Freedom Fighters Doesn't Work
 

ok i tried to play an original of freedom fighters PAL version and it doesn't work on my modded PS2 it only gets up to the ea games screen then goes to the red screen can someone help me i have looked everywhere there isn't a patch.

What mod? Do you have a v7?

Sounds like a v7 protected game. Disable your mod by holding reset until you see the Sony screen.

man and i was wanting that game :( i hope it an't another splinter cell kinda protaction that would suck dam EA games they always make it hard to copy i sure hope NFS underground has none cause i cant wait for that game

You don't need to patch. Just disable your mod.

I'm having the same prob with my NTSC game on my NTSC v7 (390001) ps2!

WTF is v7 protection? How can it be defeated? Is there any way to play v7 protected copies?

When I disable the chip (messish 2 pro), the games suck and are really choppy. But no problems occur when the modchip is activated other than this red screen bull****!

You shouldn't need to disable your Messiah 2, that is if you have a real Messiah 2. Messiah 2 gets past v7 protected games.

OK well, then what's it mean if I have a messiah 2 pro and I get the red screen after the intro?

You could either have a bad burn or a bogus messiah 2. Where did you buy from?

I alweays use Nero and ALL my Games did work ;)
Except from Tiger Woods and i think it was because of my not Defragged Hardddisk,because after Defrag i could Burn NHL 2004 too:)

I don't think it's bogus. And I got the game from blockbuster.

I was refering to where you got the chip.

It is not a burn protection, but an in game protection. Games like Splinter Cell won't work with some mods such as the original apple, magic 2 and 3.x, fliptops, and no solders.

Got it from vdo-specialities.com. That guy is such an asshole! And there must be something wrong if my ps2 plays like **** when the chip is disabled. But I dunno if they're bogus.

You could open it up and take a pic....

these games will work with the no solder and flip tops but on a v6 system or lower just dose'nt work on the v7 units :(

If you are just going to buy a chip like a real Messiah 2, buy from dust2dust and have Bill of www.freedomlives.com install it. If you are looking for a new premod v7, buy from www.socalmods.com.

There is nothing at all wrong with v7 systems if you get a decent mod such as the Messiah 2, DMS3, Magic V, or Apple Pro. Most people here have a v7.

Splinter cell trick?
 

Hey Bighap do you think the Splinter Cell install you did to get it work on an Apple chip might work with the Freedom Fighters? The one where you open the tray as the screen appears or is that only for Splinter Cell?

It might. Could be a little different though. Just play around with it. Eject at different times and such until you get a working method or until you go crazy trying to find a working method.:)

I must be retarded or something as I tried your method for Splinter Cell and I couldn't time the open tray with the 'X' push. So I just use my original with modchip disabled. The PC version is better anyway? I take all my back-ups to the cottage anyway!

Freedom Fighters doesn't appear to give as much leeway as Splinter Cell. Even if you open and close it real quick it goes to the "reading disc..." thing in the browser.

Have you tried ejecting right when the game starts to boot?

Press eject and leave it open for like a third of a sec and then close it (do this like a sec after the ps2 logo disappears.)

Well I have been at it for an hour now and I can't get the timing right. Everytime it goes to read disc screen, only once did I get a black screen and the game made a loading noise for like 5min. but didn't load. FFS!

Don't have it.

Are you waiting for the tray to come ALL THE WAY out and then you close it? Don't do that. Count like 1 and a half secs after the tray opens before you close it. You should close it before it extends fully.

Also try waiting for you to hear the little clicks of reading after the logo goes out. Try ejecting after the first one or two clicks you here (so pretty soon).
