rumor has it that DNAS will be cracked soon....
Taking from anther forum and passing on the info:
A few months back, our affiliates at PS2Ownz.com mentioned in their NEWS that DNAS was cracked. However, in a follow-up post it was determined that this was only a work-around which required special hardware unavailable to the general public... so it was naturally dismissed at that. Today, we'd like to inform our visitors that HOPE is again restored... with the upcoming release of a DNAS Disc ID Utility! Recently leaked from the GODS @ Paradox, this "homebrew" burnable CDR-based utility contains NO $ony code, but it will allow endusers to rent original PS2 game discs, dump their DNAS Disc ID (which is unreadable from standard PC CD/DVD drives), and ultimately patch their back-ups with the Disc ID obtained from the utility to play them on-line from $ony's servers! How is this possible? Well for starters, the encrypted overlays have been decrypted in both the EE and IOP, and eventually a DNAS Disc ID Patcher will also be required. Its function will be to simply patch the DNAS routine in a game back-up's IOP to always return the correct key when connected to $ony's servers ;) We invite all visitors to utilize our PS2NFO.COM Forums as the official channel of communication on this HOT topic! A picture of the DNAS Disc ID Utility is posted below... more to come soon including its release! All we ask in return is that you tell people about PS2NFO.COM! Team PS2NFO.COM |
I will ask my sources about this.
Tyler! |
wow thats great newz
im just wondering if it will work with modded system |
So that means basically yo have to re-burn every game that uses DNAS to include the new code. Does each game have its own special DNAS code or all games have the same?
anyway i hope this true.... |
From what I understand they each have their own code.

I think thats what he is saying. I dont have that many DNAS games anyway.
i cant wait... |
This sounds great. Maybe I'll be able to play sports games online again. :D
|
Lets not get too excited just yet. Im still trying to confirm this myself.
Tyler! |
Heres a link to a ton of info on the subject!
"http://www.ps2ownz.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15528&perpage=15&pagenu mber=1" |
It all looks great but they still havn't said anything good of that modchip if i read it all correct.
|
the tool used to rip the disc ids is said to be for download on ps2ownz or ps2nfo within the next 48 hours :D no more $48 paper weight for me :p
|
yes the id ripper should be availble to d/l within the next day or 2. but i believe this will be completly useless for a few weeks or until someone can make a patcher which you can add the id into the game! or do they already exist(PFF patcher)??
|
or maybe you just put them in hex editor and then save them back in the image file?
|
Then the people that has mod chips and no so called GHETTO method will have to wait longer cause the dnas mod chip check. i got me a good ole flip top awaiting the day thet crack it then its going on my system then im playing online ;)
|
they are already releasing some of the id's for socom 2 and champions of norath. They will make some kind of patcher
quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Originally posted by wizdom i just want to make sure i got this straight. the utility to give the disk id will be released sometime in the next 24 hours, but the utility to patch the game wont be developed til some does it, right? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Originally posted by Administrator Well actually ANYTHING can happen really What I mean is, there are people who visit our boards (friends, rival groups lurking, etc) who could leak/release an already-made PATCHER of theirs to show us up or simply help out, but they could also decide to wait a few days, weeks, months, never etc. On the other hand, with the release (within a day or so) of the DNAS Disc ID Utility one of the skilled Forum Members here could also code a PATCH tool and release it... or not. I know 100% there is such a tool out there, but of course it's kept close to whoever made it... at least for the time being |
The thing i don't get is howcome they are so sure it's going to work? They don't even have the patcher yet. How did they test it then? They're not even sure how it will react with those consoles with modchips.

rubber2k1 is just a spammer to promote another ZIMA money making machine. Boycott it

This tool can only dump the key, besides that it does NOTHING for you. The term DNAS Hax0r is 100% misleading and likely based on some incomplete work by citizenX, thus the 2k3 date on the app. Just because you have a valid key doesn't do much for you sony can ban that key if more than 1 person logs on with it. Public keys will simply be backlogged. in order to "always return the key", you have to patch the code, In this instance only a select few know how to do this but wont reveal it for fear of sony. DNAS also allows sony to executed signed code that's sent over the net, Basically nuking any cracks they can find, do checksums on modules and binaries ect. Sony is already checking the bios modules to hunt down modchip users, nobody is even certain that modified modules are being check simply because they have never gotten that far in the authentication. |

What does this mean? Are they trying to find out who has a modded PS2? |
I dont play online. I dont have highspeed internet where I live.
Well if it dont work then Im glad to have said "dont get your hopes up". Tyler! |
TD: Someone has your exact name online then:(
|
It is somewhat popular. Tyler Durden was the name of the character played by Brad Pitt in Fight Club.

lol its not about ownz vs newz, these are simple facts.

Where do you get these facts from? Tyler! |
I don't think Paradox would reveal anything unless they are completly sure of it will work. And Ownz are making the publicity for it, that's all.

You have no idea what you are talking about EVO. Guichi may not be liked by everyone, but he is no noob.

lol

as i said b4 a noob lol well them came through with the prog the newzy are not going to like that lol
|
Too bad it doesn't do jack.
"Clearly the next logical step will be to examine the DNAS routines that are located in on-line titles (IOP area), and then to put together a method of patching them with the Disc ID obtained from the original. In doing this, the correct key will always be returned to $ony's servers when it is called, and soon we all may be able to play on-line together!" Can you get online with a backup? No, so who cares. |
