Gamecube, finally cracked :)
Sup guys,
The GC development scene is about to go full steam ahead with the release of Animal Crossing Loader 1.1 This loader basically lets you stream GameCube ISOs from your PC to your Cube using the BroadBand Adapter and the Phantasy Star Online exploit. No need for modchips or external hardware. I have decided to host the file on my site. It is designed for dev usage rather than warez. If this post contravenes any rules, please feel free to delete. A review will be posted shortly and perhaps a compatibility chart as well. The file can be found in this post. |
yep this actually work. I just tried it out myself with Animal Crossing and Luigi mansion. :D finally they crack the gamecube.
|
Argh, and I was just about to post this, heh
Oh well, so are there any technical aspects on how this works posted? |
|
Errr yeah, I actually read that link (it was the one I was planning to post)
I know it explains HOW to do it, but I was more interested in it explaning how it works, not just how to do it. Anyone know? |
I assume you would have to have the images on your PC already right? If so how do you extract and make a working image?
Tyler! |
as Tyler already said, how do you make these images? CloneCD? I've read through the post on MaxConsole but there's nothing in there which tells you how you make images of the GC games...
|
Same way you do it with DC and Xbox, you connect it to your pc and make it dump the cd to the pc
Though with gamecube its a little different, instead of hacking it then feeding it a slave program that makes it dump a game disk to PC like the DC and Xbox do, you have to open it up an dre-wire it, then connect it to the pc. You ar ebasically re-wiring it to act as a PC Mini-DVD drive, there was downloadable drivers-firmware to make it work too. I remember seeing pictures of the entire setup long ago when the Zelda Wind Waker iso was first released. |
Do you happen to have a link to something explaining this in more detail I may just go get a GC and try it. Maybe. But I still would like to learn it.
Tyler! |
The link I had is the same one that Bushwick2002 posted
Basically whats happening (from what I understand) is that you turn your PC into a server, then use phantasy star online to connect the GC to your pc, then use the pc to upload code to the GC which makes it ready. Then you load an iso into the pc server program and it streams the iso to the GC through the BBA, making the GC use the ethernet adapter as the Mini-DVD drive. |
From my understanding, there are a number of internal software tools which enable you to create GC images.
|
Reeeeeeeeeeeealy?
This interests me, got any of them or any info on them? Btw.............. are these ripped isos readable by the pc? What I mean is, can you use a program like ISO Buster to view the actual files in the iso? That is what I am mainly interested in, because I love encoding fmv intros/cutscenes of games I like into xvid on my PC. If I could actually read the files in an ISO this would really make ripping them easier. |

So what programs are there that let you extact/view files from xbox and gamecube isos? Do you have any specific names or links?
|
I've spoken with someone who is using the current tools available, but I've been told that due to them being internal, I couldn't have them or even their names... Talk about secrecy :D
They could be just leading me on, but they haven't in the past and I don't know why they would now... |
I find that hard to believe since I was in the IRC channel of the first people to release the iso of Zelda Wind Waker the day it was released
They had about 20 XDCC bots hosting all the files and tools they used None of them look like anything that can view the ISO or extract files them them though I dont remember the channel name now however............. or even the server it was on |
Hey Cyber even if you could remember the names PLEASE dont list it here. This is a no piracy Forum.
Tyler! |
Do you mean the programs or group?
I know I am not supposed to list servers you can get warez on |
Anything that IS illegal dont post it. If you think its illegal dont post it. This forum gets watched. Trust me.
Why do you think Im the Big Bad Moderator? Tyler! |
watch out now,
he'll ban ya |
Ahem. Well its my job.
Tyler! |
so are they still working on a mod chip or is this gonna be the only way to play backups?

Well it was the only way. There are reports that Nintendo is now cancelling all orders of the bba (broad band adapter). And prices for them on Ebay just skyrocketed. Hopefully a 3rd party version will come out. We will have to wait and see. Tyler! |
yea i noticed that too
it shouldnt been as announced in the world as it has been |
i doubt 3rd party broadbands will come out. Nintendo will probably do what Sony did with the ps2 memory cards.
|
OK, a few points to address...
Cyber Akuma: I don't want this to seem like I am flaming you, but it would be nice if you could explain why release groups would spend so much time coding the tools to dump the games and then give them out for free on an XDCC with their first releases? I've never actually seen release groups run XDCC bots? I've seen warez kiddies do it on irc chans... In regards to cancelling the BBA, they won't do it as Mario Kart is coming out and they already nearly started a riot when they took online support out, they would be stupid to also take out LAN support. It won't be cancelled but will still be hard to get as Nintendo will set a lower demand and production rate as there are only a few supported games and they don't base sales on the loader. As said above anyway, piracy is not allowed here and the loader is STILL meant for development purposes only, not warez. |
There will probably be new versions of PSO as well that have this glitch fixed
|
u never noe
the idea of broadband for gc will now profit greatly so i think inevitably...someone will or should |
|
Why would there need to even be a compability list if we are running them off a real GC?
|
he means a compability list of the games that work with the animal crossing loader. also check out Animal Crossing Loader 1.2 ^_^
|
Exactly what Bushwick2002 said. Interesting that 1.2 is from Paradox. Eurasia are out of the GC scene...
Eurasia decided to drop all GameCube activities so we are pleased to be involved in the next evolution of this awesome loader. |
wow nice, finally cracked.
Thanks for the news, it's interesting :) |

Yeah its kinda hard to miss. The news is everywhere. Tyler! |
dunno if that was the good thing....
silly broadband adapters |
Its ok that u can load games over lan now. I'll still buy the games I like. But there are some titles that I would like to test before buying. So it's a good alternative to a rental shop. I played DN03, that game suxed so much. I wanted to give it back the same day, but it was closed, so I had to pay the double fee. I'm so damn angry about that.

Sup Guys,
Some more stuff :) :: GC Disc Server v1.2 beta - ParadoX :: :: Thanks Firstly id just like to thank Aftermath and Parasyte of Eurasia for the original Animal Crossing Loader, this program is built using the protocols created for that program and includes the exact same gamecube dol file from the 'Animal_Crossing_Loader_1.2_BETA_GCN-PARADOX' release. Also thanks to Titanik whose psul tool is used to load the Animal Crossing Loader v1.2 dol file to the gamecube. :: So What is this release then? This release is as the title states, a 'GameCube Disc Server' tool. It utilises the protocols originally created for the the Animal Crossing Loader and also uses the gamecube dol file from it. This server tool is not a standalone release. It actually stores the above mentioned dol file and psul tool inside it so that it can 'create' a copy of them to use at runtime, thereby making sure the correct file versions are in the right place to use this server. This server tool provides emulated access to a gamecube disc in a couple of different ways. From a gamecube image (as the original Animal Crossing Loader tool does) From a cd/dvd in your computer's cd/dvd drive. Cds and Dvd can be accessed using either Aspi or Spti. Spti is only available on windows nt/2k/xp systems and comes built in as part of the operating system. Aspi is available as part of the windows 95/98/me systems, but can be installed onto windows nt/2k/xp systems also. |
And oh yeah :D
:: Burning a Game to Cd or Dvd To burn a gamecube game to a cd or dvd in order to play it with this loader, burn the gcm/iso file as follows: Data Mode 1 2048 bytes per sector Do NOT burn the gamecube image file onto the disc as a file itself, burn it direct to disc. To burn with 'Nero' select 'Burn Image', 'Block Size' of 2048 bytes, no 'Image Header' or 'Footer'. Dont tick 'Scrambled', 'Swapped' or 'Raw Data'. |
Very Interesting

awesome
