Cool stuff, been playing around with it earlier tonight. Nice and Simple Interface and Easy to use. Have'nt played with it enough to give some proper feedback on, but you know where to get that from ;)

Anyways, it gets my vote. You and cdkiller should hook up and make a tool together :p

Okay, I got some bug.

Bug 1, it will not detect an audio CD. I tested to fool and it didn't go on it, but it didn't KNOW what kind of cd that was in the drive.

Bug 2, if you got, for example, an audio CD and select you got the "software" installed, and select a (random) folder, it will do a forbidden thing/system error ;).

Tested on Windows XP SP2 BETA v. 2055

R!Co 24-02-2004 10:40

Thanx for tets

@1.I am not checking for AudioCD. Only for Cactus 200.

@2.Should be fixed in new release.

krondike 24-02-2004 11:01

naah but it should detect what kind of cd it is, if there isn't any protection on it! ;)

Audio cd often have "Track01" "Track02" files. etc.
And you got an option/row that's says "adio tracks:" :p

It also crash if you select special scan, and choose a directory where the application is installed, there isn't any special in the folder.

And you should include a midi files in the Starwars copied thing, in the credits ;).

R!Co 24-02-2004 11:21

I've just scanned 10 dirs and all is ok here :-/

krondike 24-02-2004 11:52

pm me your email adress and I send you porno mails, no just making funny of my self. I send you a dump log!

And just notice, when I scanned my document folder. It worked. When I scanned my backup folder, it crash.

Anyway I got the log. Pm me and I send it to you!

doesnt detect safedisc or safecast on the disks i checked, probably because the files you check for werent present on the cd(the .tmp ones etc)..

R!Co 28-02-2004 05:30

Well no app is able to find it without exe or this files. Clony is using database to search and that is lame. Try to scan other cd or install folder. Btw if tmp files are not on cd. CD is not protected with safedisc

wrong, tmp files are simple splash screens, they're bitmaps, and they are not required at all by safedisc/safecast and you can detect safedisc/safecast by sector scanning, there is a pretty identifiable signature (look for A5's)

R!Co 28-02-2004 14:46

But to scan sectors u need drivers. On NT it is ok, but win9x u need aspi and can't bet everybody have them

TippeX 28-02-2004 15:04

well considering 9x is officially dropped by m$ i dont really see supporting win9x as a cause for conscern now do you?

R!Co 29-02-2004 03:40

But Windows 98 was not droped it was planned but they continue. And also WinME is Win9x based system

Monty Burns 29-02-2004 04:37

Trojan Horse ?

Okay, after unpacking your prog (just for improving my unpacking skills) my Antivir tells me the unpacked exe is a trojan horse called tr/spooner.2

Any clues ??

nope the 9x family and me were dropped and doesnt your tages scanner work via sector scanning nehows?

actually heh i stand corrected...

Microsoft is dropping pay-per-incident support for Windows 98 starting January 16th, 2004. "In accordance with the Microsoft Product Support Lifecycle, no-charge support for Windows 98 ended on July 1, 2003. Paid-only support will continue to be available from Microsoft at $35 per incident until January 16, 2004. "

R!Co 29-02-2004 05:26

Well i read this

http://www.computerweekly.com/Article127537.htm

Microsoft extends Win 98 and ME support to 2006

So no idea

Monty Burns 29-02-2004 05:28

Hmm, so what about the trojan horse thingy R!co ?

Eagle 29-02-2004 05:58

Monty, my Kaspersky A-V tells me the file is clean. Update your virus signatures and/or look for an scanner engine update etc...

[edit]

hmm, i'll rename A-Ray to A-Reboot or sumtin' as it causes a 'IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL' fukkin bluescreen :D

R!Co 29-02-2004 08:12

I know about this Win9x bug and working on it. But I agree with TippeX. Win9x should be not even supported, because it is full of bugs. Next rls will fix Win9x problem

Eagle 29-02-2004 08:26

hey, dont talk bad about 98!
it served me _very_ well for more than 3 years withoug re-installing. It's way better than most people think. they say its bad/buggy because they never used it properly before.
I knew how to handle it and never had problems :)

naw, it is bad/buggy, i've debugged the **** out of it, it really allows programs to mess about jumping from r3 to r0 using exceptions and performing other nasty stuff, u really should upgrade simply for the fact that when a program crashes in 2k/xp it isnt allowed to take the entire system down with it ;)

Eagle 29-02-2004 09:36

hey, i didnt say that i'm still using it ;)

TippeX 29-02-2004 11:02

ah,so what you mean is it served you very well until something better came along and you dropped it quicker than an unwanted girlfriend ;)

gamesmell 24-03-2004 12:19

this A-Ray Scanner thing is pretty nifty
