Question: why does the xbox boot three times then flash red and green?

About that thread
I already read that post

However this is the situation that happens to me
I went to Flash Bios ---> Evox 6.1
and accidently, I delete evox 6.1
and everything just doesn't work anymore
The screen didn't show up
There was no sound
Everything suddenly didn't work

I would like to know how can I repair it
Right now, I can't even connect X-box to Comp
therefore is there any possibility that I can repair it
If it does, can anyone help me out
Thank you

seaneyb2003 07-01-2004 09:36

hmm

i dont know alot bout xboxs so i give u some info.

i heard u can format them?

so i think it has the same ide connection as a pc so connect the hd to the pc and format like that and insert back into the xbox, i dont know if the xbox stores data on the hd about booting or the xobx dashboard u may want to ask a mod installer or the moderators on here

AXmichigan 07-01-2004 12:58

wait... so u deleted the bios? or the dashboard?...
also.. does the xbox do the 3 reboot?.. or does it just not work

Wekd 07-01-2004 14:40

actually
it reboot 3 times and then flash green and red light

I don't know if I delete the bios or the dashboard
but right now, I can't get anything out of my x-box
(I mean no image and no sound)

The only thing I'm pretty sure is that
I went to FLAH BIOS --> EVOX 6.1
and then I accidently delete that
and the next thing

X-box reboot 3 times and flash green and red light

Quall999 07-01-2004 16:01

Don't format the drive. Besides, unless it was unlocked, you wouldn't be able to.

What chip do you have? You need to flash a new set of bios on your xbox modchip.

Turn the chip off. Does it boot anything (original games)?

AXmichigan 07-01-2004 17:16

did u upgrade the hdd or anything?

Wekd 08-01-2004 04:39

I don't know what chip do I have
and I didn't want to upgrade my bios
it was a mistake that I deleted that file

I'll give you an answer tonight about if I can still play original games and what chip do I have

Thank you very much everyone

AXmichigan 08-01-2004 14:23

hmm uhh yea i dont noe y u dont noe those.. but k
find out for me
what i think is that ur hdd is locked and ur chips bios got cleared so either the xbox is trying to run off a blank bios which wont work.. or another quite plausible theory is that the xbox is runinng the microsoft bios and trying to run an unlocked hdd... which wont happen
lemme noe what chip u have and ill let u noe ur exact problem

You are completely right
When I come back from school
I check out if X-box can still play Original game
and it works, when i turn off the hack program
X-box still works with his own microsoft program
and I think the only thing that happens is that when
I want to play hack games, I can't because I delete my chips bios

my chip model is ModuleX1.3
so I hope that this information can really help me out to get back to my hack games.. Thank you!

Quall999 09-01-2004 05:54

unforutnately I have never heard of that chip, nor can I even find a website.

If you have seen the chip or installed it yourself, then that is good, disreguard my next statement. If you had it installed by a professional, he may have just screwed you over and flashed the onboard bios, adding a switch to make it dual boot, which costed him the wonderful price of free.

Do you by any chance have a link to the chip?

Wekd 09-01-2004 08:44

Actually Is there any possible way that I can put back the file
and I'm positively sure that it will work

However I'm still not sure about that chip model
but I'm pretty sure that the person who installed was a professional, because I screwed up myself, and not him

Because I can play copy games before
therefore I was thinking if there is any way, I can put back the file that I deleted before
and everything will be fine again!

AXmichigan 09-01-2004 12:35

hey thats always fun to hear..
uhh getitn back to that problem
yea me and quall as well as some others have been here for a while
and ive never heard of that chip in my entire life...
u think u could ask the guy who installed it for u what the chip was?...
if not.. then i think i have another solution to the problem...

seaneyb2003 10-01-2004 00:47

did you actually open the console??

Did you look at the chip itself usually the ic chip will have righting on this necessarily doesn’t mean that’s what the mods called.

Take a pic off the mod as well if you are able to open the console

AxMichigan
You said in your last line that you have another solution for it
Can you tell me please, the store who actually changed the chip for me is on vacation for 3 days so I still don't know about the MODEL, Thank you

Quall999 10-01-2004 06:31

Im guessing it involves mechassult 0r 007:AUF, and an action replay or mega-x-key.

AXmichigan 10-01-2004 07:05

yup
quall got it right..
my only other solution.. since u cant wait a couple days to find out what the actual mod is..... is that u gotta do one of the exploits.... font, audio, mechassault, 007:AUF, action replay, or mega-x key... then get the evox set up on ur xbox running through phoenix.. then have ur evox flash ur bios of ur chip.. then u can just delete all the exploit stuff.... itll take u some time to do.. this is the harder way around it.,. but since u cant figure out that the modchip is... thats all u can do

Wekd 10-01-2004 15:05

I can wait until that guy tells me about the model of the chip
and finally he answers me!

It is MODUX
I don't know if that exists
but the way you guys told me
I have no clue how to do it
It is way complicate for a person who begins to understand how to use an hack X-box
If that's not the model of the chip
please let me know what kinds of chip are in total
and give me some name so I can ask that person
Thank you

Quall999 10-01-2004 15:18

....never heard of it either, not even a google search. Maybe he said matrix, or xodus? I suggest opening the xbox up yourself and looking to even see if there is a chip in it. Like I said, professionals that mod xbox like to steal your eeproms (basically, this is what ms uses to ban your xbox. He could sell yours to a banned person) and flash the onboard bios.

Wekd 10-01-2004 18:46

Well
First thank you so much from you guys

Second I'm pretty sure I deleted evox.ini
that's the file I accidently deleted

Third, I'm still asking about that professional about the CHIP
and I'm sure he didn't steal eeprom because he did it in front of me, however at that time, I have no idea about the installation of X-box... therefore I really hope you guys can help me out and figure out to get the files back into my x-box so that I can play games

Thank you very much everyone

AXmichigan 11-01-2004 08:45

that name modux u said..?
its like a mix of matrix and xodus
maybe it is the matrix... xodus is the company that made matrix
if its that then u can do somehtin easier than the exploit

Wekd 11-01-2004 20:54

AxMichigan

I'm pretty sure that the CHIP is MODUX
Therefore can you teach me the easy way to recover my file!
I will be very happy
and really thanks for your help!

seaneyb2003 11-01-2004 23:58

Illegal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Delete the post

peachymojo 12-01-2004 03:37

i've used just about every search engine i can find and i can't find any chip called a MODUX

Did I ask something illegal?
If I do, please don't answer those questions
Sorry about this

AXmichigan 12-01-2004 08:36

i think cuz u said u got some xbox games in ur computer
meaning ur probably pirated
delete that part out
yup ur chip is defintaley not the modux.. if u wanna actually take a look inside, and see what kinda chip is thatd be best
just one thing i want u to see
if its solder or non-solder
tahts all ofr right now

seaneyb2003 12-01-2004 10:23

hehe ok.

Wekd 12-01-2004 10:58

Ok first of all
I'm going to open my X-box and check what model do I have

and I will rephrase what I wrote before
I have an original game and I copy to my computer
and since I think that it is better to put the game in HDD in X-box so that I won't damage my DVD game

Inside my Evox
there is a function called
Play game in HDD
If I transfert the orginal game back to my HDD in X-box
how can I execute it so that it will be easy!

Sorry for the previous message
Thank you guys!

AXmichigan 12-01-2004 16:20

wait so ur xbox is working now?

Wekd 12-01-2004 17:22

Of course not
I'm asking this so that when my X-box is fixed from your guys help
then I can easily do it without asking again!
that's why

AXmichigan 12-01-2004 18:06

hehe
lets get through one thing at a time
are u gonna open up the xbox to see what kinda chip it is? or wait for ur alleged "professional" to?

Wekd 13-01-2004 04:47

I will open by myself
Do I need to be carful when I open it?

peachymojo 13-01-2004 06:47

this website tells you how to completely take you xbox apart it should be helpful to you http://www.llamma.com/xbox/Repairs/c..._that_xbox.htm

hope this helps

AXmichigan 13-01-2004 10:42

you dont have to be super careful, but yea, i mean it is like a computer after all..
just look where the d0 points and 8 board points are.. if u see like metal attached that attaches the wire to the board its a solder.. if u see a screw in the modchip keeping it in place, its a non-solder...
well go further from there..
if u could.. tell me any other details u see.. i.e - color, placement

Jay_83 13-01-2004 13:56

The mod he's got is prob a homebrew-mod. They're relatively easy if you know how.

If the xbox was missing a file on the HD it wouldn't do the 3 times flash....it would just come up with the call customer service screen.

It looks like 1 of 2 things have happened.

Either...if it's a matrix or similar chip that it's become disaligned.

Or when you've tried updating the bios on the chip it's been a bad flash (Ie, turned off while it was flashing, bios bad etc)

If the latter is the case you'l need to get your mod reflashed using techniques quall etc mentioned.

*Respect to Quall,AXmichigan & Tyler*

peachymojo 13-01-2004 14:39

Wekd
i've read all the post to these and the first one you said was that you choose delete bios from flash bios ect....
did you then install a bios?
and then you said you think you deleted the evox.ini file?
was your xbox hooked to your pc at the time or did you just do the flash bios thing from the evox dashboard menu?

Wekd 13-01-2004 15:58

Thank you for everyone's help
and I finally got the courage to open my Xbox

Well, on the CHIP
it's written ModuleX2
I'm not sure if that's the chip model
but basically
that's the only CHIP I saw on it

Hope this will help me out

AXmichigan 13-01-2004 19:15

check ur pm's

Quall999 13-01-2004 21:56

Well, it is probably a cheapmod clone then. If it was badly flashed, then your likely not going to be able to flash it again. But, if it was bad bios flashed onto it, there is a chance.

Turn the modchip off. There is a switch, right? If it boots with the chip off, then you have a chance to recover. If it won't boot with the chip off (not to the dash, but to an original game), then your ony chance is to buy another chip....and i wouldn't suggest a professional.

btw, if you delete the evox.ini file it won't matter. Evox has one imbedded in the xbe, if none are present, then one is created.

seaneyb2003 14-01-2004 07:31

if only the xbox were as simple as a ps2 lol :)

AXmichigan 14-01-2004 09:02

hehe suure
if the ps2 had an hdd, then it would probably beat the hell out of the xbox
but guess what ps2?!
U DONT!
ps3 will, but theyre just sweatin the xbox's style
