ritek dvd media

any1 use ritek dvds? got this off of some1 on the forum www.supermediastore.com anyone use their brand yet?

cactus 23-01-2003 19:53

I just got some from Rima.com and I they seem to be working ok. The only thing is that, from what I understand, you should make sure they're a really dark purple. I guess Ritek makes tonnes of different DVD-Rs. Good luck!

I've had perfect results from the Ritek discs from www.allmediaoutlet.com. (silver tops)

No complaints.

ThAD0oD 25-01-2003 22:28

they are damn good media.

they use one of the highest quality dye out there. The G03 dye is second only to Apple media.

elkayps2 26-01-2003 06:49

Been using the riteks for months now they work 100% flawless

I rate them better than Apple/Verbatim
I also found that Taiyo Yuden is the same Ritek Dye and have been using them when I can't get Riteks

u guys think $95 US shipped is cheap for 100 spindle?

how much do u guys get them at?

mine are silver topside, deep purple bottom.

LK

BG 26-01-2003 07:01

Yeah... Thats a good price.... Thats about what I'm getting them for also....

I couldn't be happier with them....:)

dust2dust 26-01-2003 07:13

traxdata are $1.5 each here in uk
ritek unbranded about a $1 each maybe $1.1
plus shipping makes me sick u get them a bit cheaper and they made in uk by a uk company

bighap 26-01-2003 09:39

Got mine for $1 a disc. It's a good deal elkay. Beats paying $3 for Verbatim:)

I was told by a guy in the know that the darker puple Ritex 2x DVD-Rs are better for all round usage. He also said that they are especially good for use with PS2s. The ones i use are plain white ontop and no distorted edges. I have authored 3 DVDs so far and they play fine in my Pioneer DVR-104 w/PowerDVD.

Ritek has different quality dvds. Mine have silver tops and have dark purple bottoms. Work flawlessly with ps2 games and dvd movies. Got em off ebay from prestoshoppercom.

Is your PS2 chipped?

bighap 02-02-2003 17:13

Yes. Read the signature. :)

So would it be your opinion that PS2 disks run differently wether it was chipped or not?

bighap 02-02-2003 17:21

Not sure what your talking about. For ps2 backups you need a chip. For dvd movies it doesn't matter if you have a chip or not. They play just as well without a chip.

Ok, i was not talking about 'back ups'. I was meaning when you DL from the net (.cue) and burn a PS2 game disk.

bighap 02-02-2003 17:31

I don't download games but if the image is made and burned properly it will be fine.

As long as he has a mod chip...:)

rubber2k1 03-02-2003 09:27

I also bought some Ritek from ALLMEDIAOUTLET.COM. They have worked great for movies and PS2. These are the G03 as DVD decrypter shows. Silver top and dark purple bottom. I have burned movies that are 4.37gigs and never had freezing at the end like some reported. Great media!

Lusec 03-02-2003 15:55

Yup, just got a batch of those silver 4x Ritek and they were very good. My PS2 seems to like them. Only one time has it went into the "please insert PS2 screen" unlike my old Princo disc which would go into that screen about 20 to 30 percent of the time when it boots up. By the way I got them for $1.79 each at shop4tech.com.
