pal2ntsc

is the site not up anymore for the pal2ntsc info that is stickied on the the sticky page?

i am a newbie to the pal2ntsc stuff and i was curious about the specifics about the difference between the 2.

i have an apple pro in a v7 on a tv with components, do i still need to patch?
the reason i ask is i thought i have read somewhere that if you are using components you do not need to patch, but i bet i am way off....

thanks for the info!

If you mean the site that had all the pal to ntsc patches http://ps2chimps.ps2newz.net/ yes it seams that they have gone down. You can also look at www.megagames.com and even http://www.alucard.cc/ they both have pal 2 ntsc patches.

Jarek23 13-06-2004 12:16

thanks a lot man!

spedmetal 13-06-2004 12:21

no problem.

one question, what do you mean by this?

seaneyb2003 13-06-2004 13:22

i think he means modchip

Jarek23 13-06-2004 16:11

component cables = RGB

i read somewhere that the only difference between pal and ntsc is the how it plays on your tv. if you play a pal game on a normal tv with stanard inputs, it will play in black and white. consequently, if you play a pal game on a tv that uses component cables, RGB, then everything will be okay.

is this the truth?

seaneyb2003 13-06-2004 16:17

yea it does ur tvs got 2 be able to take a pal signal tho

Jarek23 13-06-2004 18:51

ok so the signal is different too. so no matter what, you have to patch them right?

The way I understand it as of now....

PS2 chimps will NOT be back....

With all of the things that "happened" last month, the chimps decided that it was too much of a risk to keep doing the patches, and thus they have "retired".....

WOW that sucks....I guess I'm a little out of the loop. What all happened last month that you are speaking of?

lufcfan 14-06-2004 05:22

Yeah, I'm quite interested too. I wasn't aware anything had happened. Must have kept it quiet...

khafan 14-06-2004 07:31

PS2CHIMPS has decided to cease operations. Unfortunately the scene busts have made us realize that all this stuff isn't worth it anymore. Our respects to all the groups who continue with the scene, and it has been fun making patches for everyone. Have a nice life!

BG 14-06-2004 07:35

Thanks khafan.....

Beat me to it! :)

seaneyb2003 14-06-2004 09:43

oh well just do the onboard mod ull be fine

lufcfan 14-06-2004 09:44

Bloody hell. That was a good site too. Very useful for patches and a link when someone would mail me about patching... :(

TylerDurden 14-06-2004 13:25

Just use the ADR patcher with the ntsc2pal fixer on it. It works in most cases.

Tyler!
