Why PM him? www.alucard.cc/forums/index.php Just go there and youll find ripkits and info on what you need to do. Although a dvd burner is very cheap solution nowadays. Tyler! |

Clone CD works as well for Cd format Ps2 games..
Although Clone CD is No longer around but still works for almost all Burners..Give it a shot!! |

|
Yes ps2 games are still copiable via dvd and/or cdr burner.
PS2 cdr games are blue on the bottom and PS2 dvd games are silver on the bottom. Tyler! |

I made a FAQ for burning CDR based PS2 games a while ago. The guide shows you how to backup PS2 games using NERO, CDRWin and DiscJuggler. It also has a section for patching games complete with screenshots. It can be found on the below link:

Yes thanks for that Snoop but we here at FileForums already have a nice Sticky in the PS2 Forums that has plenty of info on backing up ps2 games.

You can use RecordNowMax to backup cd games.... Although most people use Clone CD or Alcohol 120..... |
took the words out of my mouth BG.
For ps2 cd CloneCD is probably the best providing that yr cdr burner is fully supported. Any probs at all with cloneCD then Alcohol120%, Nero, RNMax or DX, Discjuggler will handle them no probs. It just that everyone has their own fave software for backing up. Mine personally is Alcohol or Clone for ps2 cd. Regards |

No rules broke, man. Just that I like it when people read the stickies. If you know what I mean.

Hi guys, I've read the stickies, but they're missing one type: how to copy a small DVD to a CD.
I'm trying to copy Ninja Assault from DVD to CD. The game is about 670 Mb, so it perfectly fits on a CD, but I can't make it boot. I have a PS2 PAL v7000 with DMS3. The game is PAL and works from both DVD and DVD-R. The CD brands I've tried are Verbatim, TDK and Fuji, all burned at 8x with a Pioneer 105. All the backups I've made on DVD-R run flawlassly. This one won't boot. It hangs after the PS2 logo. I've tried direct copy with RecordNow MAX, Alcohol, CDRWin and Nero. Some of these simply refuse to copy a DVD to a CD-R, others do copy it, but it does not work. So I've tried both KitBuilder2 and CDGenPS2, setting the LBA of system.cnf at 12231, with and without dummy, but the game won't run anyway, same hanging after PS2 logo. I've made tens of Dreamcast selboots, so I'm not a total newbye with this kind of tools, but it seems I'm ignoring some important information.. What am I doing wrong? |
You have to remove the DVD checks in it. Either with hex editor or a dvd check removal tool. If that doesnt work then you may have other types of checks that wont let you put it to cdr without their removal as well. Too bad there are no check removals for everything.

Thanks!
I've found DVD Check Remover v0.11ß, I'll try with this one. |
Goodie! Let us know what happens.
Tyler! |
Failed :(
DVDCheck Remover has found 9 possible media checks. I've patched them all, and rebuilt the ISO with CDGenPS2, but the game won't run as before. I thought media check on PS2 was standard like on XBOX, but it's not. Bah, I've wasted too many CDs on this, I'll stay with DVD-R. Thanks for the tips anyway TylerDurden. WeeZee |
The dvd checks were a problem. But like I said earlier nowadays there are other types of checks that wont allow the play of dvd games when put onto cdrs. You can check out the alucard forums to see if there is a ripkit or tutorial that may have already fixed all these problems.
