DATA vs ISO
I forgot and can't find the post..... If I patch the Default.xbe and then use the data burn method.....That will still work right.....The biggest thing is the patch Correct
Also......So many questions...hehe... How about burning over the network? I have setup a 360 gb computer and I am sharing a drive over the network....I know I can burn from one computer to another...But should I ??? Just because I can..........Doesn't mean I should!!!! Or perhaps there is no problem...I noticed Nero said My cache was too small....Frankly....I think that was a little personal....How do they know...and I thought size didn't mater... ;-) Thanx Eric |
hehe
ur a funny guy yea u can backup a backup, no problem same files so no difference really the easier part of the backupin up a backup is that u can just put it in ur pc and copy it dude's data burn is incredible so i recommend usin that i despise isos so tahts my standpoint remember, we dont support pirating here in fact, we do quite the opposite 8) |
i don't suggest burning on one computer, from another.
and to me, data is prefered because there is less work. In the end though, it doesn't really matter. and if you do a data burn, make sure it is closed. Loading will be faster. |
yea
ISOs are garbage dudes burn is the way to go |
Yeah.....I tried it last night and it worked great...except for the swat game.....I am at a loss......At least the data burn will save space......Now I don't have to burn the iso and make another 4 gigs free..thanx all
Eric |
I personally like ISOs they load faster than Data Burns and whats another few minutes if its gonna load faster. I always go for the fastest and best built game image when I make them.
At least I give some sort of reason why I like ISOs rather than the regular Data Burn groupies that just say "ISOs are crap". Tyler! |
What ISO maker do you prefer Tyler?
|
Well I used to use SimpleXiso because it uses very little PC strain and I can multitask without slowing it down. But I am currently testing out Craxation and I do have to say Ive been liking it too.
Tyler! |
if u really wanna use isos
i suggest xiso i dunno if it burns but u can pack and unpack things with it |

are u serious?
well i guess i wont use it anymore 8) i just use it to pack and unpack files just to see if it does anything and its really weird but ah well i disliek isos anyway |
Yeah Ive never heard anything good about Xiso.

hi guys
DATA or ISO's.. there is a good way of testing this..! Only if u are able to install a game on your X-BOX's HDD from the X-BOX's ROM drive. firstly burn a ISO image of that game onto a DVD-R , then a data file of the same game onto another DVD-R. now install the ISO version onto the X-box's HDD via the DVD Rom drive. calculate how long it takes and how smoothly it saves the game. next install the DATA version using same method. u will see that a DATA version takes nuch longer , and that the DVD Rom drive is doing overtime with lots of clicks. the ISO version takes less time , and smoother , with the DVD Rom drive hardly making any noise. now i would'nt want my X-BOX's DVD rom drive tp pack up so easily , would u ? with DATA burns ,the DVD rom drive is working a lot harder...!!! (all X-BOX sites say XISO is very glitchy) i've personally never used it myself, but if 10/10 peeps say its not good, i stayed away from it. |
yea it was kinda crappy
but thats like the only one i saw so i just got it its all a matter of personal choice i suppose i still prefer to have it run off the hdd amazinly fast speed i love it everythings very very smooth |
well, the xbox will read iso's smoother, no argue there. But after i closed the disk, the loading wasn't too far off. Hardly noticable.
btw, the dvd-rom might be reading more, but don't get the idea that it will die out on you. DVD roms are made to last. I mean, when playing a movie, it is reading the disk the whole time. (btw, when u do the databurn and it reads like that, it is mosy likely the media). |
i am new to this forum, and i dont want to offend anyone...:)
Quall999 there is a big difference, even if u put dummy files with the burn... as to using good media, i always backup my games with either Riteks ,but mostly with Verbatim , which is known to be 1 of the best medias for X-BOX/ PS2... as for the clicking noise's, it is very worrying listening to it... i have 2 box's : v1 with X-Bit , maxtor 120gig HD v1.5 with Executer 2.2 lite, maxtor 120gig HD both tested the same... really it does'nt take that much longer to make an ISO image. Craxtion makes a perfect ISO and patches the game at same time, although with my modchips and bios's i have ,it makes no difference to me whether i need to patch. but the program patches them automatically anyway. the only difference i can see it make is when u want to make another backup of the disk u already have. u can do a straight copy off the fly with data burn's. but with ISO's ,u need to extract it to your pc first , then burn the ISO. |
cast ur vote in the poll i put up
|
I have always used the Craxtion then burned to Princo at 1x or even 2x and never had a problem....Except for the Swat....hehe.....No one can figure it out.....Oh well....Last time I got dvd's I got a couple of Gigastorage which is made by Ritek and they worked great.....I still use Princo and Ritek,,,,Depending on my mood....I have never done a multi disk yet...Haven't really found two that I want on the same disk
