Req: Massive Assault 1.0.190 nocd crack
 

The patch has been out for a while, but no crack has surfaced for it. Can anyone help me?

It seems to be only cd-checks...if so then you might be able to defeat it with a good hexeditor and some knowledge;)

In that case, all I need is the knowledge. Got some to spare? :)

well, looking quickly through the code I found this:

"Illegal Copy Detected"

I pretty much guess if the program reaches this, then you're screwed. Now, there's a hint;)

If only it were as simply were as simple as that. I just don't know about that stuff. :(

As kallisti_dk said, it's a matter of knowledge and i'm afraid we are not plenty of. I'd experimented something with an hex editor, trying to trace the cd-check, but it seems to me like i'm not going to make it in a million years.
I'm sure there are some good soul over the place who can give a helping hand...:(

Let me guess: If you try to play without CD, the game refuses to start and give you the error message, but only if you use the patched version (1.0.190), the original runs without the cd?

Well, I can send a "testfile" to you if you're interested.

haven't tried it much but it seems to run fine without CD

Well, there's a NoCD patch released by VERMDOX now so I kinda feel that my fix is obsolete...I'm just curious if they used the same approach:D
