enigmah video model selector cd

hi please help me, im a n00b with this

i downloaded the 1.5mb file from megagames

then i unrar it which gave me these 3:
- enigmahswitchfinal.rar
- pal-ntsc.nfo
- switch.sfv

how can i now successfully get this onto CD-RW?

do i still need to unrar emigahswitchfinal?

Quall999 19-11-2003 16:20

yes, unrar the other file. Then mak an xiso and burn it to a cd-rw

peachymojo 19-11-2003 16:21

yes when you use rar again it will be your iso to put on cdrw then just boot it up in your xbox and you'll find it in your settings/load apps from hdd depending on which evox you use

peachymojo 19-11-2003 16:24

i find it helps having winISO installed on my pc for some files

re

im using the original dash

does that mean i cant use this

if so, do u guys know of another way i can play these ntsc games?

btw thanx for the help

peachymojo 19-11-2003 17:08

as far as i know the only way to play imported games on a pal xbox is to have it modded i've never heard any other way

squallseifer 19-11-2003 20:07

yup i have a modded xbox

however some NTSC games dont work for some reason relating to my xbox's capability of playing PAL games only
or something like that

like the NTSC game i play i can hear the sound, but i can't see any video

peachymojo 20-11-2003 03:33

sounds to me like your backup wasn't backed up properly what bios do you have? and is your clock on xbox set to the correct time

Quall999 20-11-2003 04:15

nah, his backup is fine. He has to switch video modes in order to play the game, which i think he did. Your tv might not support ntsc video mode. have u tried any other ntsc games?

When i try and play pal games, i get sound but no video. That is because my tv is old and does not support pal.

peachymojo 20-11-2003 05:31

just out of interest which game is it? i'm from the uk and have pal and have no problems playing any NTSC game on both old and new tv just curious

peachymojo 20-11-2003 05:42

are you talking about you original NTSC games? or your own backed up version?

Quall999 20-11-2003 07:47

It was timesplitters 2. Same thing for originals and backups. I had a DC game which did the same thing too.

btw, most pal tv's do support ntsc. When you played the game, did you change your xbox to ntsc with the video mode selector?

Also, have you tried both the 50 and 60 video selection?

squallseifer 20-11-2003 19:01

the problem is that i dont have a custom dashboard like evox or anything and therefore i cant fully access the video mode selector

using the original ms dashboard it says something like the cd is not blah blah

peachymojo 21-11-2003 00:24

then you will need to put evox on it read the stickies they are very good and it will tell you what to do. the only problem i sometimes get with NTSC is my backups load up a little bit jerky and has audio cuts aswel i use the enigmah switch in one of the menus on evox dashboard and it works smooth i've never had any loss of video problems and my oldest tv is about 7-8 years old

squallseifer 21-11-2003 01:02

i acquired a tutorial from xbox scene instructing how to install evox without ftp-ing, and using only a cd-rw

would anyone know whether this is safe, proper, fine etc?

Quall999 21-11-2003 02:02

It should work fine. I also have a tutorial on my site, using a program called boXplorer. A link is in my sig.

squallseifer 21-11-2003 02:43

oh ok kool
i like ya tutorials, and ya site man
its visually nice n clean

squallseifer 25-11-2003 04:20

problem solved

i just had to use enigmah video mode selector v2
it has its own interface and doesnt need a custom dashboard like evox. w00t!
