Euro 2004 in Portugal

Portugal - Greece: 1 - 2

Greece played a really good defensive match Portugal couldn't get there game on. All in all To much pressure put on the Portugese players i think.

gh0sth@cker 12-06-2004 14:58

Never a penalty

FreeFighter 12-06-2004 16:06

Ronaldo wanted to prove himself to much i think. So he wanted to help in the defence (being a striker), tried to get to the ball first but got stuck with a Greece player in front of him.

Spain - Russia: 1 - 0

Russia played with to much pressure on the Spannish players first half wich led that they were tired in the second half. Nice goal Spain. 9 yellow cards 1 Russian player 2 yellow -> 1 red card.
  1. Spain 3
  2. Greece 3
  3. Portugal 0
  4. Russia 0

JoyBoy 12-06-2004 17:51

Good games so far, except the ref was a **** in the Spain-Russia Match... Collina (yeah, might have spelt his name wrong) should be referring every single match at the Championships. Either him or that gay referee* :)
Either way, forget every single game so far, the first big match takes place tommorow, England vs France... My moneys on.... well i'll edit this message closer to the game, after I have decided.
Despite todays result, I really want Spain, or Italy, to win the whole thing. Personally I am a little disappointed, there have been no breakouts between the respective hooligans. I only hope the England fans show the rest of them how to do it tommorow :D

*Google Gay Referee :p

FreeFighter 12-06-2004 17:59

Lmao @ gay referee, must be a spanish guy.

gh0sth@cker 13-06-2004 05:55

Goooooo France

FreeFighter 13-06-2004 16:01

Swiss - Croatia: 0 - 0 ... to much faul play i think. Also many yellow cards and 1 red for a Swiss guy halfway the second half.

France - England: 2 - 1 Nice suspence game. First half Lampard scores with head, great goal btw. Second half Beckham misses penalty. This gives France back some hope, then Zidane scores near the end. And scores again with a penalty kick, 2 goals in the last 4 mins. Great game!
  1. France 3
  2. Swiss 1
  3. Croatia 1
  4. England 0

gh0sth@cker 13-06-2004 16:11

Zidane rocks

Mint game between France/England... But tell me, what kind of goalie dives in with both legs? Twat.

FreeFighter 14-06-2004 17:59

14th June 2004

Italy - Denmark: 0 - 0
Game went back and forth no real chances for making goals. Was a nice game to watch although i expected a bit more goals. But you know Italy is a pretty good team in the defence and so is Denmark.

Sweden - Bulgaria: 5 - 0
Really nice header from Larsson, made 2 goals. Bulgarians were beat half around the second half so it was easy scoring for Sweden.
  1. Sweden 3
  2. Italy 1
  3. Denmark 1
  4. Bulgaria 0

15th June 2004

Czech Republic - Latvia: 2 - 1
Looked a bit like France - England game: Czech were pressing a lot and in the counter attack Latvia scores. Second half 2 goals made by Czech Republic.

Germany - Netherlands: 1 - 1
Nice goal of Germany from a free kick, don't think anybody hit the ball.
And a nice header from van Nistelrooy
  1. Czech Republic 3
  2. Germany 1
  3. Netherlands 1
  4. Latvia 0

16th June 2004

Greece - Spain: 1 - 1
All in all a nice game. After the first goal of Spain they kept coming for a second one but in the counter attack Greece made a nice goal.

Russia - Portugal: 0 - 2
Portugal had to win today to keep in the game, only first 2 can go to the second round. So they made the first goal in the first 10 mins. The Russian keeper got a red card for coming out of the 16m and "touched the ball with his hands". but you can see clearly he didn't touch it at all. The Russians played a good match being only with 10 on the field.
  1. Greece 4
  2. Spain 4
  3. Portugal 3
  4. Russia 0

JoyBoy 18-06-2004 12:11

Cant believe nobody mentioned that England win yesterday :D

By the way, lock up your wifes/girlfriends while watching the footie. Otherwise you might end up like THIS guy

FreeFighter 18-06-2004 16:48

Sorry dude my uncle died 2 days ago, i wasn't really in a mood for watching football (soccer).
Anyway i can give the scores.

17th June 2004

Croatia - France 2 - 2
England - Switzerland 3 - 0
  1. France 4
  2. England 3
  3. Croatia 2
  4. Switzerland 1

18th June 2004

Bulgaria - Denmark: 0 - 2
Italy - Sweden: 1 - 1
  1. Sweden 4
  2. Denmark 4
  3. Italy 2
  4. Bulgaria 0

If you want to read comment about the games you can view it on Eurosport

JoyBoy 19-06-2004 06:06

Sorry to hear that FreeFighter

Another big game today, Holland vs Czech Republic. Hopefully it might be a bit better then that other game, the supposed biggest game of the Tournament, Germany vs Holland.

The other Group D game looks like a snoozer, Latvia vs Germany. Although it might be worth checking out for that 19 year old that came on as a sub Tuesday Night for Germany, forgot his name though

FreeFighter 21-06-2004 09:05

19th June 2004

Netherlands - Czech Republic : 2 - 3
Latvia - Germany : 0 - 0

This has turned out to be a real interresting group. What will Czech Republic do?
  1. Czech Republic 6
  2. Germany 2
  3. Netherlands 1
  4. Latvia 1

20th June 2004

Russia - Greece: 2 - 1
Spain - Portugal: 0 - 1

This aswell with Portugal out as groups winner in group A and Greece as second  Because they scored more goals then Spain.
  1. Portugal 6 3 2 0 1 4 2 2
  2. Greece 4 3 1 1 1 4 4 0
  3. Spain 4 3 1 1 1 2 2 0
  4. Russia 3 3 1 0 2 2 4 -2

And todays games my bet will be that France takes first place playing against Switzerland and England second.

21th June 2004

Croatia - England: 2 - 4
Switzerland - France: 1 - 3

Was a hard match for France against Swizerland took a while to score their other 2 goals.
As for England nice goals from Rooney. To bad Owen didn't score any yet.
  1. France 7 3 2 1 0 7 4 3
  2. England 6 3 2 0 1 8 4 4
  3. Croatia 2 3 0 2 1 4 6 -2
  4. Switzerland 1 3 0 1 2 1 6 -5

krondike 21-06-2004 23:39

And todays matches
Denmark vs. Sweden
Italy vs. Bulgaria

Ghale0n 22-06-2004 04:51

hopefully we (Sweden) and Denmark play 2-2 so Italy can pack their bags. They are such bad loosers.

FreeFighter 22-06-2004 15:49

krondike i said that score already http://fileforums.com/showpost.php?p...0&postcount=14

And what Ghale0n predicted came true :D

Im so happy right now i cant even describe it!!!
Gooooooooo Sweden and Denmark!!! :D

JoyBoy 22-06-2004 16:30

Man, both my picks are out, Spain and Italy :(

Roonland dont have the legs for the tournament, so thats them gone too. Especially now they are facing Portugal in the Quarters. Then again, Portugal have been playing as bad as Roonland too...

I'll go with everyones favourite...

Viva La Czech Republic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:D

They don't need to qualify anymore. So there's no pressure for Czech to win this match, but i think they just might want to win against Germany. I think they will go for the 9 points as they are the only ones that can still achieve it :D

krondike 22-06-2004 23:59

Think German are getting beaten by Czech Republic today!

And those who saw the match between the Sweden and Denmark can say it was fixed. becuase it was so nearly that Denmark did score 3-1 and so nearly that Sweden was loosing.

edited:
(sorry it was Czech Republic not Lettia german was facing, I have change)

JoyBoy 23-06-2004 04:28

It would not bother me if Germany did beat the Republic, lets face it though, Germany are still one of the most decorated teams in World Football and people love to say they beat them. What would bother me is that Germany winning would be at the expense of the Dutch going out... That aint right.

FreeFighter 23-06-2004 16:17

Netherlands - Latvia: 3 - 0
Germany - Czech Republic: 1 - 2
  • Czech Republic 9 3 3 0 0 7 4 3

  • Germany 2 3 0 2 1 2 3 -1

JoyBoy 23-06-2004 19:51

Hahaha, Germany couldnt even beat a 'Second Rate' Czech Republic team :)
The current German squad should be ashamed of themselves. They used to be such a powerhouse and now they struggle against such teams as Lativia :p

Look at the brackets for the Tournament HERE. As long as the 'fluff' are eliminated (Roonland, Greece, Sweden and Denmark), we get two big Semi Finals. France - Czech Republic and Portugal - Holland. My moneys on it being Czech Republic - Holland rematch in the Final. Hopefully they can top what they pulled off in the group stage, and we all know who the winner will be :D

krondike 23-06-2004 23:35

Ehm this is the matches.

Portugal - England
Greece - France
Sweden - Netherlands
Czech Republic - Denmark

Don't know if the home team is right, but I do know that's the matches!

You're fooling yourself a bit. Germany was playing against the B team of Czech Republic. Koller, Nedved and another guy weren't even on the field.

FreeFighter 24-06-2004 17:13

Great Match!!! Portugal - England Owen scores 3' Postiga 83' scores with head. After taking off Figo 1 - 1 > Silver goal second quarter Rui Costa 110' Lampard 115' 2 - 2 > penalties. Beckham misses blaims the penalty spot. Rui costa misses, Ricardo stops the 6th penalty with bare hands and scores the 6th for Portugal. 6 - 5

Portugal goes to semi finals.

krondike 24-06-2004 17:14

I realy hope France are gonna kick a$$ with Grece!

Ghale0n 24-06-2004 18:10

I feel bad for England they always loose when it comes to penalties

JoyBoy 25-06-2004 04:42

Roonland were robbed last night... There was no reason why the Campbell goal should have been disallowed. The referee was so biased towards Portugal it was unbelieveable. Hmmm, happens in most tournaments that does, the Hosts are always shown a special service by the officials ;)
And, yes the penalty spot was clearly buggered too, why do you think every player who took a kick was doing a line dance before they did? To show how well they dance, obviously!

ROBBED!!!

Ghale0n 25-06-2004 04:56

Beckham wouldnt make SUCH a bad penalty if the spot wasnt all ****ed up, even if he hasnt done very well in penalties lately he still would hit the target

gh0sth@cker 25-06-2004 06:23

He hit it all wrong, he went for power and top corner and it didn't come off. He tried too hard. Everyone had to use the same penalty spot.

As for the decision, after looking at highlights again on itv, I agree with their analysts that John Terry's arm was over the keeper. Free kick out.

I'd rather England had went through on the pens so they could get beaten convincingly in the next, w/out the excuses.

FreeFighter 25-06-2004 10:42

This is why he was looking at the spot.
