Battlefield 1942 1.4 .exe fix not working!! please help!
 

ok....hi to all folks on this forum....

i've got a serious problem....either of the .exe fixes for Battlefield 1942 v1.4 isn't working for me....infact it works fine, as long as u want to play single player....if i create a LAN server to play with my friends at home, i keep getting the "data differs from server" message....so i downloaded the serverfix, but with no success..... :((((

any suggestions??

I just posted a thread on this identical issue the other day and got no response other than someone telling me to put the question on an existing thread.

I told them I started a new thread like you, because the other existing threads were old, long, and not to this point. I had a specific issue that I needed help with and did not want to wade through a bunch of obsolete B1942 threads.

I looks now that my thread has been DELETED, as it does not show on this board anymore (BF1942 1.4 NoCD Stops Lan Hosting) and it does not come up with my other threads when I do a search.

It was there yesterday and now I can find no trace of it, I hate to think that it was deleted as that does not say much for this forum.

I hope that someone replies to your thread as I have the exact same problem and have tried four different 1.4 NoCD cracks and they all fail when trying to Host a Lan server regardless of what the other response replied.

Look, it's very simple. There's only ONE guy that decides whether your threads are good ones or a pure waste of space. Hint : it ain't me. Battlefield1942 is one of those games that sometimes generate TEN different threads on the same DAY, all of which could have been reduced to two at the most. So don't be surprised if this one gets deleted too. I just spent 5 seconds of my valuable time using the SEARCH BUTTON, which gave me THIS. Any questions ? Oh, and if you think the service here is lacking for your refined tastes, here's another board you could try. Goodbyeeeeeeee !

there was an updated BF 1942 v1.4 singleplayer/multiplayer released by overkill the other day....im not sure if gamecopyworld.com has it........try *************.com or megagames.com they have it.....

i'm really getting pissed...hmm do i have to use the fixed .exe anyway? i've got the cd's so i'll just use a keygen when installing and play with the cd in the drive.... how's that?? :)

its a dam shame about this data differs from server crap :| i wouldnt have patched to 1.4 if i knew about all this, the problem is you have to patch to 1.4 to use all the new mods, DC.38 and EOD12% etc

Is noone trying to fix the problem? i know the mods are gettin bored of this but its quite an annoying problem.

oh yea....i have a solution...f**k those noCD fixes....i've just imaged the battlefield CD required to play, patched to 1.4 and runnig everything smoothly from a virtual CDrom....how 'bout that? take some hard drive space though...you can even play it directly from the CD drive...JUST FORGET ABOUT THE NO CD FIX!!! :)

Yes I got the same problem. I applied the BF 1.4 Patch and have tried EVERY 1.4 No CD Crack and NONE of them work. I double click on the BF1942.exe and it goes to a black screen and then cuts back to the desktop. Hmm I think I will just burn BF1942 to a CD and play it from that for now until someone makes a 1.4 Crack that WORKS. Hey Skuko how did you make a virtual CDrom. How do you make an image of the CD? Is there 2 CDs which on do I make an image of?

im sorry but the 1.4 no-cd by overkill (the *proper working one* by overkill on http://******************.com) does work!! how do i know this?? because i am using it! your right The other ones didnt work...but you need to get the last release by overkill...it works!!!

I downloaded it and it isnt working. It does the same thing. Whats that BForig.exe for. Can you give me the direct to the download. I got BF1942 and Road to Rome installed.

Try uninstalling the game, then reinstalling it, apply the *Official* 1.4 patch update from EA, then use the SP/MP no-cd....

the problem u got, is with the refresh rates....just go into : your battlefield install dir\mods\bf1942\settings\ then open videodefault.con with notepad and change the value of allowallrefreshrates from 0 to 1....that will fix the game so it runs....

the second thing thing is....download for example Alcohol 120% and make an image of the first BF1942 CD....alcohol is also a virtual CDrom creator and manager....just mount the image of the first CD into th evirtual CDrom a you got it running... :)

The no cd works fine and does excactly what it says on the tin, i can play the game and join servers with no cd, its the server bit thats the problem. :mad: cant even host on LAN, sux so bad.
Ahh well. this must be the part u say use the original CD

GUK : nah....the link, that viperspit posted is REALLY working....i can now host a multiplayer LAN game without a CD...everything is running smooth....i don't know....

the problem is that most people are getting the two files mixed up....the server fix that fixes the Gimps release works for some people...but not all......the no-cd sp/mp FINAL WORKING RELEASE by overkill (the update on http://******************.com) works for pretty much everyone, but still a few still cant get server access....the best thing to do is try both of them...they should work.

A lot of useful information here, but it still has not solved my problem. This is my situation:

I can play sp/mp-games without any hassle, but when people try to join a LAN game I hosted, they get Data differs from server-error.

Both PCs has the exact same Battlefield-version and Ive tried with MANY different cracks, always using the same on both PCs.

Ive tried every crack, and im still getting the same error, even with the new overkill-crack. Anyone know why this is? What can I do? Ive tried hosting CloneCD images with Deamon Tools too..

ok...now this is what i did: the first time, i've just uninstalled DC 0.35, then patched to 1.4 and installed DC 0.38....afterwards i found out, that none of the fixes works.....so i reinstalled to version 1.31 of BF....then i realized that i could possibly play it with the image mounted, so i upgraded to 1.4, DID NOT CRACK, and installed DC 0.38 again :)......it WORKED!! i could host a LAN game...and no one had the data differs from server message.....everything went fine....and then viperspit posted the direct link to a WORKING!!! (REALLY) [thanx again :) ] no CD fix...so now i'm smoothly running a LAN server for my friends and we play DC on LAN....hope this helps.... :)

OMFG how could I have been so stupid. I read in the FAQ of this program(some Refresh Rate Fixer) ages ago and it had something about BF1942 not being able to working anymore after they had changed the refresh rates. I tottaly forgot about that. But the stupid thing is that I read that today but didnt think of it lol. Thanks skuko. Im 100% sure it will work cause every other crack I have applied has. This one just needed some tweaking :D.

heya....don't be mistaken....what u're writing about has NOTHING to do with those non-functioning noCD fixes...it's just getting to run the game in general....you'd have that refresh rate problem even with the 1.31 patch.... I personally had that prob with the 1.1 patch and since then after every new patch installation I change that variable...so i don't have any probs with running the game...as i say: those non working cracks are a WHOLE different issue..

these cracks i have seen posted everywhere work for battlefield 1942. However, they fail to do their job when hosting battlefield 1942 DesertCombat 1.4 .38d :) ......... I have personaly tried all of them, and reintaled the game about 10 times, ,,.... any suggestions?

i don't use no cd patches at all anymore too many problems,
find "alcohol 120%" load it up, create a virtual drive, make an image of your cd,
load the image every time you want to play and you will
have no problems.
The only drawback is you have to have plenty of disk space
to handle the images once you start making them for all your games.
Only allow alcohol to make 1 v drive as it seems to mess things up and lag lots when you create too many.

Hey skuko I changed that 0 to a 1 and everything works now. The only thing thats wierd is I have to get out of the game (eg BF1942) to change to RtR or DC. Anyone know how to fix this or will I just have to put up with it, its no big deal anyway. Also the voices in game sound like chipmunks(really squiky), like when you select the binnoculars and left click. Does someone know how to fix this?

All it says for me is "patch failed"

the new patch works better than the previous gimpsrus and fairlight releases! what you need to do is install a fresh copy of the bf1942 1.4 patch, then run the new crack patch. some issues with this new patch:

1) single player works great as usual.
2) nocd works great
3) multiplayer lan works great
4) however, hosting dedicated internet server STILL gives me the error "DATA DIFFERS FROM SERVER"

does anyone have any way to fix this. i made sure "content checking" is disabled on the dedicated server and i and still receiving this error. HELP! much appreciated!

I have a huge problem with BF and RTR.
I have uninstalled BF and RTR, then

1. installed BF 1942
2. installed RTR with Update 1.25
3. installed Update 1.31
4. installed Update 1.4 (~ 28MB)

The NoCD Crack work fine - BF started - BUT

1. At the End of the Intro the Text "Road to Rome" is away
2. The Singleplayer Missions from RTR are away too

I can´t play RTR Missions !!!

Where are they gone ???

What have happen to the guy..that releas...the 1943 battlefield thing... yuou know..rename the .exe file...and have fun? That crack work..... with LAN....what have happen to that crack? :confused: It work very good for me, can't understand why other have MP problems for 1.4 becuase that crack is released...but I don't remeber who did it...:rolleyes:
