Boot CD
 

I am kinda new to this stuff and i have been researching, i found out that boot cds are the safest way to play backups. were can i download a ps2 boot cd for free. i looked for ages but i cant find one. i do not want to damage my pc

u can download a boot cd for ps2 but its not going to work cause u would eather have to buy a boot cd like swap magic which is a boot cd to load the boot cd lol then u will still need a no solder chip to load it or u can get a solder chip which u would not even need a boot cd theres no boot cd for the ps2 that u can just burn and work u will eather have to buy one with a no solder chip or get a solder chip

yes they do work but there rubish there voted 1 out of 10 by charlie ps2 they carnt play lots of games give dust2dust a call (i mean pm) he mods ps2's i would recomend a messiah 2 as it run all the new protected backups ask charlie_ps2 or dust2dust they know everything. Oh and btw with the boot disk you need a non solder mod chip www.consoleplus.co.uk but get a messiah 2

they play almost all the games with the cd loader but still would be better off with a apple pro or something that can play games like freedom fighters with that chip and no swaping

As cheap as the apple pro is there is no reason for anyone to use swap chips anymore. They are a waste of money IMO.

the thing is people like him maybe carnt solder or can but not very well so they decide to go non solder instead

yeah but that's a short term solution in my eyes, load of peeps who go for the swap-disk solution end up upgrading to a soldered chip solution because of the hassle (and in the past - unreliability).

anyway if you can't solder its not a problem 'cos there are chipper's around that will do it for you (obviously for a modest fee :p)

save a bit harder then get an M2 installed, you won't regret it :cool:

i started off with a v6 no solder with gs2 i loved it but then i got enough money from selling some things to get me a apple chip installed now i been useing it :) now i want a apple pro install but installs r so costly with shiping and all how much do they run now days ?

the apple pro are about 20 dollars so ive heard

last install costed me 80$ shiped wonder if its less now

so can sum1 answer me question, no offence, wat is the best way to play backups without soldering. can u state best boot cd and other methods.

and y arent the boot cds good, do theymess the ps2 up?

well with out soldering buy a swap magic disk with a no solderchip thats the best know way of playing backups with out a solder chip what version is ur ps2

They f*** up your tray and its the same as the knife method it ruins your ps2 get a non solder mod chip or a messiah 2. Email them and ask them for a messiah 2 and they can fit it for you

messiha 2- do u play imports and backups like normal, just put the cd and no swapping?

Non Solders
non solders are the one down from a soldered mod chip.
Non solders are used in conjunction with ar2 swap magic 2
I recomend using the swap magic disks these allow you to play backup dvd games using a simple swap method

Messiah 2

Messiah 2's are very good they boot everything and it has its own stealth mode so the ps2 doesnt even know its there it does a direct boot for every game no need to tap the reset or anything its like booting a origonal game:)

oh btw non solder mods and the swap magic disk are good for v7 machines as ar2 doesnt work with it. the bad thing about swap magic it doesnt boot ps1 games or ps2 rips

i recomend getting someone to install a messiah 2 contact dust2dust he will tell you he does install them and has a very cheap price
