Still nothing from lamont. I was able to obtain several phone numbers and a physical address for him. I have actually talked to his father-in-law, who seemed very nice and gave me his home number. I called that number and got bitched out by his wife for calling. She also threatened to call the police. All I said was that I needed to speak to lamont about a business transaction...very strange. Here is the info i got just in case any1 eles needs it:

*********UPDATE***************

OK, I just spoke with Lamont and apparently there was a block in the communication pathway. He has assured me he is sending my system off ASAP with an upgrade. I want to thank who ever called him about this thread. Thank you SO much. Lamont seems like a really nice guy. I will post again once I receive the system. Thanks again to everyone....

Burn this guy like you've been burned. There seriously needs to be mobilization on the part of modding community since ALOT of business is done this way - community cant grow if people feel wary of doing business with people, some not even in the same country! I'm thinking of adding a section like this onto my website, just kind of "community watch" type group.

What were the original details. Seems like everyone is pretty aware of what happened.

well everyone is calling him a thief, yet i received my ps2 exactly as promised...did you think maybe something else has happened? people have said he tends to lag....which i believe to be true, but i received my ps2 within a week.....

plus, the lease on his website just recently expired, maybe he is working on updating it and fixing stuff up so he's been busy....

He could have explained himself then when he was phoned instead of having his wife bitch. So I don't think that is the case.

And we know he reads this forum and is a member. The least he could do to defend himself if this lag is legit would be to post an explanation. This would hopefully correct any bad thoughts people might be having (other then flynhigh1184 of course) if he is not a thief. Which like ED! said doesn’t promote the community.

Paypal wrote me back and said they could do nothing because it was past 30 days...I contacted the web police and they told me since i had his name and adress they could probably get my $ back. I'm waiting untill friday to fill out the paperwork. I'm hoping to hear back from lamont before Friday. I really dont want to go this route but if i have to I will...I hope Lamont reads this and contacts me.

Paypal will not even allow you to file a fraud report UNTIL its been AT LEAST 30 days.....(If you wait longer than 90 days, then your screwed)

Then you have to file a complaint with them to allow them to investigate... (which takes 10-20 days)

Then they send you a confirmation letter saying that they have investigated the matter and have determined that you are entitled to a refund....

Then you get to wait some more until they get around to sending it...

This has been my experience with Paypal.....

All my emails come back as "The address which was undeliverable is listed in the section labeled: "----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors ---" ....I guess because his website is gone. I ve called like 10 times and have always gotten a voice mail....I left messages asking for an update ....refund.....a returned call...I still have heard anything as of today....

Wow this is damaging. Well I did know about the site being down and have been working on it for 2 weeks now. I have been sending out systems to alot of people and I just havnt gotten to yours yet.

The address you have posted up there is my in-laws address and the 337# is my ex-wife you were talking to. She has no idea what is going on and we don't talk much so I was never told. The 569# is still active but I am not in that office any more so you would not get an answer from there. Call me on my cell at 619-846-1033 and I will bump you up to the top.

None the less, whether your site is down or not you still have a obligation to your customers. You have proven that at least you still had a phone and more than likely your PC. In the post you linked you stated that you had numerous people calling your work phone (even though here you state that your not in that office anymore).

Mainly, what Im saying is you could have called your customers or hell even sent them a letter (as long as this took). Instead you left everyone in the dark. Thats not good in my book.

Just for a side note, I have met lamont (we lived in the same city, i'm in LA now though), and he is a nice guy. Not only did he do 4 of my friend's PS2's, he's done another xbox and my PS2. Anytime i had any issues i was able to goto his house (yes to his place) and get everything straightened out. His IS a busy person, however... i've seen the stacks of PS2's and xbox's lying around and i everytime i come over there he was been working on a different system.

Lamont is a true businessman, just give him some time and you'll be completely satisfied, i know i was.

Ok but he has written back to me once informing me that my system would be shipped out in a few days. That was 3 weeks ago. No returned phone calls or emails. It’s getting kind of old. The waiting doesn't bother me I waited for 30 days until I contacted him. It’s not returning my calls or emails is what bother's me.
