Need Jedi Academy v1.01 NOCD fix

I need Jedi Academy v1.01 NOCD fix.

Thx.

Machina 17-11-2003 20:07

Cool

viperspit01 18-11-2003 17:59

Its an official patch release, and it hasnt been cracked yet.....what protection? SD2/3 im guessing.....the patch update has been out for over 2 weeks now....

Here: http://support.lucasarts.com/patches/jediacademy.htm

LordHalbert 18-11-2003 18:56

Grrr, I need this fix coz w/o this fix my 9800 Pro runs the game like it was a Matrox Mystique :(

It has something to do with glowing effects. Something was pooch screwed with the way they did it.

MeierElsewhere 21-11-2003 17:19

Hello...

Just wondering if there is something new about a NO-CD (SP/MP)
for this Update...

LordHalbert 21-11-2003 20:15

The patch is supposed to fix some performance issues with ATI cards (like my 9800 Pro).

My old Ti4600 actually plays this game as fast as my new 9800 Pro - go figure ??

MeierElsewhere 21-11-2003 20:32

@LordHalbert

I´m a little bit confused about your answer...because that wasn´t the question...

HunterZ0 27-11-2003 12:56

*bump* The patch has been out for a couple weeks now and still no fix. Looks like this is a neglected game with all the more high-profile stuff coming out (despite the fact that it's a featured game on GCW).

LordHalbert 27-11-2003 13:59

C'mon you crackers and hackers - I dare you to do this one !!

ByteMare 27-11-2003 14:44

Remember that this is a "free service" so don't ask for a lot of things...don't just go "I want that crack NOW"...If it's urgent then play with your original or reverse/crack the **** by yourself

'nuff

krondike 27-11-2003 15:37

German versoin has been reported SafeDisc 2.90 and US/UK verison has been reported CD-Checks.

HunterZ0 28-11-2003 23:22

Strange that they would use different protections for different versions, but now that I think about it I guess it's fairly common to see different fixes for different locales.

LordHalbert 29-11-2003 11:15

Well, a crack for this is is still nowhere to be found and it's been close to a month now since v1.1 came ou :(

krondike 29-11-2003 14:31

Well the game sucks anyway, so don't think there is alot pressue on the crack maker ether :p . Think there are only about 2 or 3 in this forum that wan't this crack!

MeierElsewhere 29-11-2003 14:58

ROFL

Sure Krondike, sure....

HunterZ0 29-11-2003 16:29

I count at least 5 people in this thread alone, and there are several other threads as well :p

HunterZ0 02-12-2003 03:57

I just wanted to point out that a moderator erroneously closed another thread on this game due to his/her belief that the 1.01 patch is a "beta patch". As you can see at the LucasArts site, http://support.lucasarts.com/patches/jediacademy.htm this is an official, NON-beta patch for the game.

JoyBoy 02-12-2003 05:56

No One Cares ;)

HunterZ0 03-12-2003 11:37

I care if you decide to start running around and closing the threads on games that people are waiting on fixes for :( I know it was unintentional though so it's no big deal.

LordHalbert 04-12-2003 19:55

Bump.

LordHalbert 05-12-2003 19:30

RincewindTheWiz 05-12-2003 20:26

Stop bumping

Panzerfaust 06-12-2003 11:53

Schulz 06-12-2003 12:16

CRACK WORKS !!! Single and Multi Player !!

THX PANZERFAUST

JoyBoy 06-12-2003 15:08

Hey nice work Panzerfaust...Not on finding a crack, but on registering twice (as Schulz) and thanking yourself for finding the crack ;)

LordHalbert 06-12-2003 17:47

That link no longer works. Could somebody make that available here or some place else - thx.

Skinner 07-12-2003 09:45

Looking for this one too.

LordHalbert 07-12-2003 20:01

I still can't get to that link: http://69.1.71.73/gcw/sd-f411n.rar

Oh well, I think that we'll have to wait for v1.2 to get a nocd fix

HunterZ0 07-12-2003 23:23

That looks like a gamecopyworld link. I asked the GCW download script for it and it gave me two mirrors that are both offline: http://dl.gamecopyworld.com/dl.cgi?sd-f411n!rar

I also searched on filemirrors.com and got the following URLs, none of which work:
http://awpost.com/games/files/sd-f411n.rar
http://gcw.speedweek.net/games/files/sd-f411n.rar
http://jcckc.homeip.net/gcw/games/files/sd-f411n.rar
http://www.gamecopyworld.dk/games/files/sd-f411n.rar

Those all look like GCW links as well, and none of them work either (some are file not found and some are server not responding).

My guess is the file is bogus. I would say maybe it's new, except that filemirrors said that it's been on some of the mirrors for weeks. But who knows?

RincewindTheWiz 08-12-2003 04:03

Skinner 09-12-2003 03:13

Can't somebody else upload the file?

Veky 10-12-2003 01:05

I have installed the game, applied the 1.0 nocd/fixed exe, installed 1.01 and the game runs fine without the need of a crack. [edit] It does ask for CD1 to be in the drive but I have that.

What I am looking for now is a nocd for Halo 1.03. :D

b9AcE 10-12-2003 01:05

You can stop looking for that file (sd-f411n.rar).
I downloaded it (from awpost.com) and guess what?
It's not for Jedi Academy.
The NFO-file says "FIFA Football 2004 Update v1.1 NoCD *GERMAN*" and the exe is "fifa2004.exe".

Somebody's strange idea of a joke I assume?
Ha ha, very funny.
Not!

HunterZ0 10-12-2003 01:16

b9AcE: thanks for the conformation. It smelled like a bogus file.

Veky: It might seem to work fine, but the only way that I'd trust that method is if they didn't actually change the EXE file between versions 1.0 and 1.01. Applying an old NoCD EXE over a new patch version is likely to leave you running the old version still, resulting in the following problems:

- Most (if not all) new features and fixes will not be present
- Potential problems may arise due to the other files that have been updated when the EXE has not
- Defeats the purpose of installing the patch in the first place

Of course, it will work fine in the (unlikely) event that Lucasarts did not release an updated EXE with the version 1.01 patch.

b9AcE 10-12-2003 03:43

They do patch the EXE-file when you update to 1.01.

I installed a fresh copy of Jedi Academy and replaced original EXE with RAZOR1911's EXE.
Then I applied the official patch (JKAcademy1_01.exe).
When it was done I compared the EXE-file from RAZOR1911 with the one I now had in my install-directory.
They were not the same.

Conclusion is that they do modify the EXE-file when you update and we do not know what they do to it.
So, we'd better wait for an updated 1.01-crack if we're gonna play without CD...

hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!:p :p :p :p

Theres some sick people out there isnt there BW!!!

LordHalbert 10-12-2003 20:28

So, I guess there's still no fix for this yet.

Looks like a lot of people want this - not just me

HunterZ0 11-12-2003 17:07

Yeah LH I don't know what the heck happened... It's on the list of recently added games on GCW and yet it seems to be ignored by the cracking groups...

Well, to bad, looks like Jk3 will have to wait a while....
