GTA3 ... help me get the noodle man
 

Hi,

Could someone help me get the chunky noodle man?
I went and got the molatov clocktail from the tramps
tunnel, and i blew up the noodle stand, but he still
got away.

previously i had chased him for miles, and killed
myself trying to crash him.

Any tips ?

I was gonna say - I'm not trying to be rude, but I've been following this thread for a while.

It looks like someone is using a questionably-legal backup of a game they don't have a manual for.

Starts off with "how do I save games in GT3", changes to "how do I save games in GTA3", then "how do I play GTA3".

Read the FAQ's.

with a tip from Stephanie and Ryan, which was to put a
bomb in chunky's car and get him blown up.

Now on the 'Van Heist'.

Gurm, no its not a pirated game. its a free GTA3 game
that came with the purchase of a PS2 from 'Blockbusters'
this was a limited offer, and my friend went to some
trouble to get to a store in another town where this
offer was still available at £200:00 UK pounds sterling.

I believe we have all the items that are supposed to
be with the game, but i don't recall a manual.

Theres a map, and a small 26 page booklet called
Welcome to Liberty City, is that the manual you mean?

I don't think that is the manual you mean, cos i could
not find instructions in it on saving the game.

This is one of the few computer games that has
interested me, playing computer games has usually just
passed me by but this one has me hooked.

I am not used to how they save, or restart anew and so
on, but i am getting better now. I still cant figure
out the 'aim the gun' and my driving is terrible.

And i will look through the FAQs.

Every game for every system comes with a manual. Many of us find it retardedly stupid and irksome that an otherwise beautiful manual (for example the one in Dark Cloud 2) can be interrupted with Sony's contractually obligated "push X to do this, push O to do that, push R1 to take a dump, press..."

But apparently there are those (such as yourself) that actually need the instructions.

Every game has 'em. I bet they gave you a pre-played one, and kept the manual, since people steal 'em a lot and they like to keep extras.

A beautiful manual?
Could you please describe this manual,
it might be worth trying to get one from them.

I wasn't around when this set was unpacked, i didn't see
it until later when it was in use, so it is possible
that it is around somewhere, but unlikely.
As this is the newest thing here for a while, all its
bits are in the blue cardboard PS2 box.

I will have a look around for this manual, please
describe it well enough that i would recognise it,
and that i don't look for it in places where it would
not easily fit.

I honestly couldn't tell ya what the GTA3 manual looks like, beyond the fact that it's the size of a DVD keepcase, and the front says "Grand Theft Auto 3", with a picture of a little star and the insignia RockStar Games.

*shrug*

All PS2 games have manuals. Every last one.

That dont look a GTAIII manual to me... ;)

There is no real 'manual' for either GTAIII or Vice City as the first few missions for the either game are basically Tutorials on how to play the games. And yes that 'Welcome To Liberty City' Booklet is supposed to be the manual..

By the way, you Americans still get those Black PS2 DVD Cases?

Well, for the past year or so, we have been getting some rather snazzy blue covers. Same as the black cover (PS2 Memory Card holder etc...), but blue... :D

The case with this game is a sort of silver-grey, with
the word 'Platinum' bottom left. If i spread the case
open, it is possible to withdraw the printed picture
jacket from the plastic cover. The picture in this one
is a different picture to the one in the pic above.
And the words along the bottom of the fold-out map
are in bold yellow, where they are white in the pic.

Otherwise it all seems present and correct.

John1, that pic that bighap posted is of the American/NTSC release of the game.. You have the PAL version of the game, which comes with a much better cover.. :p

What countries had that cover anyway? Perhaps it was just the UK that had the cover with the white background. (The bottom one)

Yeah it is pretty bad. The top one is from an ebay auction. The guy is located in Australia.

Many thanks to you all for your replies.
I am at the race now.
Ive been stuck at the race for ages.
I have tried the race so many times that now i mess about.

One of the race cars turned turtle, and couldn't go anywhere,
so i wondered what would happen to it after the race.

So instead of doing the race, i hung around and watched it.
After the race, its engine stopped. So i nudged and poked it.
After a little while, a man got out of it. So i tried to get in, but
no go. So i followed the man that got out, and tried to get
the keys off him. No go. So i pushed the race car back to the
garage/flat which took ages, and pushed it into the garage.

Yes it got fixed, and yes i had a race car to play with.
Dont bother they handle awful,
and i was hoping it would be 'invincible', no such luck, it burns
and crashes just like the others.

The best car i have found to try the race is the Mafia Sentinel.
Unless you know different ?

Can anyone give me any tips on how to win this race ?
feel a bit stuck till i get past this ...

Exactly which Island are you on? Are you doing the Turismo race for the Diablo's on the First Island or the Race for the Yardies (I think!) on the Second Island? Its been so long since I played this game, for the life of me I cant remember it properly... Anyways if you are on the Diablo's Turismo 'Mission' just use the Sports Car inside the Showroom of the Car Dealer near the Fire Station and next to 8 Balls pad.. Again I would tell you the name of the Car, but I cant remember it all... Cheetah?? I dont know...:confused:

If you mean the race on the Second Island, then just use any of the Sports Cars driving around.. Personally I would go with the Infernus...

still havent completed the race,
The car you refer to is a Banshee i think.

btw, he is talking about the cheetah, and the infernus, both cars are in gta3

and both are better than banshee

I have been using the Banshee from the showroom,
several times, in all i think the police cars
take the most punishment, but the Mafia Sentinels
seem to drive better.
I have also used a race car, called i think a
'cheetah' but different looking, i don't think they're
much good, i think they are very twitchy on the
steering and they get knocked too easy all over the
place.

I don't remember an 'Infernus'

Maybe i should do another thread: Help me with the race!

I think its just practise, i shall keep trying.

OK, just done playing this race a few times... Damn GTA3 still plays good :)

Anyways... The race is piss easy in the Banshee, heres a trick, dont go speeding off at the start, wait at the start line for 1 or 2 seconds and let the other racers smash each other up at the first corner... That way you dont end up taking damage.. This race is a waste of time in the Police Car and the Ambulance. Both have great speed but they handle like crap... You could try the race in the Mafia Sentinal or the Diablo's Stallion, they are pretty good in the race... The Infernus and the Cheetah are only available once you get to the 2nd Island..

You find it easy?
Well i am still finding it too difficult.
I have tried letting them struggle around the first corner,
but it doesn't seem to help me none.
What seems to help a bit is coming up fast from behind and
crashing between two cars on the starting line, that seems
to scatter them a bit, and i can generally stay in the lead
to almost the third checkpoint, but they seem to spin me
off one way or another by then.

I have tried a Diablo Stallion, and a Mafia Sentinel, i also
took one of the race cars to the garage and re-constituted
it, but i don't like it.

I think i am just not very good at the race.
i will keep trying,

OK, when I was messing around on GTA 3 earlier, I was playing it after completing the game...Basically after completing the game you can mess around in the city and do some of the Missions over again, like this mission (The Diablos Turismo)... If I remember correctly (and this is going back almost 2 years now, to when I first completed the mission)... This mission is'nt part of the Main Missions of the game is it? I mean its one of the optionals isnt it? You can find out on gamefaqs if it is... Anyways if you are finding it difficult, just skip it and continue the Main Game :p
