actually, I had the exact same problem. I would load up one of my saves, then everytime I leave the screen to another area it would freeze. This is another common problem. I have it autosave. So, basically when it saved, it would then freeze. I had to delete the autosave file to get it to work, that's all.
I remember I was almost done with the game, near the end. The game froze as I was walking into a building, or at last it seemed to freeze. I opened the disk tray, then closed it. Surprisingly, it loaded and kept going without having to reset the xbox. Unfortunately, my total gameplay hours jumped intp the millions. |
even the original dvd wont boot up.... i thought it was my xbox but i tried other games and they work fine... so ima borrow my cousins xbox and try to back it up on his then transfer to computer n make an image from that... hopefully i get some luck this time
