Why doesnt my MOHAA Uninstall????????

I have already completed the game and when I was going to uninstall it I highlighted the remove button and it did the maintenence job. I decided to delete the file from the C: drive but I cant re-install it. How do I uninstall????????????

munsterbuster 20-03-2003 08:07

You must remove everything from Mohaa. Also the entrys in the registry.
I would say, download tools like Regcleaner. They remove dead links in the registry.

gh0sth@cker 20-03-2003 10:13

Search for the following key in the registry and delete it (there may be more than one so delete them all)

0dea94ed-915a-4834-a87e-388d012c8e02

If you cant find that key then maybe you have a different edition of the game or something, so insert the cd, open up setup.ini in the root of the cd and look at the ProductGUID - that's the value you should look for and delete.

sure fire way of uninstalling MOHAA

get an old DOS disk and boot to it (or hit f5 when booting 98 or 95)

type "format C:\" without quotes.

confirm the command and wait - this will take care of most uninstalling problems.

(i cannot be held responsible for any data loss as a result of anyone being stupid enough to actually do this)

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE take no notice of the above post.

RincewindTheWiz 20-03-2003 15:46

Indeed, the right command is of course "fdisk", only bad people with bad intentions would recommend "format". :D:D:D:D

PS This is even more of a (lame) joke. Do not try this out. If you're really interested in destroying your data/pc, give me a pm and I'll give you my top secret list of really cool ways to blow up a pc :D

Help!!

I'm trying to uninstall MOHAA and can't seem to. I've been instructed to delete the registry number but then the machine asks me to save and when i try and do that it won't let me. Is there something I'm doing wrong or can someone who is a wee bit more proficient help?
PlEASE?

ByteMare 12-07-2004 05:28

By looking at your previous post, you were editing the setup.ini which is not correct. GH told you to look for your productID which should be in that file.
Then start regedit to get to the registry, search for the the same productid and then delete it.

ByteMare 12-07-2004 05:30

No, you can't save it if the source file is a non-writeable media

budwyser4 12-07-2004 07:07

Soooo

Does that mean I'm FUBAR'd
any suggestions since i'm not getting much help here?

gh0sth@cker 12-07-2004 07:29

  1. Insert your MOHAA CD into your cd drive
  2. Goto My Computer and view the files on the cd
  3. Open setup.ini
  4. Look at the value of ProductGUID (or similiar) and copy it
  5. Click on Start, then Run (If it's not there then press Windows Key + R)
  6. Type regedit and press enter
  7. Make sure 'My Computer' is highlighted in the left hand pane
  8. Press F3 and type in the ProductGUID you found earlier
  9. Once it is found, delete it.
  10. You can now uninstall the game
