Super Street Fighter 2 X
I finally got this game to selfboot thanks to my new burner. But there is yet another problem. The game starts out fine with the ADX logos, Capcom logo, and game intro run fine.
The problem is that when you press any buttons the game does not recognize the buttons being pressed. I kept pressing the start button and tried different controllers and nothing. Then things got even worse when the in-game demo started. The demo ran SUPER SLOW (slower than slow motion!) you even had enough time to stare at every single frame of animation for about 10 seconds or so. It was kinda nice the see the frames like that but the game itself will be unplayable like that. Anyone else encounter this? How can I correct this problem? |
dam sounds annoying :-)
|
It's worse than annoying. I haven't seen any other DC game that has this problem.
Anyone know? |
hrb2k has pointed out to me that the 1st_read.bin of this game has an LBA of 45000 but the session starts at 11700. What other games have this?
|
same problem here...:( PLEASE help!!
|
yeah, this game has protection. echelon did a good job cracking it to work properly, but did not completely crack it all the way.
i'm not gonna waste any more coasters with this game. |
there must be some way..any help ?
|
It seems only 2_dp.bin had its LBA changed.
1st_read.bin has many "6EB00000". Maybe some of them need to be changed too. |
I think you'll need some hexediting.
I think the real LBA value that needs to be hacked isn't the one near "CD001". Look for "5A2E0000" in Echelon's 1st_read.bin. Change it to your LBA value. Then make a selfboot CD, but DON'T USE binhack, hack, hack3, ... |
OMFG!!!!!!!! FINALLYYYYYYYYYY!!!! I GOT THIS GAME SELFBOOTED AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hacker999, I GOT IT TO SELFBOOT!!!!!!!!!!
excuse the excitement, but its long overdue.!! Megalexxx, i did what you just posted. but since my burner can put out 11700 LBA with cdrhack, i left the bin alone. heres the real trick, the IP.BIN has to be BINHACKed to 11700.!! how to do that.? just copy the 1st_read.bin to another directory. put binhack and the ip.bin in that directory and go to work. put the ip.bin back in the selfboot dir and continue the selfboot method. WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! oh, btw, someone please test this with 11702 LBA. thanks. |
good!:D thank lord! could you explaing stpe by step how to do this? please!!
|
hrb2k : try to compare your new ip.bin with the old one (with a SFV maker, or NitroHex). You won't find any difference !
Why ? Because Binhack doesn't change any LBA value in ip.bin ! What you did work simply because 1st_read.bin is pre-hacked to 11700 !!! That's what means this "5A2E0000" hex value : it's LBA reference for 11700. You got it work by chance. Binhack rewrites LBA near "CD001" in 1st_read.bin, and in SSF2X case, it mustn't be rewritten. So, you took an already hacked 1st_read.bin to 11700, didn't change ip.bin, and made a selfboot CD with the same value. If you want set another LBA, you'll have to change that "5A2E0000" to your LBA value. Don't use binhack, because the value near "CD001" mustn't be changed. For 11702, the correct value is "5C2E0000". |

BTW I forgot to ask, did you do anything to the other bin files? (2_DP.BIN, MAIGO.BIN, SG_DPLDR.BIN)
|
no, i didn't touch those bins. 2_dp.bin is already hacked to 11700. maigo and sg_dpldr are unhacked anyway. since the 1st_read.bin is set to 45000 before CD001, you can return back to the game after you exit the web browser. it won't reset.!! i think one of those bins reads the lba of the 1st_read.bin. if its 45000, it will return to game, if anything else, it will reset. so don't do anything to maigo or sg_dpldr.
but if you try to boot with 11702, hex edit 1st_read.bin and binhack 2_dp.bin. |
hi!, well, i'm a little newbie to this, i have that problem about the selfboot thing and not recognizing the controllers and hell slow, but you mentioned that it can be fixed, now that's great news! i'm a little newbie on this, i have an hexeditor, i looked for those values inside the 1st_read.bin, but i could find any of those 2, maybe i'm doing something wrong, a wrong search, etc.
can any1 post a tutorial for this? i just do the default echelon method , and my msinfo is always 0,11700, i dunno if that matters, anyways, can someone help me please? |
Well judging form what Megalexxx and hrb2k wrote, burn the audio session, then when you are going to make the iso for the 2nd session, skip the binhacking part since you say you always get an LBA of 11700. then follow the rest of the selfboot procedure.
If you already binhacked you 1st_read.bin, delete it and get another from your working disc. And remember, DO NOT binhack the 1st_read.bin. |
iok changed the music, then i burned the audio session, then , i skipped the binhack part,. I made the iso, then i did ipins.exe, then burned the 2nds session, and it didn't worked, it just resets after the sega screen :(
|
when it reset, did it flicker then reset, or did to fade to the dc main menu?
also, what was the lba of the second session? |
it flickers , it tries to laod it again. and i dunno how to get the lba of the second session, i just know about after every time i burn the 1st audio session my msinfo is 0,11700.:(
can you peeps help me? look, i'll do it in here too :p 1st, i used isobuster for extracting files from the original ssf2x, then i changed the music. after that , i burned the 1st audio session , my msinfo it's as usual, 0,11700. and now, i have to...... |
sounds like an lba problem. are you sure your lba is 11700 after the first session? try using -msinfo in cdrecord.
|
there you have a pic about it.
http://www.iespana.es/MrQQQ/3rdS/msinfo.gif so, what's next then? |
ok, i did this and it worked for me. do this,
extract the bootbins (1st_read.bin, 2_dp.bin, maigo.bin, sg_dpldr.bin) from your working cd of ssf2x. put them in the 'data' folder extract the IP.BIN from the cd with megalexxx's tool. i (forgot the name of it). :( put the IP.BIN in the 'selfboot' folder. in the 'data' folder, right-click 1st_read.bin. select COPY. in the 'selfboot' folder, put the cursor on the background and right-click>PASTE. a copy of the 1st_read.bin should now be in the selfboot folder. right-click the 1st_read.bin and select, properties> uncheck READ-ONLY. click OK. BINHACK that 1st_read.bin in the 'selfboot' folder. type, 1st_read.bin>ip.bin>11700 delete the 1st_read.bin in the 'selfboot' folder. now, you are all set. make an .iso out of the 'data' folder. when its done, IPINS the data.iso with the IP.BIN. if you haven't done it already, burn the audio.raw, then the data.iso. when its finished, load the cd in your dc. i did exactly these steps and it worked for me. if it doesn't work for you, then i don't know what else to try. maybe its the new music files..a file check protection...maybe??? good luck. :D |
heeeeyyyyyyyaaaaaaaaa:D
it worked! you guys are muy f****ing heroes! thnx!!!:D :D :D :D :D |
sounds great. so how does the new music sound?
|
it sounds nice!, i changed the music into HSF2/CPS1 versions of them...sounds damn cool! if peeps are still getting probs with this, i'm going to share, no prob! just dunno how, i mean, kazaa sucks for that, i can't make torrents 'cause i don't have a tracker or sth like that...neither have an ftp account :(
i have plenty of games for sharing, most of them with music changed (3rdS, ssf2x now hehe, mvc2, cvs2, gigawing2, zero gunner2, etc...) if anyone is interested, just talk to me and that's all! hehe :) (although it would be better if someone can lend me a hand for uploading them somewhere..) |
talk about reactivating an old post. But does anyone have a definitive way to make this game Selfboot. Be it making an\ selfbooting CDi file, or creating an ISO then burning a 2 session CD with the ISO and the audio.raw file. If anyone has consistently extracted the data from a selfbooting CDI of this game and created another selfbooting version in either of the ways I described then can you please post how step by step. Thanks.
|
Try that last method posted by hbr2k, that's the one that worked for me...i've succesfully changed ssf2x music into classic sf2 cps-1 tunes from HyperSF2 with no probs.
