What modchip were you using? If it isn't evo-x certified, then you just f'ed up your chip.
Oh, and there is always the possibility of a bad flash. |
other back up games still works... so i dont think i messed up my chip...
But bad flash, how would i fix it? |
and i do not recall what chip i have.... sorrie
well, if your backups still work, then your probably right that your modchip isn't messed up.
As for a bad flash....It depends on your chip. X2 lite, a bad flash is not fixable. If you have the matrix/xodus modchip or X2 Pro, then it is possible to re-flash the chip with your PC. It depends if the chip has protections against it or not. Which is why I asked what chip you had. Also, is it booting to a dashboard, or is it just games that are working? |
its booting up into the normal microsoft dash board
well, just re-install the evoX dashboard.
evoX cdrw doesnt boot up anymore.... it pops into the ms dashboard and it gave an window saying that xbox does not recognize the disc.
i think i either have the apple x mod chip or the xecuter
does your xbox play any of your backups? If not, then I don't think the chip is working. If your modchip was flashed wrong, your xbox could be booting to the normal xbox bios.
I don't think the apple X is flashable through evoX, but the apple X-2 is. X-ecuter is not, but x-ecuter Lit/Pro are. So, if you have the Apple 1/v1.1 or x-ecuter, then your probably screwed. If you have the Apple-X2, or X-ecuter 2, your probably fine. |
its playing alll my backups, execpt for evox.
i got the xbox media player working also.. |
you posted as I was editing, nevermind the extra stuff there.
Well, you will either have to put a dummy file on the evolutionX cd/dvd, or put evolutionX on boXplorer and do it that way. |
putting evox in boxexplorer?
yea... omg... i just had boxplorer working a sec ago... why did i reset....!!! GRRR... so how do i put evox in boxexplorer |
You have to burn evolution X in a folder on the same CD as boXplorer, if you want to use it to put evolutionX on.
Before you do though, check to see if you already have it on your HDD. You can see if the evolutionX dashboard is already on your xbox with it boxplorer. Just load it up and if your not on the C drive already, press stat and choose it. Look for a file like "evoxdash.xbe" or something like that. If it's there, then you already have it. Just rename the xboxdash.xbe to msxboxdash.xbe and the evoxdash.xbe to xboxdash.xbe. I dunno how well you know that program, but I'm going to give the basic controls that you'd need. Quote:
thanks no evoxdash.xbe
oh yah, In boXplorer you can also press "start" and choose the "D" drive, then browse the cd for the evolutionX default.xbe. Just hit "A" to launch it and you can ftp to your xbox. It's easier to edit everything that way.
hmmm wonder why it doesnt work... i loaded boxplorer.... exchanged the disc with evox disc and then went to d:\
but i see nothing in it... all it says is... d:\ [*.*] it looks like it has no files at all... |
i think i hold the worst xbox on this planet
you have to burn evolutionX on the same disk as boXplorer. I was just say that instead of setting up tha dashboard with boxplorer, you can launch evolutionX and do it through ftp.
alrigth i could run evox now... but now what?
Can you ftp to your xbox? With a program like FlashFXP?
not yet
i need a rj45 wire long enough so i could stick it in my computer ethernet card its gonna be something like this..... internet ---->> router ----->>> wirelessreceiver(mycomp) ------>xbox (connected to mycomp ethernet) how would i come about doing this? |
oh yea... and when i look at the settings/ info in evox they say that my bios is evox d 6ef? is this right?
In that case, it is probably quicker to burn evoX on the same cd as boXplorer and set it up that way. You can do it in like 5 minutes.
and should i copy the evoxdase.xbe and the evox.ini into the c: partition of the xbox?
yah, and see if it will boot up before you rename it (by resetting without a disk in the drive). Some bios boot to evoxdash.xbe before xboxdash.xbe.
is my bios right... what is ur bios?
i guess my chip is the kind of chip that boots to evox :)
i have the normal x-ecuter v1 bios, so it doesn't do that. I think you might have the evoX D6 bios, which aren't the newest, but have the dashboard boot hack. Of coarse, I can't tell which you have for sure because I dunno which ones you have just flashed to the chip.
k... but it should be easy from here on out right... i mean with connecting to the xbox and all..
as long as you have everything, it should be easy.
how did u get a wireless receiver for your xbox?
The connection between my xbox and PC is a cat5e cable. My router is wireless though (supports both). But if you wanted to get the wireless connection between them, you will have to buy a device that can get very pricy. The thing your want is called an Access point. It plugs directly into your xbox. I tried to search the one you need for you, but I kept getting other crap in my searches that made it hard to find.
ok, found some. I think this is what you might want: http://www.linksys.com/products/prod...id=36&prid=432 or http://www.dlink.com/products/wireless/dwl900ap/ |
thnx
