Has anyone tested this software? I am considering it, but I need some feeback on the ease of using it. I just want to do a few clicks and sit back and watch the magic. Will this program do this?

DVDxCOPY

Just started using it, does not support PAL as of yet, but still giving it a whirl :-) Let u know asap

rubber2k1 16-12-2002 09:52

i downloaded a cracked version. I couldnt get it to work. When trying to transfer the movies files from one box to the other it would error then close. So i deleted it and just use smartripper and ifoedit.

-BuGzY- 16-12-2002 14:36

i had same problem with program and downloaded and tried it as soon as i moved the track to the burn section the program crashed and exited ......does any one know why ....the os im running is windows me and i have a sony dru-500a burner, can any one recommend a better back up program to use?

thanx in advanced

bighap 16-12-2002 14:44

It is not supported by Windows ME. Only XP and 2000 right now. They are working on a ME and 98 patch.

-BuGzY- 16-12-2002 14:53

thanx for the info i was wondering why it kept crashing on me......

bighap 16-12-2002 14:56

No prob. I am upgrading to XP just so I can use this prog.

-BuGzY- 16-12-2002 15:01

good idea i would do that except a game i play called halflife is bad on xp so ive heard .....do u have any advice on a good disc to disc program i can use ive had my burner for 3 days now already and i have yet to burn one dvd

bighap 16-12-2002 15:04

Dvd X Copy is really it. The only other way of copying dvd movies is going through a long process of ripping and editing and bunch of other crap. I tried doing it but got fed up with it. That is why I am upgrading.

-BuGzY- 16-12-2002 15:06

oh man that sucks pretty bad ....hey thanks for all your help ....hmm i guess i might have to upgrade then

bighap 16-12-2002 15:15

Unless you really really like Half Life....upgrade. It would be worth it. XP is a much more stable OS than ME also.

-BuGzY- 16-12-2002 15:32

yah i just talked to another hl player and he uses xp too ....so full steam ahead on upgrade to XP .......thanx for your help bighap....so once i do upgrade to xp my DVD X COPY will work?

bighap 16-12-2002 16:48

Yep.

A quick report.......

Back up a DVD with DVD X COPY with no problems :-)

DVD: 8mm PAL
DVDxCOPY ver 1.2.2
WinXP Pro + SP1
512mb ram
Athlon 1800+
Pioneer 103

Took about an hour, did it perfect used Nero API to burn the disks.
Only problem is that it puts a "Advert" for 321 Studios on the backup :-( . Besides that no problems at all, if I can be of any help to any of u guys let me know, i will try my best :-)

bighap 17-12-2002 10:52

^BoXy^ 22-12-2002 07:33

Did u use the built in burning or use Nero API ?

dude 22-12-2002 09:44

dude
just tested version 1.3 copied lost in space dvd9 perfectley.
both discs work fine i used the in built burn engine had no problems.
am using xp pro with sp1 only thing i didn't like is that the movie burn't with english subtitles on. will have to play around abit to sort but otherwise this is a excellent programme.
no more messing with smart ripper / dvd decrypter / clad dvd etc:D

-BuGzY- 22-12-2002 11:40

i used the built in burning and during the burning process it froze

lollyruk 22-12-2002 13:19

i used nero burn engine with mine and they all work great but does anyone know how to make it onto just one disk i removed all the trailers and that using dvdxcopy and it was under 4.7 but it still splits it onto two disks?

lollyruk
pioneer105

-BuGzY- 22-12-2002 15:47

what version of nero burning engine do u have ...i tried to use nero first and it told me to use a certain copy of nero ...im guessing the newest one?

ic99fly 22-12-2002 16:57

In dvdxcopy, is there a way to get all of the extras on 1 disc and the movie on the other if it is short enough?

Chromedome 26-12-2002 16:47

Only DVDXCOPY V1.3 supports PAL movies.

It checks automatically to see if the main film would fit on one disk minus the extras, if it doesn't you get the lot on two disks.

I'm now using the program and the resulting disks play in all my stand alone DVD players.

^BoXy^ 27-12-2002 04:12

Just been trying to remove the "Warning Screen" from the start of the the DVD. Anyone got any ideas ?
