dvd2one help needed

Help...

I have tried using dvd2one and selected the source within the video_ts folder and directed the files to a folder titles video_ts on the dektop.

The message comes up succesfully completed but the proces only take a few seconds, and the amount of data transferred is minimal.

Can anybody offer me some assistance?

Regards

James

You can't read directly from a DVD because it's protected.

Copy the DVD to a directory on your PC using DVD Decrypter first. You can get that here http://www.dvddecrypter.com/download.asp.

Once you have done that, this will be your source file.

Hope this makes sense.

It's really easy when you've done it a couple of times.

Use Smartripper or DVD Decrypter to rip the files from the DVD to your harddrive. Then use DVD2one to shrink down to 4.36gigs. Its a great program.

Is it still dvd quality and will the audio be 5.1,7.1 etc does it copy everything?

Chromedome 01-03-2003 12:14

The picture obviously is not DVD quality because it's compressed but myself and many other can't see the difference, even on a 52" HD TV.

DVD2One does not interfere with the audio, so that is the same as the original.

I have just started using it and the picture quality is excellent. Certainly good enough for the kids :)

I have found that the credits are cut short at the end.

Not sure if that is just my fault or a usual occurrence. I guess I don't need to backup the credits but it is a little mystifying

I'd still recommend it if discxcopy can't fit it all in on one disc !

Chromedome 01-03-2003 13:10

The credits have not been cut short on the movies I've done, perhaps it's a quirk of the movie you've done.

The credits may have run over into another video file, DVD2One only copies the main video file. That's all I can think of anyway.

Makes some sense I suppose. I've got to convince myself because nobody else will ha ha ha!

oldshepp 01-03-2003 13:29

Because I am a newbie, I only use the default settings on both DVD Decrypter and DVD2one. Maybe that's the reason.

It doesn't worry the kids though. I'm yet to see them sit through the credits of any movie :D

Chromedome 01-03-2003 13:41

Yeah, I just use default settings.

Like I said, I think it's just that particular movie. See what happens on your next one.

Happy burning.

iv got dvd2one but have started using pinnacle instant copy and its great. you get all the menu's and extras and the pic quality is fantastic. get it

I've heard Instant Copy is very slow though for something that's "instant". There's a bit of a clone getting about now called DVD95 copy.

I find dvd2one slow enough but very reliable.

I fixed the problem with the credits. I was using copytodvd to burn the disc, now I've aced it and am using Recordnow Max. Haven't had a problem since then.

Recordnow Max or Primo DVD are surprisingly easy to use to burn the back up!

Cheers

I knew you would crack it in the end. It just takes time to adjust and get used to what's happening.

You'll soon be doing it with your eyes shut!

I personally use Nero to burn the disk but everyone has their favourites.

Good luck.

i just used dvd2one to make a backup of my dragonfly dvd. i must say i can't tell the difference in pic quality even on my 80 CM tv! BUT i used the copytodvd option and this is bizaare it copied everything until chapter 11 after that it used the first chapter as chapter 12 and skipped chapter 13 completely! what a waste of a disc

should i use something else instead of letting it use the copytodvd option??

how do you burn a cd with NERO 5.5 after decrypting it with dvd2one?

Chromedome 11-03-2003 04:11

I use Nero. Make sure you use V5.5.10.7 or later the you'll get a DVD that will play in any player.
