burnout 2
 

anyone tryed coping burnout 2 yet,
i cannot backup my origanal ,
its got some kind of disk protection,
i have tryed three time`s now,
i have done the ftp transfer & iso Making And burn back
also tryed the cloning & iso making & burning,
but still the copy will not bootup.
so the only this left is the disk must be protected in some way
and these`s no patches i can find to sort this problem out yet!
can anyone help

All new xbox games either reqiure a media patch, or nwer bios with the patch updated in them to run games. Burnout 2 is one of those games. Just look for a patcher to auto patch the games default.xbe, patch it manually, or update your bios.

To patch manually, open up the default.xbe in a Hexeditor. Look for the line:
74 4B E8 CA FD FF FF 85 C0 7D 06 33 C0 50 50 EB 44 F6 05
and patch the 7D with EB so it would now be:
74 4B E8 CA FD FF FF 85 C0 EB 06 33 C0 50 50 EB 44 F6 05

If you cannot find that line, then look for this one:
E8 CA FD FF FF 85 C0 7D
And change it to:
E8 CA FD FF FF 85 C0 EB

Don't use a patcher, its a pain. Update the BIOS on your chip to the X2 4977. This BIOS will auto patch the game for you.

where`s the best place to get the bio`s update
i take it you mean the bio`s updates for the x-box.
and this will sort all my patching problems.

i successfully backed up burnout 2. i used isocraxtion to patch the default.xbe ( sorry guys but i like patching the games i don't bother with bios's)
i then burned the game using the DATA BURN method and it works absolutley flawlessley.

LOL and this is coming from a guy who has five XBoxs...
I guess that mite be easier than updating their BIOSes.

no problem rms. like i said i prefere to patch all my games, my main system ( yep out of 5 i have 1 which i use every day) has a executer 1.0 installed and every game i have backed up using craxtion / data burn works perfectley using the original bios.
so i have no need to update the bios.

how does that work? did you do the tsop thingy?

no i meant the original bios which came with the chip when i got it modded ( when the executer 1.0 first came out) i have not touched the chip at all since it was installed roughley 10 months ago nor do i intend to..

i am however going to get my second box chipped with a cheapmod flashed with the 4977 bios.

newer bios's allow you to use new functions such as the eject fix or media check bypass. simpley means you don't have to bother patching new games as the bios will auto detect the media check and bypass it.


now as many people here know i have / had quite a collection of xbox's with all manour or mods installed some of which can not be updated so i prefere to patch all my backups takes seconds to do and is a hell of a lot less hassle if you take the game to a friends to play it and his chip does not have a bios capable of bypassing the media check.

it's just my preference

dude, i think your avatar looks great, but it seems a little empty. In my opinon, you should blow it up a bit so it fills more of the square.

I transferred all my saves to a new xbox. I copied All of Drive E to the new xbox and tried a few saves and they worked until I came across Burnout 2 and it says save is unusable! Also Burnout 2 save seems to be the only save that doesn’t allow copy to memory card in MSDash save manager. What is up with this game?


Could some moderator please try and find out why I can’t post a new thread anymore? I hit submit and it goes to /newthread.php and page is blank, document done. Both IE and Netscape. Search submit did same thing a coupled times and now is working again.

I backed up burnout 2 to my xbox and it works fine. That's the game that you try and get the largest crach on one mode, right? Anyways, this thread is really old.


Saves may be xbox specific. If you copied it from and back to your xbox, it may be corrupted?

As for not being aboe to post. Try deleting cookies and temp internet files. I was unable to post on the official xbox forum (unless I used mozilla), I deleted those files and it started to work fine.

That’s why I brought this thread back, it was related to what I wanted to post about and since I could not start a new thread…

I found another game where the save was unusable, DOA EB Volleyball. There must be more save data on one of the other partitions?

Yeah, Burnout 2 is an awesome game, one of my favorites, I’ve been very disappointed with most racing games, with the exception of Ralli Sport 2 and Totaled. Gotham 2 and driver 3 were just horrid, glitchy, blurry, crappy graphics… Ugh, who do they get to play test these games? Rehab patients? Anyone? I can’t believe I wasted $3 to rent that game to eject it after 90 seconds, any longer and I would have puked and had a migraine all night!

You should check xbox-saves.com. That DOA EB Volleyball doesn't allow saves from other xbox's. There is a patch on that site to allow hacked/user saves. Burnout 2 may require one.
